+stvo2009 No it wasn't. You're talking utter nonsense and making it up as you go along to suit your own irrational emotional needs.
43
MadeAUsername Yes. The hippo survived, lived for ever happily after, had 25 baby hippos and they all played happily with lion cubs..
39
Thank god 'smellavision' has yet to be perfected...
29
+Empty Soul Agreed. And nobody asked whether he was a vegan also. But of course he had to share...
24
+Steve Smith These dogs eating quickly has less to do with them being hungry and more to do with the possibility of larger animals such as lions or hyenas showing up and stealing their kill. It's a tough world out there for them and they don't have the luxury of eating at a leisurely pace like you and I.
23
It's all about intimidation, bluff and standing one's ground. Not to mention a numbers game.
14
+Kruger Sightings Interesting how blasé the hippo was and why it didn't turn around to face its attackers, making use of its formidable teeth. Maybe at this point the lions had been harassing it for quite sometime and exhaustion had set in. Compelling footage from you chaps as always. Thank you.
11
CL Editz You're pointing out the obvious.
10
The mother was surprisingly ineffective at protecting her calf. These cape buffalo are usually far more aggressive in these situations. Strange.

deluded griper What does: "None of your words have meaning or weight to it" mean? Staggeringly idiotic grammatical error. And it's spelled 'you're' and not "your", ya thick clown. Once more, nobody asked, cares or gives a crap about you being vegan, boy. Except you. Fingers crossed you'll get a stick of asparagus and a basic course in grammar/written English for your 14th birthday:) LOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom tonka You are correct - wild dogs and hyenas are statistically Africa's most accomplished apex predators. Due to their stamina, intelligence and cohesive teamwork, they both have a very high kill success rate. Far more so than their rivals the lions.
6
69zenos1 I've never physically seen Mount Everest but know it's there/is real.
6
BigBrotherMateyka You statement is incorrect given the impala population is very healthy throughout Africa and not remotely endangered, therefore clearly highlighting the fact many many impala reach adulthood in order to breed/make this possible. This is due to them being highly aware of the danger surrounding them via acute senses, and the fact they're incredibly fast, nimble and athletic. Here is a link you may find interesting. https://www.ewt.org.za/Reddata/pdf/Artiodactyla%20(36%20assessments)/2016%20Mammal%20Red%20List_Aepyceros%20melampus_LC.pdf

vivid griper This is a nature video. Yet you manage to tell everyone unsolicited you're a vegan. Great. Again, nobody cares and nobody asked. What next - you'll tell everyone you like wearing ripped nylons and a Nazi uniform, and enjoy playing tennis on Sundays? And now you're sounding finger waggingly pedantic, passive aggressive and judgemental. Now that didn't take long did it...:) LOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!
6
Alberto Jorge Emper That's original.
6
@jefftX Many farmed animals raised for human consumption live most unpleasant lives prior to slaughter. This is in far contrast to animals who are killed by predators in natural settings - while viewing this is often troubling for lily livered types such as you, it's over quickly. And - more importantly - it's the natural order of things/the endless cycle. Get your facts straight, Jeff. Thank you.
5
@Mike D Of course she was old and/or injured; a healthy lioness in her prime would've been far, far more aggressive.
5
+myworldyourmusic11 Not exactly. Hyenas are primarily hunters and very efficient too. Like many animals, they are opportunistic and certainly won't look a gift horse in the mouth. As this footage plainly reveals...
4
stephen dwyer stephen dwyer=angry, pissed off little troll with zero understanding of the animal kingdom.
4
@EyesAreStrongest Not adult elephants, rhinos and hippos...
4
Kannan Oxford Maybe because it's the largest living land animal...just a hunch.
4
@schmingusss Yes, and not to mention soul crushingly unoriginal. And the masses lap it up. Mediocrity. It sells.
4
The role of a professional wildlife camera crew is to be silent, observe and record. And never get emotional.
4
renzer0 That's original.
4
@JUAN ROMAN Explaining sarcasm ruins sarcasm so I won't bother.
4
KurtleTheTurtle Not for humans to interfere.
3
KurtleTheTurtle So you're 12, smoking your dad's weed and not paying attention in school. Forgive me, but your appalling grammar and Utopian naivete makes it very very difficult to take you remotely seriously. How about you put yourself out of misery instead of the buffalo. Please....
3
KurtleTheTurtle Get back to me when you start a sentence with an upper case letter and don't say "it" twice needlessly. Oh. And watch that temper also, boy:) PS. Let me know when every animal being killed/eaten by another gets "help." Idiot.
3
@dnacarnive I didn't see an elephant in the video!
3
Jeff T Oh Jeff, just stop with way too much personal information and whinging publicly online about your "depression." Boo hoo ho - cry me a river. Just watch and enjoy this remarkable footage without blubbering unsolicited. Thank you.
3
Guess my Poo So what did you get for your 20th birthday? Ho! Ho! Joking aside, you're alright. You write quite well and don't get all pissed off. And you have a sense of humour. All the best, dear! PS. Hyenas are extremely ruthless and efficient hunters with a far higher kill rate than lions when it comes to bringing down prey. And lions are statistically more prone to steal the kills of hyenas than the other way around. And what's puzzling is that you seemingly attribute human values, moral and ethics to hyenas chasing the lions from their kill. To use a cliche, it's a jungle out there and hyenas are no more or less opportunistic than lions or many many other predators. It's a numbers/strength game and the hyenas won here. Tomorrow it could be the other way round. Make sense?
3
Ofri Klein Why?
3
Offal Kline Try to sound more like a silly 7-year old.
3
@sortirdelesclavage8592 The result would be the same on land.
3
Annapacha Clarke Hush...and stop being so silly.
3
+sam smith Aside from moronic comments on YouTube mentioning jesus, nature is in great shape...
2
+KurtleTheTurtle Because this happens all the time, has been for centuries and will continue to do so. Nature. The cycle of things. Survival. What ever you want to call it. Therefore the job of a professional camera crew is not to change or alter history, but to record it.
2
Unusual to see a leopard caught so unaware.
2
Great footage and still shots, making up for your grossly misleading video titled "incredible battle between hyenas and wild dogs..."
2
Mahthias Fountain Many many animals eat prey alive, lions included. Never a great idea to attribute 'morality' to wild animals programmed to do what they do and surviving as best they know how.
2
OMGUKILLKENNY2 No shit.
2
+spam WRONG "That was horrible to watch", you say. Then don't watch.
2
+Livinghighandwise It looks nothing like a wild or painted dog which is a social pack animal that rarely - if ever - hunts alone.
2
It really is tough out there for impalas...
2
@pauldatche8410 Wrong. '3 male lions rip warthog apart and eat it alive.' Video link below. And there are many more videos of lions doings this. Like hyenas, they have to eat best way they know how... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sxDwxRMWAs

lil' jeff the WHINGER Sorry for the late reply. Had to take my Smart car to the shop. Not to worry as I've got a really good joke. Hell, it may even bring a laugh and cheer up a sad, self-absorbed whining, pitiful little wretch like you. Ready? What's the difference between YouTube user Jeff T (aka lil' jeff the WHINGER ) posting whining cry baby unsolicited crap on YouTube and a 7-year old girl with a paper cut? The 7-year girl doesn't cry as much and is less pathetic. Good, eh? Did you manage to see that video I sent you. Time to harden the fuck up, wee jeff...
2
@alycran So true! How awful (ha!) of them to film what goes in the natural world when you're busy eating cheeseburgers!! Maybe next time read the video title before watching...
2
@bartbullock7817 "What they don't tell you, That hyena had killed their puppies a couple of days before", you say. Really? Do you have proof?
2
@fartfullofbollocks7817 Cheers, buddy matey boy. And fair play to you.
2
@jfziemba And you are so old and wise...
