Meanwhile the governor made it illegal to jail the execs for their decisions that killed people. Since 2014, PG&E's negligence has caused 1500 fires. The reason the Dixie fire is so out of hand right now is because some of the fire roads that PG&E are required to maintain, were blocked by trees growing out of them. Firefighters had to stop and clear them out of the way just to get to where the fire was

They can't compel you to give evidence against yourself, they can't force you to talk to the police, they can't force you to take a lie detector test. The only thing they can do is impound the van, cell phones etc and look for evidence of what happened, and they couldn't do that much until she'd been reported missing and he was already at his mother's house by then.
