The corporate / government / CIA / spies / tech types... operate on a level where since all the dirty stuff they do is all in the non-material plane (information) they argue it is their "Right" to use information as they please. The root Cause is that these abstract entities are dealing with the abstract entity we know as a "Citizen" so it's: Abstract ----> Abstract. In the distant past all things were: Real ---> Real. ...so it's the abstract nature of information that is the root issue. ----------------------- To "cure" this problem we would need to restate that the abstract "Citizen" (actually it's capitalized so CITIZEN) was sovereign and so all his abstract virtual realities were protected by something like a copyright. Therefore.... "My abstract title as a CITIZEN has copyright protection and theft or use of it is illegal." Or something like that...

  21.  WarScorn  I was in the original dot.com bubble. At that time it was about "getting in place" quickly. The tech companies now are very secure giants. It's not at all similar. The better analogy is with Standard Oil (or the Railroads) and the Trust Busting Era where these oil companies became so huge and the monopolies so corrupted that it was necessary for some Trump like president to break them up. My guess is a big part of this coming election with be Trump arguing that Free Speech should be required on American based internet social media. Trump will then link censorship with oppression and whoever he is running against. "Vote for Trump and you get Free Speech back or do nothing and go to the Camps eventually."
