I am impressed that they contacted you and you get to make your own decision plus they may regain some customers. Thank you for all your content good sir
55
"if it drove in, it can drive out." as we all pause to remember.
55
Those are them new discounted slotted vetted rotors I’ve heard about. 😆

I agree, and I have been in the same spot loading my tools in a truck after parting ways. But after moving on I knew that I was the better man, in that I didn’t compromise my self. I look forward to your new adventures. @RainmanRaysRepairs

Just like most of your loyal long time listeners I don't pay attention to the title of your videos, I click on all of your videos because I enjoy listening to and watching you work while also learning from you. I was able to replace my valve cover caskets thanks to your teachings, you helped save me over $300! You are doing a great job and most certainly I am here for it, so much so that when there isn't a new video to watch I go back and watch older videos just to get my fix for the day. Thank you for all that you do!
55
4 bolt main block, definitely worth saving !
55
Well done Ray. Your boss should be proud of your work ethics. You may have saved him/her if the leak was the missing O-ring.

When you screwed the top cover on there looked to be an unplugged item in the rear of the engine. I assumed you plugged it in. Also I see the Snap on tool truck was there. Spent many a dollar there in the 60's and 70's and still have the tools and toolbox, except for the air tools. I gave all of them over to my nephew when he became a mechanic and I was retired from automotive repair. I became the first certified Master Mechanic at our shop in 1970. If memory serves certifications began in 1968 and I took all the courses and tests except painting by 1970. I imagine there are more tests and categories than in my day. If Memory serves, e had Brakes and suspension, Engine repair and rebuilding; Suspensions; Transmissions and Differentials; Electronics and Tune up; Body and Chassis; and lastly Auto Painting and Finishing.

Well that was grim. I'll miss my daily meditation 🧘🏼♂️ and doo-de-doo-dee. Hope everything works out mate...but it does seem that you have things covered. With your abilities and confidence, there should be no problem. Stay 😎 and good luck old chap (as we used to say in 🇬🇧🏴). Keep cooking dude and see you on your next journey onwards and upwards.
54
Wow. That’s amazing vehicles like this still exist.
54
I knew this is going to happen as soon as I saw you drain the coolant. You crossed the line between "being proactive" and "jumping the gun".
54
You do good work Ray. Not all of us are haters and trolls. I appreciate your videos.
54
Ray, you and Lauren make my day with your vids. Keep them coming.
54
Im not an automotive mechanic, i work in the industry but im no mechanic for then. I am however, in the Canadian Armed Forces as a mechanic and youre videos are not only interesting to watch, but ive learned so much that helps me more with my job than anything else on the internet! Thanks for your informative videos!
54
It’s still under warranty right? Also I’m going to wait
54
Ray, like so many of your loyal viewers I want to “Thank you” for your entertaining videos!
54
I promise that I won't do that again." Ray, you know that means you'll do it again. 😁
54
They'll live. The car will live. Everyone will live. It's fine.
54
Keep up the great work ray if watched you for a long and watched your channel grow congrats on everything man.
54
Actually...they went to the other shop, shop started on passenger side and couldn't get that lug nut off. That shop watches your videos, saw you removing damaged nuts, referred the customer to your shop. 😉😆
54
Getting ever closer to the 500k subs, keep it up Ray. I still don't know how you keep up with where all the fasteners go when you have a job this big. No matter how organized you may be, it seems like a multiple day job encourages forgetfulness lol.
53
Glad you're ok and no crashes despite all the opportunities for a slip up in this short video 🙄 It will take one wreck for him to figure out just how soft the human body is and he won't pull that 💩 again. Sorry, but some have to learn the hard way.
53
That toyota is a biological hazard..how can anyone drive a car that nasty....I'd love to see their home..
53
2:42 You started at the wrong end Ray. This side the receptacle is spring loaded, so you insert the lamp, push it in (click) then locate the other end and release. You can do this in the middle so you have equal control of both ends of the lamp. If you use your single point light source instead of the 8 foot lamps you'll have nasty shadows - think sunny day vs overcast day. By the way you're burning the filament with only one end plugged in (did you see the slight orange glow when first plugged in?) - the fixture should be off when re-lamping.
53
Love how you didn't chastise the apprentice when he dropped the ball (figuratively). AND you let him continue the mission. Hats off to your mentorship sir 🙏
53
Just because your truck got roasted on the Internet no need to be mean 😂

The front engine mount is a hydraulic frequency dampener that is vacuum operated. It adjusts as needed to facilitate smoother feeling engine performance. It is an on or off VSV valve that activates it. If you want to know more about this engine in particular. The Car Care Nut has a lot of info on these, especially with the revisions and the updates these have. This one should have the updated all metal oil lines for the VVT and the oil pump on the front of the engine.
53
It may be running smoother because the proper oil level allows cam phasers and sensors to move and operate correctly. I’m not a mechanic, just an avid DIYer. Love your vids! God bless you and yours.
53
Long time subscriber here. Just wanted to say I hope your health is on the mend. People need their vehicles fixed, and without you there's one less honest mechanic.
53
Can you let us know how much $$$ we raised for your friend…
53
Gotta love cordless ratchets, changed the game as far as ease and speed goes
53
@bunnygirls556 Go take a flying leap. Take the spam somewhere else.🙄
53
Let me just tell you how nice it is to watch your videos, your English is so clear and understandable for native Finnish speaking dude.
53
I get the ominous feeling that the "click" joke is in response to a bunch of arm chair mechanics flipping about torque specs. If you look real close, most (if not all that I've seen) have a crush washer like a spark plug. Approximately a 1/4 turn after contact is all it takes. It is also important to note that a good tech develops a feel for tightening torque over time. Clearly, not accurate enough to torque a cylinder head but more than enough to know when "tight" is too much or too little. Some techs get it, and some don't. The truly unfortunate part is the ones that don't usually think they do.

I found this channel about a week ago. I really no longer have an interest in repairing my own (or any) vehicles, but I keep watching just waiting for the shop phone (and your reaction) to ring.
52
Good to see the whole family getting involved in your enterprise! Prosper ON!
52
To paraphrase AvE quoting an old timer who said it best: "Quality tools aren't expensive, they're priceless". I'm a master carpenter with almost 40 years under my belt and was taught from my first day as an apprentice "Always buy the absolute best tool you can afford". I've lived by that ever since and it's never let me down.
52
My favorite part is the 5 gallons of gas you poured out of a diesel can. Love it
52
And that is why you film things, “ex” customers are quickly put in their place.
52
I'm from north of Detroit. I would normally not of tried to take out those bolts from a car up here without heating the nuts up. Let me say I probably would have used a spacer too. But would the correct way would be to replace the bolts and springs? After years of heat cycling the springs can weaken.
52
I watch Ray's videos. I'm a 70 yo woman who can barely get around anymore and will never do any car repairs herself. However, I know where to look and what to look for, thanks to Ray. And I feel a little more confident that mechanics will not be able to take advantage of me with their fast talking. I did do a tune up all by myself on an 70s car and it started and ran well.
52
Ray, you're doing awesome, I'm glad things are going good for you!
52
You had me dying when you said "Nissan, the Chrysler of Japan". 😂 Truer words have never been spoken!
52
Never has 2 inches been more important to a man😂😂
52
Wire wheel on a drill, MUCH safer than a shielded wire wheel. Has OSHA met a mechanic? We find new and amazing ways to hurt ourselves everyday
52
I should note: Another good reason to buy off the truck is you're keeping your local money in your community. The Snap-On/Matco/Mac guy isn't hired by them 3. He licenses their name/buys their tools to sell to you. He/she is a business owner that's keeping your money in your city (mostly).
52
Toyota and Lotus teamed up for the Celica Supra back in the 80s and I think they've been doing this ever since. Lotus did the Celica Supra suspension and brakes and stuff and Lotus then borrowed gearboxes and other reliable parts from Toyota to make their cars better. Nice little collaboration and very unusual bedfellows but good stuff coming from odd beginnings.
52
Ray: "Look at all that rust on that unit". Me: * Cries in michigan *
