I've been investing for roughly the same amount of time as you, and although i'm really glad i started when i did, why did i not just get my ass in gear in 2008!. All my investments are currently accumulation, but i plan to move over to income funds when i will looking to semi retire at 50-55.

Hello! Love the vids! I’m confused, at the beginning, all those “bonds”. I can’t get my head around what a bond is. Why would I invest in a vanguard bond, when I can do an index fund etf vanguard like sp500? Thanks ☺️

@MitchShoesmith yes that’s amazing, thanks so much!

Good work Mitch, keep it going. Keep adding to your portfolio ad re-investing your dividends via Drip. It’s amazing how it will grow over the years . Been at it 13 years myself and am now in the £1000 pm passive income club. I will be sharing my journey on my YouTube channel soon. Just set you a Instagram message too. Wasn’t sure how else to contact you directly 👍🏼 Regards Adam

Congrats Mitch, don’t forget to add annual gas boiler services and smoke detectors etc! These are your legal responsibility now. Did you mention buildings insurance also ? Also expect more £ for maintenance. Well done though. I have a few now after many years of being put off by watching “bad tenants” TV programs 😂

It's a relax moment in the big scheme Mitch my most USA concentrated ETF has 6% in Nvidea so worst case if it halves that's 3% off the Value if a few tech companies dive then then the hit might be 10-15% so big deal we still own the asset it's cashing out that crystallises the loss if I was clever I would buy in the Dips but I don't think I am hopefully down the road I will need to draw money when the value is OK.

Thank you. Very much appreciated. Keep up the great work 👍

With HL, if you pay into funds and not etfs (Lifestrategy or Global All Cap for example) you dont pay any dealing fees
1
@MitchShoesmith it's a shame there isn't more competition in the Lifetime ISA market. Would happily not be with HL if Vanguard offered one

I'm getting around £3000 per year dividends, and my bias is opposite, 95% US companies ^_^

Great video again Mitch, got into investing during covid and have watched hundreds of different youtube channels on investing but yours is one of a handful I have stuck with since then. Keep it going it really does help people.
1
I have to admit that Mitch's video on investing was one of the first I've watched and I have come a long way since.
1
Great video, as always Mitch! My big question is what you start doing at that 30-40k mark. I've been working up to this and I'd love to invest in a BtL in the coming years but I'm lost as to how I level up from the 40k mark. Any form of BtL near me is 250k plus 😂
1
Yea, get your strategy! It’ll hit your profit when you do switch. But at least you’ll start reducing the capital debt and hopefully the interest rates may have fallen
1
Did you get engaged recently? Congrats! Very sage advice here
