you REALLY helped me get off my ass and get back to studying japanese, thanks Cole

Your content is really refreshing. No edits, no cuts, no dopamine maximizing; just pure, unfiltered, thoughtful authenticity. I try to make it a practice to sit through the whole video without jumping, and to really take in the message. (Note: not a reflection of the quality of the content, more of a reflection of the way my brain has been rewired to enjoy short-form, meaningless, intense content).
1
great video man i appreciate it, do you have any advice for getting started on youtube? like not necessarily how to get subs etc. but just kinda how to feel like you’re qualified enough to make a video on something?
1
Loved the channel, thankful ❤
1
Really enjoying these videos, Coal. Great to have on in the back.

This is some real shit, Cole! I appreciate the candidness in this video bro - it's really rare to see that from large content creators nowadays. 9:00 is so real. I keep looking at my subscriber count realizing it's not where I want to be and then have to force myself to realize that, when I wrote my goals this year, the FIRST was post once a week. Not reach a subscriber count. Thanks for sharing your perspective brother!

I would love to read your book. cant wait

Good to see you shooting (or speaking) from the hip with this channel man! Scripted videos don't tend to keep my boat afloat personally... I feel like the self improvement channels that you're referring to are using self improvement as the only inspiration for their videos rather than just living life and telling stories based on grounded experience. You can't self improve without living. I would say a lot of people need to just take action and live their lives - and naturally, they will evolve and "improve"... and then MAYBE making a "self improvement" Youtube channel could be a nice offshoot from all of this. Big hug - did you run your marathon yet?

hi
1
COLE, THANK YOU BROTHER 😭. I desperately needed this video.
1
Very interesting video. I am fairly certain that my purpose is computer science, but I no longer care to associate my entire life with it. I will do what is necessary to get good grades and reach the level of education I desire, but I will no longer be critical of how I spend my remaining time
1
I prefer personal development or just, “working on my habits”. Being “on self improvement” kinda makes it just sound like a trend or, like cope for not accepting yourself as a person, just my take before watching the video
1
I've noticed that exact same trend of "people are more interested in the more gentle side of things" in my own videos
1
I'm so grateful this showed up in my algorithm feed! I didn't know you even had a second channel, to be honest. This has been perhaps my most worrisome period (at least in the short term) since the last election year I won't speak of. I'm so grateful to know (and see) that you are at peace brother. I love you and your insightful content tremendously
1
Ive been seeing someone whos been labouring this point, but your explanation makes a lot of sense as to why its important. Thankyou!
1
Thank you for the subtitles, the youtube autogenerated ones aren’t always accurate
1
I've just finished reading "Attached" and then this video pops up. Cole, are you stalking me?😵 All jokes aside, I did all the quizzes that were there and I got me having a secure attachment style in general, but kind of a mix between anxious and secure when it comes to romantic relationships. I'm so relieved and grateful you made this video so I can have more tools to understand/heal my attachment style. Love you brother.

Lucky I’m not insecure but I’m glad to hear your story Cole besides your different and better than these fitness influencers
1
Haha i was the 1k sub

This reminds me of FTP’s song called ‘Waste’. Such a good existential / hopeful song. These topics are better than the others you’ve talked on your other channel. This channel is going good / strong. EDIT: 7:16 I wanted to know, are you still a vegan or not? If you don’t mind me asking, ofc. Next topic 🤞🤞🤞: How to (allow yourself to) live (enjoy) life.
1
This was great, Cole! I’ve been struggling lately after getting sick twice in a row and losing momentum and focus. Needed do hear this.
1
This was really sth I had to hear. Thank you

to growth!

Everyone is always being influenced by everything around them. You can easily imagine two separate people are subscribed to you and also another channel. On the other channel they watch a video and see a positive comment that has a lot of likes so they also like it and then decide to use that comment on the next video they watch to spread positivity but also because they have Seen evidence that It generates engagement. They happen to go to different videos of yours next and then they both comment at the same thing at the same time.
1
Yes sir! Personal time with cole. I would love just a vlog of what you do daily no crazy editing or anythinf
1
Love honest YouTubers
1
You always know what i need lol. Loving the videos man.
1
Dont know if its my "meaning" but the way i cope or make decisions is to experience beauty. Be it music, a walk in a park, or roman statues. Religion failed me when i was mid/early teens.
1
Ooo cool a second channel:) subbed
1
Viktor Frankl would approve of this video
1
I guess that’s why I started learning Japanese. I know it won’t bring anything much of value to my career but I just enjoy this language so much!
1
Interesting concept - I look forward to seeing what comes of your new direction. As someone who has been working on herself and self-improvement, I’ve become incredibly disillusioned with the self-help approach that most have now. It does come off as fake, or to make money on suffering. It’s very unsustainable for the majority of humans as it takes out a lot of the humanity in how we live. Anyways, I’m here to see what you have to say. Good luck !
1
Thanks, I will now leave this video on loop for the rest of the day for the algorithm
1
I like the style of this channel, I also followed you here :D

This is the ultimate question, isn't it? we all know that there's something greater than ourselves. It's not science vs God, both are true, but one can only explain the material through the rationale of the human mind. I will say this to you brothers, don't stop searching for truth until you find it. My path led me to Christ (as completion of truth itself). I know it's a little polarizing, but do not be afraid of asking the hard questions, all great minds have done this.

Haven’t watched your content in a while, got recommended this video. I was like “Wow Cole has really changed up his style of making videos, interesting!”. Then in the end when you hinted that this is a different channel I realized 😂🤦🏽
1
@CoalHastings hey bro, I love your content. You’re very well spoken, insightful, and you have a good head of your shoulders. Keep making that content!
1
@CoalHastings did not know you until this video and this one comment just shows that you care about your content ❤️
1
Been waiting for another video, you did it again! Thank you, Cole!
1
People are starting to seek deeper content for growth. I found that videos have become more popular, which emphasizes the other half of self-improvement: acceptance, letting go, shadow work, and finding deeper meaning. Additionally, I feel that people like Dan Koe, who promote self-experimentation and developing a unique journey and system for one's vision, are starting to rise.
1
@ColeHastings HOLY , I ACTUALLY GOT A RELY , LES GOO , THANKS
1
This is so bold of you, congratulations 🎉
1
This is the exact info I need when it comes to tests and other things similar, academically, and work-wise!
1
I 100% agree with this. Good video Cole.
1
Thank you for the advice Cole. I'm trying to break into the self-improvement space. Slightly more on the spiritual side, though I try not to be too woo-woo about it. I just want to help people by sharing the mindsets that have helped me. Your short film is what inspired me to start writing the blog I've been too scared to start for a long time and start posting on this channel.
1
Great Man (Just Be true to your self)❤
1
Finding this right now was insane you have no idea.
1
@CoalHastings sounds like you have a good enough mindset! I hope you enjoy the process, and I'll be the first to read it when it comes out
1
