2009: Bachelor's 2016: Master's 2017-2022: U.S. Army My degrees had no value until I had a military background.

It's crazy how some people think it's ok to create and post social media content during work hours @ work. Do it during your break! I don't understand what they don't understand about this.
96
I would tell them I’m broke and I’ve lost my job . I’m living in the streets and I’m about to get deported. Can I live with you ? 😂
96
My adopted son is Xhosa and his grandma is very much like this. I now protect him from her anger we watch a lot Sam Speedy to laugh at the issue rather than hurt
95
It really isn’t fair that we all have to work to live but these people are having such a hard time getting hired.
95
I don't know why anyone is surprised by this. We are all immediately replaceable commodities to every company. It is a harsh truth and a fact of life. That is why I am not birthing my replacement.
94
As a parent, it blows my mind how well positive reinforcement works for my child. If I see them being tempted to do something that is not allowed (like playing with wires) and then turning away, I say "good job! I saw that you wanted to play with those wires but you didn't. That's good restraint." And it works so well. The kid feels happy that they were good and they clap and smile. Then they play with wires less. It blows my mind, because growing up people acted like good behavior only comes from punishment but honestly that is simply not true.
94
The job market is so bad that even minimum wage jobs have multiple interviews... and you STILL get ghosted 💯
93
Thinking moving to America will help with cost of living is just ignorant
93
This is EXACTLY one of the reasons why I purchase all my favorite movies on DVD and Blu Ray. When you "subscribe" you're not actually paying to watch or play a game. You're only paying for the privilege of it. And I stress the word privilege because it can be taken away "at will" by the provider for any reason, or no reason at all. That, even though they're taking your money. So, I don't play that game. You, as a consumer, have absolutely no power and no say, even though you're giving them your money. They can do whatever they want.
91
So 2024 advice is graduate with a masters and get a bartender job wow
89
Only 1 interview and people need to stop complying if they ask you for a second interview tell them no and just walk away. Those are the companies that are going to play with you for 3 months and laying you off when your benefits kick in
89
The jobs that expect you to use your own car and the pay is 15 an hour. It's a joke, you're paying more to work than you earn working and that is the problem with jobs right now.
88
13 rounds of interviews is so unnecessary. I can’t believe they’re doing this to people 😔
88
Because you have no real skills! When "college" is the equivalent of a high school degree, and your degree is in marketing or communications or psychology, or any of the hundreds of useless majors, how do you expect a company to hire you? Most of these people will end up back in school pursuing a degree or qualification that someone will be willing to pay you for.
87
1. Rent a Porsche. 2. Record your sales pitch. 3. Get rich by selling training courses to suckers who believe in your scam.
87
I went to tech school and paid my debt off before I graduated. Met my husband, and now I'm a stay at home wife and mother. No debt, thank goodness.
85
There's no such thing as job security. No Industry is immune from layoffs. Always save your $, keep your resume updated, & have a backup plan.
85
Many people out there having to get 3 jobs to make = higher job numbers .
85
The low wages are the result of NAFTA, globalization, and proliferation of the internet around the world. If a job in your field can be performed overseas, your salary will have to be competitive with the foreign workers. For many foreign workers, $10/hr is a lot of money. Large corporations want to maximize earnings. They don't care who they hire as long as they can do the job and are willing to work for the lowest wage.
85
The job market is worse than the dating market.
84
A trend I've noticed is that if you email your CV and they get back to you straight up saying you're the perfect fit, and that your experience is amazing, most like is a scam. Recruiters will not say that since the beginning.
83
Yeah… that college degree really shows how smart you are….. lol… 35k with 2 masters….. 300k in college loans for 35k job… but I’m the dumb one without a college degree…… lol 😂
83
WTF was she planning to do with English & creative writing degree?
83
What about the jobs that wants you to do MULTIPLE assessement tests that can take hours then you get denied or never hear anything back.
83
Once they tell you “I need to check with so and so first” you did not get the jib
82
Doing TikToks AT work or ON the clock is asking for termination, lol. 🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️
82
most jobs now want employees to work 2 times more so they dont have to have full staff
82
This generation is beyond cooked.
82
Boomers had it best. Businesses practically begging to work for them when they got out of college. And most jobs paid a living wage. Plus no Internet, so you could just go into any random place and ask if they're hiring. Or open a little shop or deli or something for really cheap in an rural area that was just starting to grow.
82
Software engineers have coded themselves out of a job. They created all the Lego pieces with open source, now machines can easily put the pieces together.
81
I am a high school graduate and earn more than 45k, my husband did 2 years technical school and makes over 80k… lmao
81
I find it insane! They’ve been rejecting people who are over experienced, rejecting who don’t have experience and rejecting people who does have expedience so wtfff you want???
81
I am trying to pay off everything and save. Stop spending and save your money for a rainy day, and trust me, a rainy day will come. From Lay offs, fired, company buy outs, or replaced via low wage workers. U should have a 12 month cushion in Savings for a rainy day.
80
The Boomers are absolutely clueless about the hiring process these days.
80
Let me be your friend here: This video is not for you 😂 don’t quit that job. You don’t want to be unemployed in this economy
78
To provide sample work should not be allowed. There is no protection for the candidate to have their work stolen.
78
Sorry, but we’re gonna have to deny that empathy claim.
78
I just got laid off. I’m an underwriter. I’ve been applying for jobs the last 2 months. These postings have over 500 applicants. I saw 1 that had 1.050. WTF!! How do I compete with a thousand people.
77
Im an aircraft mechanic.. last year i made 150k.. this job will never go AI.. not a chance in hell. Get your license it only takes bout 2 years..once you get license you can get on with ups, fedex, delta air, united, AA, SW, SPIRIT etc you can be a flight mechanic (preferably) lets do it ladies & gents ✈️
77
This is sad - my sister was laid off in February --- has not been able to find another job!!
76
So many social workers. That job had a low salary 25 year ago when I was deciding on careers. Why are ppl still acting suprised that 90% of SW jobs dont pay enough?
76
I have a bachelor's in Criminal Justice which I never used. It did help me get a job as a insurance claims adjuster where I make damn near 6figures with bonuses. But I went back to school to get a law degree. I dont even need to be a practicing attorney for my degree to increase my salary and job prospects. I tell all college kids to major in STEM so you have better prsopects after graduation. Fuck all those social science degrees (CJ, Marketing, Communication, etc)
76
It feels like we're gonna be the first generation to not push their kids towards a college degree... it's simply not worth it anymore and is nowhere near a garantee that you're gonna be well off in life afterwards. If my son tells me he wants to become plumber, I'll be the happiest mom on earth.
76
The economy is changing and it seems what worked 5 years ago doesn't work today. Find your new way, get creative, work for yourself, do jobs others don't want. Stay positive!
76
One of the things that's gotten bad is the use of employers over relying on an ATS to screen out resumes because sometimes when your resume doesn't have all the key words (that are usually found in the job description) your resume gets put on the very bottom while someone else's who has a good amount of keywords gets shown. We also have a lot of incompetent people in management who either already chosen someone for the job or it was a Ghost Job (a job that doesn't exist). Since the great resignation there has been a much larger conversation around workplace bullying and toxic leadership. It's also great that a lot of states in America have also launched Wage transparency laws requiring employers to put how much compensation is in the position (even if its just a range).
76
This has the same energy as minimum wage gas station chain jobs who require you to travel to a city 3 hours away for 'corporate training'.
75
As someone who went to college and DIDN'T graduate college, seeing videos like this let's me know that going to college for the SHORT amount of time I went, wasn't going to benefit me had I stayed longer. I'm glad I got out when I did. I struggled all throughout elementary and highschool. I even got my equivalency when I wasn't able to finish highschool and even THAT wasn't worth getting! I don't care what anyone says: can we normalize NOT asking someone if they have their highschool diploma/GED if it has nothing to do with whatever job in question? Let's also normalize that having a degree doesn't make anyone "deserving" of a job vs. someone without one. 😢 Its always one thing after the other: • Education, no skills • Skills, little to no education • BOTH education + skills = "overqualified!"
75
Vector Marketing got me right out of college. Smelled the BS and walked out of the “interview” halfway through 😂
75
Layoffs really isn’t a surprise. Layoffs are planned months in advance.
