And Mexicans are usually friendly unlike your northern neighbors.

Another stupid tax but coming from him, no surprise... Zuckerman et the Dragon's den people are going to adopt another nationality. They can always buy the Turkeys passport. A bargain for them
1
It happens all the time and in many countries.....Unfortunately immigration doesn't have a heart !
1
I see what you are saying. They have the same xenophobic gov in Canada unfortunately.. They tax foreigners to death to the point where they feel so unwelcome that many pack and go somewhere else. Sad but true ! There is always an inside story to everything, I guess.
1
Yes she is so mean. She wants to control everybody's money. She taxes people to hell. She has no idea about the principles of 'free economy' or 'laissez faire'. They want more government intervention every step of the way. That's why people want to leave and foreigners don't want to invest in Canada anymore, due to all those discriminatory taxes they have to pay if they come. Eventually, with the ban and over taxation of foreigners, Canada may eventually collapse....because people will go somewhere else where they are treated better.
1
And now with all the sanctions against the russian oligarchs, they won't even qualify since the rest of the world is punishing them confiscating their assets or not allowing them to have a second passport anymore. Soon each citizen will only be able to stay in his country. How sad and boring.....
1
Turkish people are very friendly and your money goes a very long way there. Very tolerant country. @Hannah.115

@nomadcapitalist Singapore is quite far for most of us.
1
Worst country on earth ! The ghetto. The local gangs will steal everything you have. That's the dumbest and most criminal place I have visited. Never again. I am boycotting it now.
1
Housing crash is coming to Canada in January 2023 even though it has already started ? Why ? for 2 reasons : 1. because of the increase in interest rates by the BOC AND 2. because foreigners won't be able to buy anymore.... As simple as that, just bad karma working ! LOL Smart people already got out of the market and left the country before losing their shirt.
1
This golden visais coming to an end very soon as announced by Antonio Costa.
1
Yes and if Zelensky stopped provoking Putin all the time. If Ukraine gives up Donbass, the war if over. What doesn't Zelensky agree to do it instead of having more and more blood on his hands.
1
I feel the same way as this guy you are talking about. 'Keep on going until you either get sick of it or not !'Some countries make you bored quickly, some less quickly....
1
Definitely not ! The gov, has put a several 'rip off/discrimination' taxes', 15% on foreigners buying real estate anywhere on the golden horseshoe in Ontario ; it's 20% in BC, and this year the so improperly called 'vacancy tax' where if you are a foreigner you will be automatically accused of leaving your house or condo empty if you stay less than 6 months out of the year. In other words, if you have a second home in Ontario, you will have to pay a 1% of the assessed value of your home. So if it's assessed at 1 million (quite easy in Toronto or Mississauga) you will have to throw away 10 000 cad a year ! That's insane. Another unwanted government intervention. Finally all the political partis agree to have a 'ban on foreigners who want to buy a property in Canada for at least 2 years' ! Then you ask : 'Is moving to Canada worth it ?' I guess you can answer you own question (also consider all the videos you played lately about that country). And remember you own affirmation "Go where you are treated the best !' Is that a way to make foreigners feel appreciated or even wanted ? Not all foreigners have become rich by throwing money in the garbage or are rich for that matter. There are countries more interesting with friendlier people and government..
1
@necksquad3222 That's very true. Canada makes such a big propaganda claiming is one of the best countries in the world and when immigrants realize that everything is so bad there, the cost of living, the cold the incompetent high tax system the extremely cold temperatures 10 months out of the year, the loser government then they leave that stupid country and realized they have been fooled !
1
True totally incompetent and xenophobic on the top of everything else....
1
P.S. very important to have a train to the airport. Convenient, cheap, especially for those who don't drive and travel often.
1
Yes Europe should have done that a long time ago to protect our borders and get some extra income from foreigners and apply the reciprocity just to be fair
1
@riamriam6758 It's now 400 000 Usd
1
Definitely. Spain has double taxation; that's why I am not going.

Does Amazon deliver over there ?

I almost made that mistake but the 'officials' kept their borders closed for ever during the pandemics, with no way to get there unless you were a permanent resident of Latvia or citizen. Then, unless you work there, they don't let you open a bank account (even if you bring them your previous salary receipts and so on...) , annoying to have to pay your bills in cash at the post office, and you won't have access to their health system that is under funded by the way, and they do not offer private insurance unless you work there and are part of a group. So you have to speak either Russian or Latvian, English is not enough to hold a job there. Salaries are very low. It's dark at 3:30 pm in the winter. In conclusion, they have a very long way to go before they get on the level of European standards. Finally, many offices will just tell you 'we don't deal with foreigners...' even if you are a European citizen. Lol. Just be ready and persistent if you really want to.
1
@Rittlesleo Yes in summer, it only gets dark by 11 pm and at 3:30 am it's already day light !
1
@ladlem3 Yet there are tons of Russians who live and work in Latvia !
1
@MarkRose1337 Yes depressing....
1
Don't worry, the Ukrainians are coming in big numbers soon..... lol

'THE EURO COLLAPES' ARE YOU KIDDING ME ??? IT'S ONE OF THE BEST CURRENCIES TO HAVE. 1 Euro = 1.475 Cad and 1.19 USD. WITH THE EURO, YOUR PURCHASING POWER GOES FAR. WHY WOULD IT COLLAPSE WITH MORE THAN 25 COUNTRIES WHO SHARE THE SAME CURRENCY. YOUR COMMENT REALLY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AT ALL !
1
lol Monaco = 2 square kilometer... and there is a MacDonald if you want a Hamburger. Prices are the same as in any MacDonald. Lol Food is not what is the most expensive but finding a place to live is.
1
Not to mention the heat factor !
1
@2020-q1p Pattaya sucks. The beaches are so polluted with all the boats' exaust system everywhere preventing people from swimming or enjoying the place. Also almost everybody wants to change their sex and become a woman. So you have many ladyboys...
1
@dougm3037 Chang Rai is better

I agree and always the same people who pay them for the "parasites" and now the migrants who don't have much to offer but of course this is not politically correct !

You may be interested in this new discriminatory tax also : Ontario Cracking Down on Foreign Real-Estate Speculation with the Most Comprehensive Non-Resident Speculation Tax in Canada Government Increasing Non-Resident Speculation Tax to 20 Per Cent and Expanding it Provincewide March 29, 2022 Finance Table of Contents Content Quick Facts Additional Resources TORONTO — As part of its commitment to tackle Ontario’s housing crisis by prioritizing Ontario families and homebuyers, the government is increasing the Non-Resident Speculation Tax rate to 20 per cent, closing loopholes to fight tax avoidance and expanding the tax to apply provincewide effective March 30, 2022. The changes made to establish the tax as the most comprehensive in Canada were announced as the government prepares to unveil the next components of its housing supply action plan designed to build more homes in Ontario. Currently, the Non-Resident Speculation Tax rate is 15 per cent and only applies to homes purchased in the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region by foreign nationals, foreign corporations and taxable trustees. Increasing the tax rate to 20 per cent and expanding the tax to apply provincewide will strengthen efforts to deter non-resident investors from speculating on Ontario’s housing market and help make home ownership more attainable for Ontario residents. The Government of Ontario is eliminating loopholes to support Ontarians who are trying to buy their first home by focusing NRST relief eligibility to only newcomers who commit to laying down roots in the province long-term. ONE MORE REASON TO ESCAPE CANADA !!! OR TO NEVER GO THERE... AND REMEMBER 'GO WHERE YOU ARE TREATED THE BEST !' THAT'S NOT CANADA

Starting by its own citizens....

Yes Monaco is one of the best places. If you can afford to buy a property there and live 6 months out of the year, you can get residency very fast ; you can also rent (which is one of the requirements to find a place to live before you get granted the residency). Property value can double in just a few years and since it's a small country, the demand will always be higher than the offer. Results : prices are going up. Once you sell your property, you won't have to pay any tax on capital gain '0'. Bottom line : you will get richer and richer ! Due to extremely high security there, your fortune will always be protected, unlike in some countries like the Dominican Republic or Jamaica or where ever people are poor.
1
@libertarianspirit Amazing I am in Portugal right now but I am afraid it may be a little too late as so many retirees moving here for tax saving purpose.
1
Yes it's true but you also need to have a place to live in Monaco before you ask for residency.
1
@libertarianspirit I meant it's too late in the sense that they are so many foreigners coming in and so few properties that are worth investing into for the required prices that maybe it's not really worth it anymore.
1
@libertarianspirit Yes correct it's more fun for vacation. Decide on where you want to invest in Portugal and really inspect the property you want to buy. They are not well built for the most part. Not well isolated ; most of them don't even have a central heater and believe me, it can get cold in Portugal in the winter. And also keep in mind that the Atlantic oceans is dam cold, unlike the Mediterranean sea where you can easily swim from May until October !
1
@libertarianspirit I totally understand what you are saying. Living in Europe is not very easy if you come from the US. Europeans are usually more close minded and more reserved maybe more 'family oriented; and of course, there's always the language barrier. So many different languages in Europe and different mentalities...It's hard to make friends or even acquaintances. I don't know much about Malta. Personally, i don't really like to stay in an island. I think it gets boring very soon. In Portugal, except outside the big cites, they don't really speak English. The food is cheap, going out is cheap, drinking is cheap, electricity bills are high. Private health care is not cheap either, although not as expensive as in the US. Portugal is very safe and liberal.
1
@libertarianspirit The best then is to rent a property outside the big cities in Portugal. You can have a 2 bedroom for 450 euros/month in the Center Region of Portugal. Only 1 hour from Lisbon by bus and the bus ride will cost you between 2.99 and 5.99 euros. Very convenient without spending the big city rent like in Lisbon. Then you can easily go to Cascais, Estoril and enjoy a day at the beach but don't need to live there. Well, it all depends on your budget and preferences. If you avoid the winter months, the Center is fine.
1
It's basically the same sh-t !
