The US will be selling Germany in the upcoming years discounted high end gear. Including the F-35 and new defensive missile shields. Germany is getting more of the deal in the long term. They are also going to get American engineering to help with LNG systems.
1
Nope towards Ukraine.
1
Abrams tanks are designed to operate as part of wider systems approach to including targeting and comms data. Does that make sense?
1
@williamhenry8914 The word net is debatable in this. They have a fusion reaction but how that would be considered net is a tough one.
1
Pure fantasy but that is the world we today live in where reality is ignored. This is fusion based research not fusion energy stations. I do not think people understand and hear the word fusion and assume it means an energy generation system.
1
It is a drop in the ocean for the US.
1
Even if it was achieved in 2050 it would still take decades to then build out the system. And that would be a 70 year period. It is nothing like the Hoover Dam because that was built with existing engineering knowledge at the time. There is no engineering knowledge for Fusion just a vague science concept that we think we can engineer.
1
Nope not even connected.
1
The public has no idea what any of this means. The media through a lot of headlines and editorial sections could convince the public to throw billions if not trillions into this area of research and it still would have no impact in the short or even medium term.
1
Then you are asking for hundreds of stations to power the whole grid and guess what that will take 50 years to build out.
1
Wait a minute you think they are going to be constructing fusion reactors for every building? That is pure science fiction at present.
1
It is just science research nothing else. It is not an engineering system that can be applied.
1
@firstLast-sn3me Those are all break through areas that I listed that are playing out right now. A science experiment on fusion that very few people understand is not something to get excited about. What you are seeing is nothing more than PR at play and media headlines designed to excite.
1
SO you think his 70 year figure is wrong then?
1
Let us guess you the expert are going to guide us with your tone?
1
Because of the distances involved, bridging generation to substations and the key is to have the most efficient system possible. If there is to be a small number of plants that would be the required approach if it is large number of plants expect it to take several more decades.
1
Nope cannot.
1
Why?
1
You are just as bad with the thorium obsession.
1
But it will still take 70 years for it to play out.
1
So you think there is going to be a grid of fusion power before 70 years time? Think about what you are rallying against in your statement.
1
Your teacher has still not been proven wrong.
1
@KitagumaIgen If you cannot make predictions how can you call out somebody else?
1
OK then explain how they are going to build the fusion reactors at a powerplant level since you are calling the video nostradamus quality?
1
I suspect before then we are going to see clean coal plants, gas plants, geothermal and a host of other solutions pop up.
1
That is pure fantasy at best.
1
The dollar is the only stable currency in the world.
1
@brianjonker510 No. You just avoided by question. D oyou think they can easily build new power plants in existing infrastructure. Yes or no.
1
SO you think they are just going to easily build their new power plants on existing fission reactor infrastructure?
1
It is just fantasy.
1
@ianhollands1641 They were not workable scale reactors and were experimentation systems.
1
That is just as bad in terms of belief systems. It is a theoretical conjecture that is always just around the corner as well.
1
You are discussing a field that took 70 years to play out and then criticizing a guy for giving you a 70 year window for the next big era. Do you not see the irony in your statement?
1
EV is the future but it cannot be willed into place by politics. It has to develop through the market place. Rightnow Tesla cars are a luxury similar to BMW, Mercedes or Land Rover. They are simply not suitable for the whole market place. None of that does not mean a company like Tesla cannot succeed in our current market place.
1
@ralphemerson497 Australia has everything it needs to build its own industries with. Australia also has a growing population and a new consumer market that will be arriving in the late 2020s.
1
@teddybearroosevelt1847 You actually think the average democrat voter cares about any of that. The just voted in an old president to replace an old president. One was offensive and appears not to be with it. Most people do not care about this when buying their products.
1
That is just politics and media and in a few short years their attention could be on something else such as the famines that are around the corner and their occasion with global warming may just get forgotten. Remember when the ozone was about to fall and everybody was going to be completely sunburned, remember acid rain or the destruction of mining on the environment. Those were all crazes of the left that are not long gone.
1
Hybrid is a bit of a myth as well. It is not better for the environment than ICE. Some people like the way hybrid and all electric drive but that is a style and personal usage. Tesla can be a massive market success and may even help to push electric cars along but that does not mean such concepts can be decreed from the top down by policy.
1
The commies that want to ban cars will come after bikes next. And if they get their way completely they will ban walking as well. The Green Movement is really just a watermelon in that it is green on the outside but very red in the middle.
1
I am an EV fan but they simply are not going to take over the market place anytime soon. Governments, politicians and the media are being unrealistic about them.
1
@thomasherrin6798 What do you mean Ireland is a boom and bust economy?
1
Chinese solar manufacturing is like their steel industry in that it is state sponsored. The reason they have such high volumes and cheap prices of solar panels is because the state has backed that sector directly. The main reason they have done this is because western culture has given them the impression that they were all in on it.
1
@BuddyLee23 The Balloon was tracked by the airforce, shot down and everybody knows about it. What exactly do you think China learned from it?
1
@FreedomIsNotGoingToBeFree The vast majority of people in China have no idea what communism is.
1
@HR_8035_YEA I think India is just needing the oil.
1
Most of the small cars are junk and are sold at barely above cost price. Most of the small cars that are manufactured tend to have components from several manufacturers.
1
Tariffs protect US industry.
1
@ronarnett4811 The US has lots of competition.
1
It is called supply and demand. Cars also have to be priced right for the market place.
1
They will only buy then when they are good not when they are below standard.
