True light During the july 83 attack on the army Prabaharan participated, out of 13 army around six was killed by Prabaharan. He took on the IPKF face to face, couple of times. LTTE carried out over 200 suicide attacks, over 90% were on military targets, around 10% on economic and other targets, this is where some civilians died as collateral damage, other than that no attack aimed at civilians. No children participated in the suicide attacks, all experienced commandos. Even then they choose the best. If his or her siblings already died in the war then they don't give permission, when a team went to Katunayaka Prabaharan's strict order was not to cause any civilian casualties. Civilians are easy targets, if they can kill over 40 000 army, imagine how many civilians they could have killed over 30 yrs, but Sinhala casualties over 30 yrs by the LTTE not even 4000, so it's very clear they were not after civilians.

@magagefernando4590 Tamils did not want the war either, even after gal oya incident, sinhala only, 58 pogrom, discriminatory policies the Tamils spent anothr 20 yrs under Thanthai Selva to settle problems peacefully, but after the world tamil conference incident things got out of hand a bit. Still Tamils were not into violence, early 1983 the LTTE had less than 30 members, not a big deal for Sri Lankan military, but something made the war last of another 25 yrs, black july. Only after that youths joined the LTTE and other groups by the 1000s, so who do you think pushed the Tamils into the war? Prabaharan said " I am not worried about the outcome, my duty is to fight back".
