  2. I feel this on a personal level. I've used my introversion as an excuse to isolate myself and it was probably the one of the most damaging things I did to my mental health. Thankfully I learned a lesson, that human connection is not only important but also essential for our well-being. I'm trying to turn this whole thing around and reinvent myself by taking small steps and forming good habits. Thank you for spreading the message, Cole.

  3. This is a sort of thing I was thinking about this morning. I went to the gym last night and there was a girl who looked at me a few times and we made eye contact a few times and I didn’t smile or acknowledge her existence. So I thought I need to more often in situations just simply smile or say hey. It’s more natural and easier for me to see someone but keep my head down and not smile. I feel like if I just simply smile even if it’s a soft smile and say hey it would open up doors for me thinking that even just a soft smile or hey could open doors for conversations and such.

  4. I see "on self-improvement" akin to being marketable , entering into the "self-improvement market". Either being on the supply side by producing content, merch, motivation, validation, etc.; Or the consumer side which has its large demand (especially in young men) in today's society. Because of this, being "on"/"off" is like being in/out of this "market", but the thing is self-improvement is an ongoing thing in each of our personal lifestyle. The demand for self-improvement is always here ever since within each of us, it's just falling victim to capitalism and became marketable nowadays imho.

I haven’t been active as I’m trying to take the silent action, minus me telling you this now…and hope to report when something has happened and not within the “I’m going to do this” You’re correct, you’re different, and super authentic. I don’t enjoy the Hamza hate he’s received. The only problem he had is that he was so certain and then changed his mind on a lot of things. I think I’ve seen the same young YouTubers you have that tell you to meditate 😂. I appreciate you also mentioning in this video that the new ones to succeed are likely the ones that do change it up and offer something else that’s different than the norm. That gives me comfort in the journey I’m constantly battling within on whether to be super unique or bland and safe. Thank you

  15. I will definitely be eagerly awaiting your book :) I've had some wild instances of synchronicity/manifestation that made me believe in SOMETHING, just not the big man in the sky. Here's an example. When I was homeless, living in San Fransisco, all of my stuff was stolen, besides what I had on my person. Fortunately my wallet was with me. I lost a bunch of stuff that was important to me, like my GBA SP from childhood and Pokemon Games from Silver up to Moon. A stuffed animal I'd had since I was 5. My 2 and a half octave Casio keyboard. I was so angry and went around searching for crackheads to interrogate, but it didn't matter. My stuff was gone. Most of all, I was missing my keyboard. I'm a musician, and having an instrument is more valuable to me than anything. Playing music is what I'm made for. So I said to the ether, "None of that stuff matters to me. I'll give it all up. I just want my piano." And I let it be, moving on and collecting the necessities again like clothing, a backpack, sleeping bag, etc. Well, a few days later, someone messaged me on Facebook. They had found my little Casio keyboard in an office parking lot on the other side of town along with an old ID I had kept for no reason really. They wanted to get it back to me. So, I had my keyboard back, just like I asked. And from then on, I realized that none of this stuff matters. It's all temporary. It solidified my identity as a musician. The idea that music is what I'm supposed to do. I also realized that there was something greater than just myself. The universe, The Is, that I am part of. Not separate from. Also, regarding psychedelics, I could probably write a book about how much they have helped me pinpoint the root of my issues. They aren't a cure, they are a diagnostic tool. We still have to do the legwork.

  34. Great video! Looking forward to that novel! I started to get back into reading books last summer when i moved to a new city and checked out the library. Since i am a curious individual and interested in a lot of topics, going to the library meant choosing a new little topic each week, so i read books about the alps, our skin and society. Only this November though did i learn the importance of fictional books. I am doing my bachelor's thesis right now and that caused me a lot of insomnia and anxiety so i wanted to read novels i could just enjoy without thinking about it too much. Recently i finished "the book thief" by zusak and i loved it. I also started to use a booktracker "Reado". Whenever i have the time, i also started to actively write essays or just thoughts and reviews to different thoughts expressed in non-fictional books. Reflecting the authors thoughts and doing some thinking on my own beyond has given me a lot of satisfaction as well. Anyways, have a great day, thank you for sharing your experience!

  38. This is very true ! Nowadays people carry self improvement like a jewel on their head. If you are into self improvement its better for you not for others so usually there is no point in telling it to others.

  39. In my perception, the label of being “on self improvement” feels ideologically encompassing for just becoming a better person, feeling like a pseudo religion of a sort. It gives direction and a higher power to exist for, being the greater future self, to which you can only know exists with faith. The different practices like meditation and cold showers as different forms of prayer, things like junk food and video games being sin/haram, nonfiction books being a library of different biblical texts, places like gyms as shrines and YouTube channels as churches with the creators themselves as the priests. Getting baptised will cost you the price of a video call with X YouTuber though… Take a look at Hamza with his cult. Jeffery vs Adonis as Devil vs God and the buzz cut being a circumcision... Also I think saying you’re “on self improvement” kind of implies in a way that you feel you need to improve and therefore you feel you aren’t good enough of a person, all perceived and judged in a split second from hearing it in a phrase and label. I think that’s why there’s distain for it.

  40. Thank you for this video :) Just like the market. The stock has to go up and down. There are only opportunities in every downfall or rise. Im a 16 year old small creator and most of my YouTube journey I've been shitting bad videos, just recently started to do a lil better (I still shit bad vids but I have some in the safe lol). I think its not something new that is happening just the normal cycle of life, Hamza became the masculine SI creator everyone needed but now he used up this and now people need something else. I've been feeling like my content is not what I want to make tbh and I know I have so much more potential but Iv've just decided to "just copy Hamza" as literally everyone is doing now lol. The season of my life is learning, not "self-improvement". It became a cult and is just doing everyone a disservice. No matter if youre a creator or a viewer we need to educate ourselves on how the world operates from the first principles because if we dont there are always people who will know those and those can manipulate the shit out of you.
