I tried numerous times to see him more often and finally got threatened with a jail sentence for contempt if I ever opened my mouth again. There's only so much you can do, but I realize every one has their limit of trying. I do second guess myself a lot as to whether I tried enough.

Child care, home schooling, job, repairs, cooking, cleaning, homestead, etc. When I cannot do it alone I ... wait for it ... pay someone to help me. We have equity. Handle your own stuff. Village = I'm to lazy to do my own stuff. Her: I'm not a breeder. Not every woman has to be a mother. It's my choice.   27.  @badboy-gn8fu  Agreed. Just rolling over and taking it is a worse option ... but from what I'm seeing young men don't have the same set of conditions and circumstances I had as a young Boomer. My solution won't work for them. I am leaning towards advising them to go minimalist and/or leave the West, but I'm not in their shoes and have discovered that my advice to them usually misses the mark ... because I miss the mark on understanding their situation.

  34. When I (very stupidly) married back in 1983, my wife told me on our wedding night, "What's mine is mine. What's yours is mine." The judged proved her right 5 years later. Spot on observation about her being a money-grubbing you-know-what. She went into court with a formula about my life expectancy and that that calculated into me owing her for the next number of decades. She wanted full tuition + housing + expenses until she finished her 10-year bachelor degree. The judge did not accept that. He just gave her 75% of everything (she didn't work) and bent me over on child support.

When she divorced me, the judged declared every single gift I had given her during our marriage to be her personal property and not subject to division. So she got a considerable amount up front before the judge gave her 50% of what was left over. Don't marry in any Western nation with misandrist family laws.
