  2. You can spend the money to update and you'd be lucky to get all that money back. Most of the time you won't. Just make it look the best you can and put it on the market. Use what you get for it to buy a tiny home with brand new appliances. It's still a seller's market out there. Best of luck to you. 💕

  3. Get several together and start making plans. I've seen a 10 acre plot for $10,000. If you have 10 seniors in that's only $1,000 each. If all the land is buildable you could have 20 seniors owning a half acre and that would be $500 each for a half acre to put your tiny homes on. It's doable

  4. It is going to be hard all over. The lucky ones are going to be the ones willing to take in more family members and they pool their resources. Grandma can help with the babysitting and cooking and grandpa can teach gardening and carpentry. The younger can help with chores while mom n dad hopefully can earn enough money to keep the roof over their heads. Let's hope all have this possibility

  5. When going a big hill you might want to turn off the air conditioner while going up it. It will make it easier for your vehicle to go up the hill and save you a little gas because your engine isn't working so hard

  7. Renting a vehicle without milage restrictions would be much cheaper than renting a room and after living in your van for four years anyone would be much more comfortable being mobile for a month or so. Great idea 👍

  8. I put the ice in several good one quart baggies. Most of the time no leaks and you can put the baggies in several different spots in the cooler. Plus they are reusable and you can use the melted ice water for doing dishes or washing your hands or you can drink it

  19. Mine too! They want to cut every program that doesn't help the rich. I'm disabled senior who doesn't have the ability to work long enough to earn the money to put a roof over my head let alone to earn enough for everything else. He's planning to cut not just SS n Medicare but also SNAP, Housing, Heat Assistance and any of the other safety nets that were inacted to save the poor from dying. I won't have the money to even get myself to a grocery store let alone pay for them. Multiple millions more elderly will be in the same boat, I won't be the only one begging for help. What pisses me off is that he won't cut our taxes one penny even though we are not getting any of what our taxes once paid for. What are they planning to do with all this saved money?

The saddest part is the government usually pays more for the apartment then the landlord would have gotten on the open market and then when other landlords here that someone is getting that higher amount they assume they can too and boom 💥 rents go up. Happened in my hometown when low income housing got built

  25. I take a 25¢ ramen noodle package n add some leftover chicken from the night before and a handful of frozen mixed veggies about 1/3 cup. Bring water or broth to boil, add veggies let cook for about 3 minutes add chicken and noodles and cook for another 3-4 minutes and you have a quick, cheap n healthier (then just ramen) chicken noodle soup for 2. Cost is about $1-$1.25 per serving. I like adding the dry onion, garlic powder and cayenne pepper to mine

  27. Many times I have heard this comment "how can that Mexican afford that truck? He works for a farmer". I would tell them we could afford more if we lived like many of them do. There are several generations under the same roof. Grandma n grandpa help with what they can like cooking, babysitting, yard n money management. While the older kids, neices n nephews, aunt's n uncles work. Someone in the family is usually a backyard mechanic. Here in America we've broken our families up into such small groups we no longer have any kind of support when needed 😢

I remember when I was on AFDC (aid for families with dependent children) I got a $15 raise in my check but I lost $15 in my food stamps and lost $15 in my heat assistance so instead of being ahead I was $15 in the hole. I said to dhhs how about you keep your $15 in extra "help". I was told that maybe I didn't need any help then. Ridiculous

  42. Your shower is just like mine except mine also came with a kitchen sink sprayer nozzle. That's what I use because like you said that sprayer you have can go through 5 gallons of water fast. The kitchen sprayer nozzle works great

  45. I don't know about other states but in Maine they give seniors a break on their property taxes as a way to make it less likely for them to become homeless but you have to apply for it. There is several different programs design to help seniors who can't afford it or the disabled who can't

  46. When my kids were little I was on AFDC (aid for families with dependent children) when I got a $15 raise in my monthly check. This was considered historic for the state to do. I was very happy until food stamps informed me my benefit would be dropping by $15. But then I was informed that my fuel assistance was going down by, you guessed it, $15! That historic raise of $15 had cost me $30 in help. I heard that people lived in low income housing had to pay $15 more for rent as well as losing food stamps and heat assistance. I asked my AFDC worker if I could give the $15 raise back and all she said was "well maybe you don't need any of the money we're giving you then". Jeez

  48. I was shocked when subway asked if I wanted to tip! The payment terminal at many places ask if you want to add a tip. I'm like 'are you kidding me!'. I don't like that one little bit. Plus how do I know if the person who is checking me out is who actually gets the tip or maybe it just goes to the owner of the business. I'll be real pissed if Walmart starts putting that question in at their checkouts
