  1. Yes, and every case can so easily be contested in court as well. Simply have exact time of accident, and your lawyer issues a subpoena for call metadata (the carrier will give that, showing active data use or voice use, with no problem) and this then will lead to an additional charge of giving a false statement. Plus being found 100% liable for all damages as well.

  2.  @tigerwulff  Yes he could have a ticket, or the vehicle could be declared unroadworthy, in that it no longer complies with the original manufacturer specifications. turns out in most areas doing such extreme modifications can make the vehicle unsafe to drive in anything other than a straight line, and worsen the cornering ability as well. Plus there are also regulations about wheels protruding beyond the side as well, he could find himself being sued if he ever scrapes against a pedestrian or another vehicle, and losing the case and the vehicle as well.

  3. Cybertruck is ug leeeeee. Looks like a Toyota TUV, which got the nickname of Totally useless Vehicle pretty fast, being designed as a low cost vehicle, based on the tried and trusted Toyota Stallion pick up, but with flat panels. Not much cheaper, and not popular either.

  5. Sam, 100 % the other driver fault, you were doing a protected left turn, and they did a right on red when there was traffic in the intersection, making them fully responsible for the accident, because they failed to ensure the intersection was clear before doing the right on red.

  6. Yes airbags are what they are called, Supplementary Safety System, they are not the primary safety system, which is the seat belt. If you drive without a seat belt, and are in a collision, the airbags are not going to stop you from being flung out of the vehicle, or keep you from being injured. Reduces injury in conjunction with the seat belt, but not if you are not wearing the belt.

  7.  @logitech4873  The screen is Vin locked, along with the ECU and powertrain and battery modules, so you need the Tesla specific software, and an Internet connection, to service the vehicles other than changing fluid and brakes. Fluids as well, aside from brake fluid, are only available from Tesla as well, ordered by the VIN of the vehicle, and only sold to registered repair shops.

  9. Well, because likely last time brakes were serviced was when it was still under warranty, and he stuck black tape over that yellow ABS warning light that has been on for the last few years. Still thinks it is fine "because the truck still stops"when he puts pedal to the floor, even if it does only have a single working set of pads on it, as evidenced by the pulling to the left.

  13.  @shimoncohen95  Guy bought a brand new Carrera 4S, and had it totalled, with under 1000km on the clock, in less than a week. Bent like a banana, after being hit on the driver door, and sent 50m down the cross street. He walked away uninjured, and that door was still capable of closing and latching. But written off, more for the chassis being bent badly around the core, and the 14 airbags having gone off to protect him. Would guess he immediately went back and got another one the next day, or at least ordered one. The Fiat Uno that hit him was crushed all the way back to the firewall, engine and gearbox did the impact absorption and folded under the vehicle.

  18. rental van all you need to do is name the rental company as the other party. they will simply put the entire cost on the card the other driver has on file, and as well will make him pay for the damage to their van as well. No need for any sort of waiting for legal, you just sue the rental company direct, they pay up, especially if it falls in small claims territory, and they in turn will go after the van renter for the costs, not caring if the renter was the driver, that is up to the renter to sort out, but pay up first, before you get taken to the cleaners.

Last one at a minimum that bus driver will lose his driving permit allowing him to carry fare paying passengers, which means that he cannot even get a job as Uber driver, only for Uber eats, which pays a lot less. All the passengers on the buses will however be claiming for damages and injury, especially those who were on the impact sides as they likely all got injured by broken glass.

  22. Landscape truck hitch not connected correctly, and they never bothered to put the safety chains on. So while towing it came loose, and when it hit the median likely a can of gas, very likely loose in the back of the trailer, because they had just filled the plastic can, or had filled the grass cutting equipment, came flying forward, and ruptured on impact with either garden tools, or the front of the vehicle. liquid poured out the side, and was lit by the sparks of the side metal scraping on the concrete barrier. You can see from the smoke and the darkish flame, this was 2 stroke fuel mix, the oil only partly burning as it was dripping out of the bottom and sides of the trailer. If it was like any landscaper, the fuel was in a plastic 25 liter container, probably with no lid, as that had long ago been lost, and the fuel had made the plastic yellow and brittle with time.

Looks like a lot of the cases here the Tesla driver is driving on what would be classed as unroadworthy tyres, as you can see many with the aquaplaning and rubber in accidents there is either minimal tread depth, or the tyres are worn below the minimum depth, so the car barely has any roadholding in even damp weather, let alone hitting a small puddle at speed. Just because it is an EV does not mean nothing wears, especially in a vehicle as heavy as a Tesla, which is well known to wear out tyres, and the ones rated for use with it are expensive.

Those masts are not cheap, and they are not cheap to install either, as all the old hardware will mostly need replacing, and then you need to fill the mast with foam as well, after all the runner tubes are in place. too much and you will split it again.

  28. Yes time for Chloe to get a lawyer, and sue the renter for all the damages, plus the cost of the loss of vehicle. The renter can claim somebody stole the truck, but as they were the negligent party in claiming they left it with keys in it, and a quick subpoena for the location of the renters phone location logs will very likely show both active calls and data use, plus also that the location of the phone corresponded with the freeway route at that time as well. Then they can also face the added charges of lying under oath, making a false police report, and insurance fraud as well. Pay the damages plus all legal costs, just needs a phone number, a semi decent lawyer and a subpoena to the phone provider for the metadata for that time period. All the data will be handed over immediately, and will show that the renter was driving, or at least their phone was in the vehicle, and was actively being used, and any calls made or received (the likely cause of the lane departure) can easily be traced back to them as well. Do not think family and friends will want to lie when the result is a 6 month prison sentence.

  30.  @Procrastinator1948  By me the most common form of trailer hitch is firmly attached to the vehicle, not something you can remove without a few minutes and some tools. All the same 50mm ball hitch as well, a standard that all trailer manufacturers have. Otherwise it is a plain pin and loop, and not allowed on public roads, unless attached to a tractor and doing under 20kph. Anything else and it is a fifth wheel, and very few light commercials have a fifth wheel, aside from those with large trailers, that move around things like styrofoam, foam and mattress units.

  32.  @TrekkerMoto  Mercury switches are long gone from SRS modules, they all use MEMS sensors these days, which are both very reliable, very fast and also position insensitive, so will not give a false output if upside down. The controllers are also permanently powered direct from the battery, so will delay for a few seconds on power being connected for self test, and if upside down will just set a fault code, for the sensors being in incorrect orientation. Central module and then possibly others in crumple zones to provide info on rates of crumple, so the main module can determine impact force and direction, and thus which airbag outputs are going to be fired. Also seat occupancy detectors, so that only the driver and passengers actually in the vehicle are protected, and the others are not fired unless needed.

  33.  @chrisruggiero9043  Yes as Amazon is the one supplying the trailer, they will know exactly who was the supplier of the rig that was moving it, and will also have logs of the trailer from the on board tracking unit as well. Time to take them to court, if the amount is under small claims file there, otherwise regular civil court. As they are the owner of the trailer, they cannot disclaim liability.

Military the most fun vehicles are those with the extra plates front and rear "state authorised to exceed speed limits", along with the military registration. Clocked through a speed trap, and the officer just waved at me. might have been the plates, or that he had a mouthful of tacks, and a cable in the one hand, along with a hammer in the other. don't know what speed I was doing, the needle was stuck firmly on 0, other side of the pin.

  37.  @Cruor34  Fleeing driver will lose, as he would have been shown to be exceeding the speed limit, and thus the turning driver would have had time to clear the intersection before the other party, who if they were travelling at legal speed, would have arrived there. Plus the whole fleeing the scene screams either they were under the influence, or had something incriminating in the vehicle as well.

No 7 both to blame, trailer driver for changing over an intersection, and car driver for failing to check the intersection was clear before taking the right on red, as an accident doing that is going to be blamed on them for jumping the red light. No8 that van driver has ABS, so he was likely on the phone, and slammed on the anchors while steering to the right, and probably the ABS failed to work because he long ago did not fix that orange warning saying ABS fault, because "it still stops" was his thought.

Then can also sue the other driver for the time he lost, at whatever his hourly rate works out to, plus legal fees. That will possibly educate the other driver a little, on why he should not be a canoe.

Eduardo's mother needs to also probably add a bollard or three at that spot, seeing as it has been damaged before, so either add bollards to demarcate the area off limits, as a way to keep the drivers, likely needing to make a exit from a poor angle, or instead move the drain spout from there, and raise the roof there slightly, or at least remove the existing sheathing, and make it open to the sheet height.

Running a red light is illegal by me, though mostly ignored by the minibus taxi drivers, because those 200 10 seconds in a day do add up to another round trip. Plus they will stop in the middle of an intersection, and in the middle of the freeway, to drop off or pick up passengers.

Second one comes with a much larger fine, and also a visit before a judge to be sentenced. No 5 yes, driving fast, on a winding road, will result in you stepping out with loss of traction in sharp corners. There is a reason most of those winding roads have a much reduced speed limit, often because the camber of the road is incorrect, due to it being the same as when it was constructed as a flat road a century ago, and most vehicles were incapable of doing more than 40kph, so marking down to 40kph was kept in modern times.

  50.  @WastedTalent-  Yes the cart is owned by the store, and it is negligence on part of the store to have them roll about. By me you take a cart out, there is a person or ten who will return it for you, though I will often just roll it back to the bay, and walk back to the car. Extra 50 steps either way is not a thing that could be classed as a killer to avoid.
