Not a big US car fan, but I really hope you pick up the new mustang again for a more detailed review - This was simply too short IMO.
1
Good Review! and well the Levante appears to be a very good SUV and it looks quite good for an SUV as well - My guess is that this car will be a good success for Maserati. The transfer of the current Maserati DNA to the SUV is a successful one IMO - The pushed back cabin appearance is particular well executed and if it drives as good as indicated in this review it will have some appeal for sure. Interior and seats also looks good. I ma not much into SUV´s but for what it is this new Maserati is very good indeed.

Wonderful interior and what appears to be a great ride, but unfortunately a very boring exterior design. The old Q7 was a bit daring in it´s "I am big" get away design and it had an unmistakable profile, no one would see a Q7 and think it would be some other model - If one wanted a big European SUV the Q7 was on top of that list. This new design is so conservative and anonymous, the way the back slightly bends downwards, the way the wheels look too small, it´s so conform in its main design and it sends no personal signals what so ever. They shaved a lot of weight of it but it looks more heavy contra the old one that looked big and strong. I´m sorry, but for SUV´s both AUDI and BMW designs simply does not rock my boat atm. Mercedes is half and half and the same with Porsche - Range Rovers tops them for exterior design and the Asians make much more dynamic and interesting SUV approaches in the smaller segments. Forcing traditional Design DNA to SUV seams to be a continuous challenge for the established Auto Makers and the influence from the Chinese market seams to bring "anonymous" in front.

3.8 Sec! Wow that is seriously fast acceleration for a SUV.

@willhands Thanks nice ot hear that ;)

He´s a bit of a goof ball. Nothing wrong with his info´s but it´s not really kicking. Camera was quite low end too. Sorry but you can do better.
1
The way it looks is not appealing IMO - but you still get the clues of a Mini if your not a car enthusiast. Im guessing this is about utilizing the Mini brand value into other segments, it does thou not make it very attractive thou, it looks mutated and quite unresolved at various places like the front. I would either take a real Mini or take another car brand.
1
They are only gonna make 3 of the Venevo and 499 of the LaFerrari.
1
Yes Australia might not seam the optimal market place for this new i3 - unless you just commute inside Sydney.
1
Think it was not meant to be exposed that Renault engine in the A class - anybody buying it with that engine will get told that it´s not a real Mercedes. I was very critical about the new A class design when first viewed on images, but I have seen a few on the roads now and it´s looking quite good. A large step for that A class - the old one was horrible IMO.I would though pick the AUDI here, normally prefer BMW´s for their driving dynamics, but new 1 series is not very pretty.

Actually like a lot of the new concepts shown in the vid, very futuristic and dynamic, good wheel stance and exquisite details. The DSx could go europe as well, VW should make that SUV - it looks mean, wide and very sporty. I´m impressed by that Mercedes - I should not like it, but I really do. X4 have to see it in real - I usually like BMWs a lot but the X series (except X5) is not to my liking - this might be better. MG is very good too. Ford Escort is plainly lame don´t bring that one.
1
Hopefully there will be a lot more reviews of this "Magnificato Beast" - im´ sorry to say this Auto Express, but this was not the best review you ever did. It feels like you really dont´let us in with the F12. There must be more details and driving feedback on this F12 worth showing. And the comparison with a F1 was okay the first time, but it really does not say much all in all. Thanks for the review anyway ;).
1
It has a terrible great soundtrack - like a race car, just slightly refined - epic
1
I think when you and I are dead, they will still be around. This is though a daring step for BMW and M-Division is a complete different approach I agree. But that i3 step and the next generations of car buyers could be the reason we will see BMW in the future. If you compared it to computers you would properly be a PC user but having one of the first generation iPhones (I mean acquiring it at the time it was released with no competition). BMW i3 is new market.
1
Not as annoying as the Cars
1
Nice review and better than the 90 sec´s ones. And its a really nice package this RS3.
1
Well i could seem so, but it´s not a bad one to take it from.
1
yes it looked quite good.
1
Looks better than a Prius - it´s like a modern contemporary family hatchback.
1
They have hit spot on with this Evoque, damn good work.
1
Well if you live in california this might be the exactly the right 2nd car for fun at the beach etc. I like the classical Landrovers a lot, but i also like this concept - it´s in short Funky. With The more normal versions im´ not so keen - saw them all at IAA 2011 and for non buggy style think the Range Rover Evoque will sell better. Would like to see a really terrain eqiupped/rugged version of this one with open space in the back.
1
Renault is in the mid/lower section for Brand appeal - though their latest hot hatches drive so well that enthusiasts would take any Brand if the car is good. I seen some Renault Megane (RS) and other sport versions on the German roads occasionally - more than Ford Hot Hatches and ex. VW Polo GTI - but I do not know the sale numbers, it´s just a personal impression. Both Renault, Peugeot and Citroen are sold in large numbers to the general public - sitting in the absolute average with VW on top.
1
Do you mean If there will be an electric M car?. if so - I think not in the near future - the i8 will be the that equivalent. One might see an M Hybrid in the near future, but thats another story.
1
Hmm yea well I just took another look at high res images of the car - And yes they are quite big the headlamps, but apart from that I must disagree with you on the looks. I find it overall really well proportioned and I love the wheel arch shoulders and and the lower bended center crease line. Perhaps the rear is the most bland, but I actually like the front. Anyways what beauty is is always to the one that sees ;).
1
Yes i must agree with GODZM3, review was to short. Was missing driving info, while driving, some detailing on practicality, space for rear passengers, boot, breaks, interior quality etc. A new 4x4 system must also be taken on - whats the driving experience between rear the wheel version and 4x4 version - which one to choose. All in all there must be a lot more to review if the car is all new. The review was not bad but just not detailed enough.
1
Well he said is was beautiful and he would take of over the other 2 even just for the looks. Just that this particular model was not so inspiring to drive. Honestly first gen of nearly anything technologically advanced like a car, always need some tweaks and adjustments. And this is a brand new Mercedes platform as far as i know right ?
1
Yes he has a good voice and a nice flow of speech. And yes the Q3 even in this RS version is a really ugly car.
1
You can´t say always, even that you do not like the i3, e.g. the Tesla S is not exactly an ugly car, it is rather elegant and contemporary. Even the little ZOE ,being rather feminine, never the less has some charm and can not be called ugly either. So it is not always ugly. But I will agree that the profile of the i3 has become quite messy - I thought the late i3 Coupe concept was looking very promising - and I hope BMW will bring on that more elegant version of the i3.
1
--> Or at least if you are smart and research on health issues in this regard you consider it. So if think a little further than your front door and you wan´t to contribute to a better city environment EVs makes quite a lot of sense. Just think about how we removed the heavy industry out of our central living environment over the last decades, for good reasons - EVs are merely an extension of that same process. -->
1
Yes quite well reviewed and a good vid I agree. The car it´s not much to my liking though, I miss the classic BMW "Hoffmeister Kink" at the B pillar and the profile seems quite heavy at the rear without being sporty - but like everything it´s a matter of personal taste. I would take either the 3 series sedan or estate over this one. Also the GT branding has been bugging me for while - think most people will associate it with Sportiness and not Grand Turismo.
1
Then it will be absolutely beastly - But some crazy tuners might going to try who knows - It´s been seen before putting the larger brothe engines in the smaller cars, Hamann bmw´s etc. ;)
1
Actually the Panamera looks quite ugly on photos and Camera. I now live in Germany for some time and have seen some Panameras around and i must say it looks better in reality. Think the first CLS was looking better than 2nd genration. And the Audi i find a bit dull looking to be honest - but perhaps it will last longer that way. I dont´like Mercs much so id take the Panamera, thou its a close call between those 3.
1
Good Review, Thanks ;)
1
Honestly I think this Clio will sell quite well, but it might not sell as well to the enthusiasts group as earlier versions. Overall it will have a broader appeal to small families where dad or mom also want some sport for a fair price. It´s a more rounded product with a broader appeal - for the enthusiast it´s a bit of a set back. C. Harris mentioned that it could easily be tuned to about 250 Hp - if that is true, then some Enthusiast will definitely consider it.
1
-> You can buy a 15k car but it´s not going to be a new BMW and that might not appeal to buyers who earn enough money to own a BMW. Those buyers will still be able to afford traveling so it´s not a real issue. In the first selling phase you will buy this car because you can afford to make that environmental statement. Later when much more cars are Hybrid or EVs you will continue buy by brand values. Next generations of car buyers have quite different value sets and the brands needs to adapt.
1
It is a very tricky aspect for BMW no doubt. That said they do not do this for fun - it´s a based on strategy and analysis of what future buyers most likely will need. The values of next generations of car buyers will extend as far as to autonomous cars. EVs are just the start of a complete changed car landscape over the next decades to come. The visionary brands will wan´t to learn and adapt to be able to sell their products and maintain brand presence. The i3 is new market - i8 is in between.
1
Well it is related to emissions and a view on our planet as a whole. So it is wether you agree or disagree to those subjects related to environmental statements. You buy the car to project that statement or in the belief that it is better overall for the environment. Secondary It might make sense to drive an electric car to work everyday if that is what one does. If you are going to buy a house/apartment in a dense city you also consider area pollution factors to the place that you buy --->
1
I did not see that one coming I must admit, quite surprised.
1
Lol - yes it is actually ;)
1
Honestly i dont´think this car is ugly, it´s not beautifull in sense of classicism or "romantics" - actually i almost find this production car to be more whole than it´s concept. It´s very modern British, dynamic, edgy and i love that i "dares" a bit more that others in this segment - and i like the slope design much better for this size than the ex. an BMW X6. I love the Range Rover but in this review it start to feel a bit old for looks IMO. Think it´s gonna sell very well.
1
Good Review, entertaining, a bit off at some points but making the difference not being yawnish, fast editing, decent camera. Thumps up - Thanks
1
LoL
1
Well luckily we are apparently gonna get some AMG engines in the future. Fitting a Mustang engine in an Aston would be putting the whole Aston brand value at risk IMO - And that has nothing to do with power or any other logical reasons.
1
Great Review - did he do the sideways himself ?.
1
The Q3 is the most boring looking AUDI in late years - every time I see one I shake my head - It´s clumsy and hold no elegance as a lot of other AUDI´s does. It looks a lot better in the RS trim but put it next to an Evoque and the Rover is miles ahead in the design of small SUVs.
1
Yes i liked the review actually, very accurate, good details, precise, fitting to a Golf. Was not so inspiring and perhaps lacking something about the drive, but again thats what they all do more or less.
1
EhhhUhhh mnnmmnn! – Don´t know what to say really...I hope it is one of those cars that looks better in reality than on footage – I guess my expectations from the lovely Concept photos brought my expectations up high. Right now I am not sold on this design – Never have I seen a BMW with such a large front wheel overhang – I guess it must be safety standards that are pushing the noses forward on new cars – pretty it is not. The rear box section over the wheel arches are weirdly resolved and the very long tail adds to the overhangs of both front and rear when seen in profile. I wish I could yell - Yes BMW! you nailed it but I just can´t. Sorry.
1
Cant´remember which program it was, but someone said that they believe we actually already reached Oil Peak. Because looking at someone like BP it seems that their production curve has been more or less flat the last 1-2 years period. I mean take the oil prices in europe, when that kind prices or something that comes close to it, hits the US, there have to be changes coming.
1
It´s a good looking WRC car that DS3
