  17. As an HR professional, I got into this field to help people. I genuinely believe that HR can be the voice of the employee as well as the company. I make a point to make sure things are fair, ethical, moral etc. for both. That means holding management accountable and employees accountable. My employees know they can come to me, that my door is open and my office is safe. I don't do targets, I've actually called out managers for placing targets on people. I know there are a lot of bad people in my field and that many HR professionals have been part of the bad in an employee's life, hence I entered the field to make some form of a difference. Have I had some really hard conversations with employees, denied claims, and been a part of terminations? Yes. Have I also helped people overcome circumstances, trained them on life skills, etc. and held owners accountable for big problems? Also, yes. I must be one of the weird ones who would be willing to leave an organization for unethical behavior they refuse to change. I would never allow my personal ethics to be compromised to protect an organization. There's really not enough money in the world for that. Do I have all the power, can I make every change, fire the C suit and rebuild the whole org? No. Can I try my hardest to make sure everything is ethical and fair? Yeah! Overall, I would agree with some of the points and I know these come from cases of people who have caused the nasty taste in someone's mouth. I'd also like to see a revamping of HR in the future where more HR professionals are taken seriously by leaders (we're not seen as important in most industries) and we have more power to help both sides.
