  23. Don't for one second minimize Canada's culpability in this war, in no small measure, courtesy of Chrystia Freeland, who oozes with conflict of interest. Canada was one of the first funding, supplying and training Ukrainian forces in Ukraine, particularly the neo-Nazi Azov forces that have been front and centre of the genocide and discrimination against Russian-Ukrainians. Mariupol was the former HQ of the Azov and puts into context the massive destruction of that city by the Azov forces. Canada continues to train Ukrainian forces in Eastern Europe, and has been proactive in praise and help for Ukraine and vilification of Russia and Russians.

The dangerous, mad, irrational hate and derision of Russia (mostly totally devoid of the history and ground dynamics) boiling away in North America today, is an example. The irrational hatred and belief in treasonous, false accusations against Trump are another example. Without professional journalism, there is no democracy, because voters vote in ignorance.   43. The latest news about Svalbard is extremely troubling. Celia Blomdahl, a Norwegian who lives in Svalbard, has a very popular YouTube channel about life in Longyearbyen, the village in Svalbard. A place of amazing beauty, albeit w/ harsh winter weather. She has featured the Russian village, Barentsburg. The main industry in both Longyearbyen and Barentsburg is tourism - coal mining, a historical past. Barentsburg is interesting because of the history of its soviet past. Now it has tours to see the historical buildings, walkway to the mine, and great restaurants. Longyearbyen is fascinating, because every benefit of modern life is available there - so surprising in a place so close to the North Pole. Blocking supplies to the people in Barentsburg is beyond EVIL. What on earth has happened to the collective West that it so easily destroys people's lives, including death in Ukraine, for a manufactured war to tear Russia and Russians apart for MIC profits and potential to plunder resources. This Western aggression is really SICK. Decent people must start vocally and loudly standing up against it.
