Shekhar ji, I have one request and it is about Kolkata Doctors Strike.
I was supporting this strike as I always support people over any government.
But today I have first hand experience of it.
I went to Chittaranjan Hospital Kolkata(near Hazara). Der were many children ranging from 2 days to 5 years and only one senior doctor. Before this strike der used to be 8 doctors to check children. As only one doctor was available now(bcz of strike), So line was very long and those children with serious issues were crying. Parents were helpless.
Der was 1 year baby with her eye badly injured, one with nose bleeding, one 9 month pregnant women with 5 years old daughter, etc.
Everyone was waiting for 2-3 hours der,in that condition.
And what was other caring(?) and protesting doctors were doing?
They were sitting in circles, having tea- biscuits, gossiping, joking and laughing. Der was nothing for the girl killed. Neither they were even trying to help anyone.
I know, In a protest,u cannot always shout and look agitated.
But If you look der faces, u will also understand that this long protest has become a holiday for them.
Again, I am still with them. But it can not continue like this. They are not some IT engineer ot jute mill workers, who will not work for 10 days, nothing will happen.
ONLY POOR People are hurting bcz of this.
Nothing is happening in case and CBI also is not able to arrest anyone else.
Shekhar ji, I fear if it continues like that, one day few patients and der family will beat these protesting doctors. It will be unfortunate but if you see the situation,you will understand why I am saying this.
Just imagine,if ur 1 year child is suffering and the doctors who are supposed to care for them, are sitting der laughing and joking. How will you feel?
It is very irritating.
And if Doctors want to continue der protest, they can do it. Work for ur shift (8hrs) and then join the protest.
Please ask your journalist to check this too. This angle should also be covered.
People are really suffering.
