  1. The thing hanging from the tree is a lure for bobcat. There is probably a foot hold trap buried underneath, and a stake nearby that it is wired to. This is the time of year when bobcat's have good coats. Usually a good place to take a pee to deter the bobcats from their demise.

  5. I ran into you 2 at the casino shortly after this first aired. Lost my ass at the machines but left feeling like I'd hit the jackpot. You and Lila are such a welcoming couple to fans Jeff , even tho we were complete strangers. You came over and chatted with me and my family , it felt like running into a friend u hadn't seen in years. When I spotted you & pointed you out to a companion he said "Jeff" ? You turned around ..I thru my arms up in the air to give you a yahoo. . . And without missing a beat you said" So come on let's go !!! and we yelled it like a chorus with you right there in the casino ! It's was amazing. After a good 5-minute chat you were on your way out the door, in about 10 minutes later you came back looking for us and gave us bracelets as gifts and I still have mine, and not only that one you left a little while later the beautiful nurse Lila was on your arm smiling at us aswell. It wasn't the first time I'd seen you guys down there, but I was too shy to bother you but that time I couldn't resist and you guys made my day you're such a beautiful nice couple you really are out in public with strangers as friendly and joyful as you are on here.. if there's ever a next time... I will sit at the bar and order us all drink.. and say hi to my friends. thanks for a wonderful memory. Xo . Ps. Lila you deserve that nugget !

  16. I am 60 and just found you. I'm totally addicted. my grandmother bought some land in Oregon in the 50s and passed it on to my mom and dad who in turn passed it on to me and my siblings. I went down with my two brothers to look at it and found that it looked like a 1/2 acre of worthless wooded valley. However, as we were exploring we found a rocky stream, and what did I see but pure black sand. I think I know now why my grand mother bought this land. I can't wait to explore. It's a 6hr drive but I don't care. Thanks for being so fun to watch, and being a teacher of geology. If you have any advice for me, I promise to be a good listener. Except for the location LOL!! If we discover something good I'll let you know. Oh! and thanks a lot for giving me the fever! LOL! I love this channel. You make this fun., you're the greatest!!

  43. The problem in this case is that when people cache things they bury it feet down, around 2 to 3 feet. Thus only certain detectors can reach these depths. Show up with a basic model that has a depth of inches, and get no sound at all.

  50. Macdonald in his book spoke of the waterfall. The indians didnt bother them but told them stay on the canyon floor. Do not climb up the water fall. One of them did. And the gold on top filled up dutch ovens. They loaded up the wagon and headed out. And the host indians met them. The only way to see the right canyon is the iron wagon wheel rings. Only one cowboy escaped but he was wounded. I wont say where it was. But the territory would become the state of nevada. ❤❤❤❤. Gosh i hope you find it jeff.
