"The President of Peace" (what him laughing openly as Putin is holding a speech about the importance of the Minsk accords), was talking about nukes, NATO accession was formally NOT RULED OUT (everyone has the right to acceed, but there is no such right in NATO articles), while everybody was talking more sanctions, Russia had enough and took a look see (hasn't even declared war yet, just a Special Military Operation) and then Boris sabotaged the peace talks in Ankara in March last year. This is on the Western tab.

Uranium 235 is not "reactor grade", you want a certain percentage of U238 (3-5%), which is the part that fissions spontaneously. In this case, the VVERs may be running on a mix of U235 and Plutonium (MOX fuel) as one want to get rid of Pu stemming from no-longer used nuclear weapons. That would make a meltdown more unpredictable. In Fukushima, the reactors that meltdown down happened to be the ones that were not running MOX, even so lady luck smiled and blew the Caesium and Iodine fission products mostly out to sea rather than towards Tokyo.

An interesting avenue of research will be to ask veterinarians, apparently mRNA-based vaccines have been used for some time in that branch. Also, what do the blood donation centers say?
