As a tradesman I fully understand. When you make a living with your tools you want the better tools. It’s a pain to start using a tool and it doesn’t work because it’s been overused because it was designed for the homeowner.

I have been watching your videos, not because I needed the info they provide but because you make a darn good video, always interesting, you have a good style in your delivery, good camera shooting, diagnosis process, the repair. Oh hel I'll just keep on watching. Thanks for the entertainment.
62
It’s so much more interesting when things go wrong, and you find solutions to fix the problem that’s out of the norm. 👍🏼👍🏼
62
The world needs more mechanics like you Ray, looking forward to the video!!

This storm is an entire FU to Florida. Haven't seen one on a path like this in many years. Keep your head up. Get rest when you can. The next couple of days you won't be getting much. God Bless you and the family. 🙏

Unfortunately I’ve worked with a few guys, who like you have the experience, but unlike you view a tyre change as beneath them. Clearly you are happy to help when needed and we desperately need more of you in the industry. Watching your videos restored my faith that good techs/mechs exist, and helps me personally stay honest.

Since you have pups in the shop, be diligent with keeping that antifreeze cleaned up.
62
Everybody loves a good Saab story !!!
62
Be careful Ray, according to YT's new rules a assault hammer's magazine can't contain more than 29 dugaducks!
62
Nice, able to remove the blower fan without 8 hours of labor. Plus another 10 to put it back
62
Silly how you have to make a disclaimer about not prying against the threads while trying to align the "nater" for those few people that have nothing better to do but nitpick about every little thing. Although, "going down" did make me laugh. Love your vids!

Karens like that are worst type customer. I rather lose her Business and tell her you want your car take it elsewhere . In her mind she see jiffy lube signs all over the place.....15 min oil change and thinks that how long it should take. My guess she still making payments on 16 year old benz. smh Good job great content.Hope you are doing better after the rona stint.
61
Don't forget to change the blinker fluid after the muffler valve
61
Customer left excellent feed back for the mechanic " Would advise all my friends to come here , great service"..
61
@CallmeJeffy1 EXACTLY ! Same EVERYWHERE IN THE WESTERN WORLD ! They know how to change sex but not engine oil !
61
I remember when I worked at a AutoZone commercial shop sales I would often help the front counter and I would tell the customer that the codes is a starting point and doesn't mean that that certain sensor is bad and they needed to take the vehicle to a mechanic...I got in trouble for not selling the part... So I had to make a decision... either lie to the customer to make the sale or quit as soon as I found a better job... HONESTY AND KNOWLEDGE is priceless....!!!!!
61
Wow! Thankfully everyone is safe.
61
You are right Ray. Modifications are not everyones interest, but while your video was playing I cooked a nice breakfast, and the wife and I ate it on the patio. You got your views and play time, I got breakfast, and everyone is happy. Thanks for sharing this with those who were interested.
61
Nowadays, it’s a good idea to record as soon as you start the car up so customers can’t say that light wasn’t on when you got my car and it happens more than you think.

I agree that the Pentastar engines are basically breakdowns waiting to happen. I'm amazed that the company that gave us great iron like the 383, the 426 Hemi. the nearly indestructible 318 and slant sixes put out such a piece of crap. Love your channel. Keep up the good work
61
Thanks for your heart felt moment!
60
The principal reason the engines are under preforming is the direct injection technology, the seal of the valves can not overcome the carbon deposits on both valves, many engines that have this are suffering this same fate....higher compressions add to this failed design

Ray, I would just like to comment about your recent discussions of your videos being too long. Please let this be a non issue. Your videos are some of the best on YouTube. If a repair takes 90 minutes so be it, if it's 15 minutes again, it is what it is. Your focus should be on the quality of work, not the duration. I can only speak for myself when it comes to my time, but of you post a long video, I just watch it when I have more time. Keep doing what you and stop listening to people whining about how long they are. Some of us are hear to learn. Length and details provide that learning. Keep up the amazing work and content.

@RainmanRaysRepairs That "shield" is actually a safety catch it's there in case the pulley bearing seperates so that the pulley doesn't fly around the engine bay doing damage to everything it can before it comes to a stop... fugly or not, TRUST ME, DON'T leave it off. I HAVE MADE THAT MISTAKE ONCE. It cost me quite a bit to replace the upper plenum , alternator, and hood of that Police officer's Tahoe.... really, he was more upset about the K9's reaction to its "Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly" ....

A note to Ray. We enjoy watching everything you do. Do not worry if we become bored that is not the reason we watch. You are enjoyable. Just like people watch a construction site. People doing the same thing all day long. People will still watch for many hours. There are even sites that show snow removal in montreal for several hours. Just cause you did it before does not mean it will be less enjoyable to us. Alot of us do jobs that are tech and we find you relaxing as it is so different from our usual day. Keep it up Ray .. We come to watch and we enjoy watching.

Love your videos! It clarifies so much about what happens when my car drives into the repair bay. And why the bill at the end isn’t so baffling as it used to be. Thanks man! And again, I can’t emphasize this too many times. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE is the key to avoiding catastrophic failures. That hurts the vehicle and in turn HURTS YOUR WALLET! Roger in Pierre South Dakota

Looks like the first jump box had a switch on top that was in the off position. Not sure if that had anything to do with it not turning on. Great video!!
60
Maintenance is a lot cheaper than repairs!
60
Great troubleshooting Ray! 😁
60
Maybe it is worth reaching out to Cleetus McFarland? I know he is popular around that area, owning the circle track right there , and he is often at the drag strip too.
60
"Everything is in the way of everything." Truer words have never been spoken.
59
You’re the best never change
59
Everybody gets frustrated troubleshooting at one time or another. I feel your pain brother! By now, I probably would've parked the jeep on the tracks and let Tropicana troubleshoot it! 🤣🤣🤣
59
Ray @6:09 you said "slip that around the backside". You did not follow that with a GIGGITY. You sir now owe all your loyal fans and viewers 1 GIGGITY GIGGITY GOO.
59
Ray, it's good to see you're still a man of the people who can spend time on your back underneath a vehicle like the rest of us. Love your stuff.
59
Would have been a good time to go visit the men's room to take a good long bowel movement!
59
These AFM trucks sure are good job security for us tow truck drivers.
59
Now that's what I call customer service.
59
I came across your channel about a month ago and I have to say I really enjoy listening to you your banter your humor your explanations for what is happening is exceptional I am going through hard times and I am somewhat confined to the My Home and you’ve been a real delight. I want to thank you and keep up the good work it means a lot to people like us who can’t get out.
59
Heaven smiled down on you the day Dave walked into your shop.
59
Him-"Time to take out some manifold bolts." Me- "Time to drill out some manifold bolts."
59
“Force multipliers” isn’t a phrase often heard outside of the military. 👍🏼
59
Press the button Ray is a good mechanic and always does a good job

Ray, I find it refreshing that you respond to commenters when you are told about an issue. I once notified you of a change of availability in a tool you were promoting but was not currently available. I'm not looking for a pen pal, but I did find it refreshing that you changed your list. Great respect from this 69 year old DIY everything mechanic.
59
"Words. WORDS! Things I want to say but cannot!" The most family channel mechanic ever (and we love you for it). Your restraint under pressure is admirable. Don't worry. Us veteran construction workers more than make up for any colorful verbs and adjectives you are forced to repress.
59
I half expect for the Prizm to return in a few days with you accused of damaging the drums, rotors, and lug nuts (on a moldy old vehicle in terrible condition that's left outside and hardly driven) .
59
@RainmanRaysRepairs all good it looks like a software glitch when a transition is supposed to happen and it just didn’t
58
Bloody good job there, mate. You've done yourself proud. Perseverance is definitely the name of the game in these situations. Well done Ray - it's stuff like this that keeps us all coming back for more. No question that there's a whole chunk of the internet cheering and barracking for you and raising a glass to your success. Keep it up Ray, you're a true inspiration.
58
@RainmanRaysRepairs I'm totally clueless when it comes to mechanical engineering, but just curious, could you have slid a hacksaw between the rim and hub and cut through the stud ?
