Can you do a series on the assyrians the first massive empire they made the Merovingians look like the teletubbies
8
I think this is the first channel I’ve seen where every video made is just a banger
8
Great video man, deffo a sub from me! Learning the history of the current Danish royal family, that starts around 900, we are taught that the only dynasty that rivalled them in bloody machinations were the Merovingians. Truely a game of cards, chance and scheming womenfolk!
8
"A Diamond in the rough" is how I've described your content to many of my friends. Keep up the phenomenal work ❤
8
The quality of content this channel puts out is unreal. My knowledge of the Carolingian Empire has at least quintupled since I started watching these videos.
8
Caesar is closer to us in time than to the building of the Great Pyramid. Yet, when it was built, Uruk was some 1500 years old. Mesopotamia tests the limit of our comprehension.
7
@DragonsAndDragons777 yeah nah it takes some sack to forgive people especially if they tried to kill you/take everything from you

Alright, after watching the video, I must concur with the past Pleksilasi as in no, we will not learn. America hasn't had a learned man in charge since Kennedy and will never again have. Every dude since him was some kind of rich guy serving their own self interests and those of Israel. Since America was built in the image of Rome and now is so fixed on dealing with Israel, every american should read about how the Romans dealt with Israel/palestine. Maybe read about Emperor Hadrian. Good video tho. well done.
7
@Empire-Builders Very true. But I still think there's something else.
7
This is awesome thanks.
7
This is great! Always wanted to know more about the Carolingians
7
WOW! I'M FIRST!
7
Because Louis never had the makings of a varsity athlete 😂😂
7
I'm really drunk at the moment and I just did some journaling about Israel and Palestine. I am now at the beginning of a YouTube video that is blowing my mind. I love History and I love Earth. 😤🥺😠🧐😠😤😋😠🙁🫥😠🧐😡💙🖤🖤💚🖤💛😿😿💨🙊👏👏👏🦾✋🫶

I just found your channel through your recent video on the Holy Roman Empire. I was just thinking I needed a whole new historical obsession and I think I’ve found it, or rather you’ve sold me on it. I’m glad to see you’ve had some success for your work and I hope that you continue to produce this engaging and informative content. I have subscribed and will be watching all your future videos. Good luck, I’m sure you will have great success!

It's always a great day when you post! Great work! The three Carolingians that followed King Rudolph actually have a pretty interesting story: - Louis D'Outremer is called back to rule the country from his exile in England after his father Charles the Simple died in a cell after the nobles revolted. He was the grandchild of Edward the Elder of England and a contemporary and rival of Otto the Great, even getting Lotharingia back for a bit. - His son Lothaire III gets under the influence of Otto the Great and is even raised by his brother Bruno, the Archbishop of Cologne, but later in life tries and succeeds in breaking free and imposing some authority only to die early. - Louis V really is an ironic character - the last king of the Carolingians also gets called the Fainéant. (P.S. - Hugh the Great only gets elected king bc Charles of Lower Lorraine, the brother of Lothaire and who would follow Louis V, is so hated that the Archbishop all but carries Hugh to throne)

I require an inmediate second part

Thanks for this video. Currently doing some papers on Russia so looking at Russian history is going to be useful for me.

I was just thinking about the Akkadian Empire. More specifically, I was reading the book Ancient Warfare by Carman and Harding and noticed there's not much they said about Akkad.
7
Great vid as always bro
7
Glad I found your channel. Can’t wait for more videos on past empires. Honestly I used to think the HRE as a useless and empire to gloss over. And yes that Voltaire’s quote is overrated and overused. But my view on the HRE has somewhat been revived. I think it’s gets a bad reputation because people think about that Voltaire quote and well after the HRE dissolution, the German Empire was born 65 years later. With most people believing the German Empire being a better version of it.

First video I've seen from you. Absolutely incredible. Great work. I can't wait to listen and watch more of your work! You definitely got a sub from me bro.
7
Dude this is QUALITY production. You should be proud. Liked and Subbed.

Adelaide of Italy's story is just so insane it literally deserves its own video.
7

One point of contention: being otherwise hairy does NOT preclude baldness; rather the reverse. Show me a bald guy and I'll show you the same guy with a hairy back. God has a sense of humor. The chroniclers of this period also have a sense of humor. Now Gibbon may be underrating the last of the Carolingian kings, but the nicknames ARE suggestive, as you indicate. Suggestive of a certain lack of respect, regardless of the merits of the rulers. Charles the FAT. Timothy the Toothless. Jaques Itch. Maxim the Minecrafter. Anyway, educational as always. Using "No Country" as prologue and epilogue was a boss move, as well.

@Empire-Builders I‘m already listening to the History of Byzantium Podcast, so In my opinion the Continuation of the HRE would be great. I Hope I find the time to View You’re Video about the Akkadians, I have to many history Channels in my Subscription List lol
6
Face reveal fellas were going hard today. Extremely excited for this one, the Hussites are sick.
6
Awesome video!
6
I discovered your channel not long ago and i'm loving it!! I love your videos
6
Dude, amazing Video! Your writing is great and the editing is a nice visual aid and your choice for music works well. I'd suggest adding sources to the images. It is always a great narrative to say that Kings back then were dumb to divide their Kingdom between their heirs, but those historical characters were more likely interested in each of their children being as wealthy as possible, than any more or less prestigious but less material title
6
Awesome
