Hi everyone! Kat, Mary, Gloria n Pam. Kat you're looking so good. I knew if anyone could get thru this you could 😊💕🙏. I wanted to be in Quartzite for the RTR but have gotten sidetracked. Maybe later in the month if weather permitting

@theodorabruin4601 Fox news is NOT real news
3
@eddymahon1503 they meant MSNBC and they are calling them commies because they tell the truth about trump
3
@nowchanlahkesis9691 ?
3
That's a good saying

I guess I'm going to have to put my emergency fund in my purse instead of leaving it in the bank
3
If a loan is new income then the payments you make to pay that loan back needs to be considered as expenses. How can a loan be considered income??? You don't get ahead with your money, as a matter of fact you lose money because of the interest you have to pay 🤦🤷🤦🤷

Nebraska grows corn for other countries as well as ours. They have corn oil producers and corn fuel ⛽ producers. You're right, there are many parts where the corn grows so tall you can't see the houses even if they were there. Miles and miles. I lived in York, Nebraska for several years. Ate at the Petro many times and they have the best chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken around. I miss their chicken fried chicken
3
Yes they did

Would it be Letty? She hasn't posted anything on her site for a while. Maybe you should have called the sheriff

My SS isn't enough to pay for rent and a vehicle at the same time and I live in subside housing. That's what I get for spending more time with my kids then working. That's what more women did back then, they only had part-time jobs here and there so we could be at home more. These days the mom's have to work full-time just to help keep the roof over their heads. Anyway I worked less and paid in to FICA less and now I draw less. If I hadn't gotten into subsidized housing I would be living in a van for sure

Many stay for more than 1 reason. First there is those who have been thru a few hurricanes and even with the news n local government telling them how bad it was going to be they had gotten thru the storm with minimal damage so they become complicit. Then there are those who just can't leave what is near n dear to them behind so they stay thinking they might be able to save some of it from the storm. Lastly are those thrill seekers who get off on the adrenaline rush of surviving the storm. No matter what their reason are if it gets real bad and they have to be saved or they end up dead it's plain old sad

Trump is trying to dismantle our government so he can be a king

I know I'm going to be accused of TMI but I just drove from northern Maine to Nebraska in 4 days. Even though I stopped many times I never had a bowel movement the whole way and It took 4 more days after getting here before I finally did. What a horrible feeling this has been. I'm heading onto Quartzite AZ after Thanksgiving and I'm hoping it won't be as bad as the first part of this trip was on my insides

@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 its the extra piece of metal they put on the front of your roof that leans backwards allowing the wind to blow over what you have on your roof. It might have another name but it reduces the drag. On a tractor trailer it reduces the drag from the trailer. Of course what you would use would be much smaller

The Republican led Congress had a hissy about Biden using a totally different part of FEMA's money for housing migrants, FEMA comes under Homeland Security. So the Congress refused to fund FEMA and then went on vacation until the middle of November. Biden can't pass this without Congress's approval. FEMA has dealt with so many disasters this year that they are now broke. Who do you think told the Republican led Congress to not pass the funding? The one who is now campaigning and lying saying that the money was stolen that's who

I had traveled from Maine to Wichita in 95 by myself when I moved there. Stoped at rest areas many times along the way. I drove back to Maine twice a year for a couple of years by myself to see Mom and never had any trouble no matter where I stopped. Then Mom died but I still went back once a year to see my brother and his family for a few years. Still going back n forth every few years and the first time I had any trouble was last fall when I had stopped to sleep. I got woken up by the sound of air escaping a tire. I banged hard on the window and the noise stopped n I went back to sleep. When I woke up I checked the tire and sure enough it was down about 20lbs. Not sure why somebody would do something like that, maybe they hate out of staters or maybe van dwellers. Out of 38 years that was the first time I had any kind of problem but I do realize the country is stressed out and anything could happen at anytime and we should be careful out there 💗🙏💗

@Nickelson28 seniors can't get approved for what? Disability? If they are old enough to retire that is what they get, their retirement. You can't draw on both disability n retirement. It's one or the other

Good tips. Here's one if you are solo camping. If you set up an outside lounge area put at least 2 chairs in it so when people drive by they are thinking you are with someone else. You can put a pair of men's work boots next to one of the chairs. Make them think there is a man around somewhere. I also have a rachet strap that I run from drivers door to the passenger door so no one can crowbar my door. I tie the side doors together, I'm thinking of getting a piece of chain and a carabineer instead of rope. My back doors I haven't figured out how to secure them yet. Maybe you guys might have a clue. They don't have handles that can be tied together

Loving that price!!! 💕💕💕

Godspeed Kat 💗🙏💗

I think you did well in both incidences. Was the woman trying to enter the shower dressed because if she was she was just giving you a hard time

Back during Katrina the US was engaged in the Iraq war which limited the funding for FEMA. Just like now we are gearing up for war in the Middle East so there is no appetite for the kind of funding that FEMA needs to be there for the Americans who desperately needs their help. Plus the head of FEMA is exmilitary and might be a little biased as to who deserves the funding the most. Add in the fact that our president is a Democrat but Congress is being lead by Republicans and the funding for FEMA must be approved by Congress it means that the very people who gave the government the money aren't getting the help needed. I guess Israel is more important to them 🤬

Here I am thinking about being a nomad when there are people trying to get what I have right now, a roof over their heads. Am I being foolish for wanting to be a traveling nomad?

May God ease your stress level 🙏💗🙏

I don't think so. It's what a whole lot of people are thinking too. I don't want anyone to suffer, not a migrant or a veteran. Government has to do better
2
The size could be doable but it would have to be buckled down somehow so the wind doesn't carry it away. I would leave the vents in and put screen over them so bugs don't fly in and you could put a fan up there to help remove heat in the summer. 😊

We need to build smaller and smarter for sure

Maybe he was hoping you would ask him to join you all but just didn't know how to be friendly. You know the grumpy old man type
2
@alexthehomboi she said the music wasn't loud. Just because you can hear it doesn't mean it's overly loud. Maybe he needed to adjust his hearing aid
2
@alexthehomboi he should have left. Have no idea why he would park right next to a crowd of people when there was so much open space
2
@alexthehomboi now why would the people who had been there for several days move when he showed up? That makes no sense

It's not just military families who will suffer, there is over 3 million people who work for the federal government with around 85% of them would be laid off until they pass a budget. That's a whole lot of people who won't be able to pay their mortgage or rent on the first of the month. Or feed their families or put gas in their cars. As you know when you miss a payment for your mortgage or rent or light bill your credit score takes a hit and all the sudden you pay more interest on credit cards or loans and even more for your insurance because they claim you're more of a risk. Gloria did you know that it's against the law for anyone to get in the way of the government doing their job? I believe everytime they have a hard time passing a budget they are not doing their job. That law says that the government must pay their bills so why is it such a Dog n Pony show when that time comes? I'm just as pissed about it as you are

One of the disadvantages of being so connected to all the things you can get connected to nowadays

I did some research and want to address your concerns about the US paying to feed and house illegal immigrants. Illegal and/or undocumented migrants pay taxes when they work. The figures for how much tax adds up to almost 100 billion dollars per year with about 37 billion of that total going to state and local governments. These taxes are paying to house and feed the poorer and newest arrivals of immigrants. That being said there are 48 million immigrants living in the US with most of them being here legally with most of them working and paying taxes just like everyone else working. Now add what they pay in taxes to the 100 billion from the undocumented migrants and that's a whole lot of tax dollars and the people who pay those dollars don't want to see their cousins, aunt's, uncles or former countrymen suffering any more than we want our countrymen suffering. They deserve some say in where n how their tax dollars are spent. Are they taking from the national pot, YES. Are they taking without contributing, NO

Seniors SS is based on what they earned back years ago when wages were lower because cost were lower. That amount doesn't work for today's world where big tech has increased what we earn and spend. This is and will stay the biggest problem SS recipients have forever unless we figure out how to fix it

Since he won there have been companies who have cancelled the Christmas bonuses and started gearing up for layoffs. All in the anticipation of what is coming. Sad 😢
2
It's funny but people in a trailer park were considered trailer trash because their home was on wheels. I think it's a left over hatred for the gypsies from the past. They also considered those living on boats to be river rats. It's plain old prejudices
2
Happy New Years Carrol! I hope all your dreams come true this year 🕊️💗🙏😊
2
They did, they also swore Trump had nothing to do with Project 2025 but look what happened. He started implementing Project 2025 on day one. It does matter what news you watch and Fox news is not the place to go to the real news about trump

You said they are single and some single women look at other women as compitition so they put them down. Even married woman can look at you as competition. I'm not trying to brag but I don't have very many female friends because I in my earlier days was on the prettier side and I was treated like compitition by other women most of my life.

@streetsmartintelligent 50 years ago lots of people had bad teeth and it had nothing to do with drugs but now they instantly think you are a meth head if your teeth are bad. It's sad that's the only reason they can think of when they see bad teeth
2
I 100% agree on the outside windshield cover. It's best to not heat up the glass in the first place. Van dwellers need to do this when parked to the side that's in the sun. It will help keep it cooler or warmer
2
They are going to accuse lots of us of abuse of the system whether or not we did anything wrong and leave it up to the people who are the least able to get a lawyer to fight to get back our benefits to try to get it back. It will the same as it is with SNAP. You are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent which most won't be able to do because of lack of funds, the very reason they are on Medicaid in the first place 😢
2
I used to work for an inventory service and many times I had to count the stock rooms. Stores like Dollar Tree and DG get much of their products from China. A 25% tariffs on Chinese imports would either put these stores out of business or they would have to raise their prices so high they would loose much of their customer base,, the poorer

Every van lifer and RVer needs that adjustable bed! Imagine not having to level the rig to get a comfortable bed. Girl patent that design ASAP.
