An Interesting topic. A good video.

Great narration and images! And a fun/interesting topic, I find the most fascinating parts of history are the everyday details.

We western warriors went without wasteful washing whenever worldly Wendish wives were wearing wavy wardrobes with wistful waistlines while working with witless waterbearers. - because of climate change. 💦 🌞

I don’t know but I’ve heard the J.R.R. Tolkien also hated modern weaponries. It maybe the common tendency of British Intellectuals. It’s so ironical that because their British Empire became the world conquer through butchering people through the cutting edge industrial equipments of those days like Enfield rifled muskets, steam screw warships or quick firing howitzers…

Wends were Slavic and it's difficult to say where they originally came from, probably Belarus and Ukraine and prior to that perhaps somewhere further west until they got pushed back by the Celts and later the Germans. Prussians were Baltic tribes. Vandals Germanic tribes half of whom escaped the Huns into North Africa, and the other half locked themselves up in fortified towns of which there was a limited number, and once the Huns left and Slavs came, they intermarried with the latter.

A great video. many illustrations I've not seen before. My one gripe is that 'elk' in English is "elk" , not"moose" - that's American!

Why does this have such little views…

Thank you for yet another wonderful historical documentary! The earlier history of the Baltic and nearby eastern Europe is a really interesting topic!

Mmmh, still craving for those pieces of amber though. These days you'll cross the sea with an iron boat and pay with plastic money, but it's basically the same.

And as a finnish person, the club part was interesting. And actually I haven't heard of the nuijasota -clubs as distinctive weapons. Our common history with Sweden is shamefully too much neglected in our school history lessons and as I have later delved into that history, I feel almost cheated by this fact. Many centuries of cultural darkness that needn't be.

Þat mælti mín móðir, at mér skyldi kaupa fley ok fagrar árar, fara á brott með víkingum, standa upp í stafni, stýra dýrum knerri, halda svá til hafnar hǫggva mann ok annan. Sorry😅 but your last video was so informative and wel made, I can't help myself. Even if there are smal faults only the creator would see, That's one thing music theachers say, almost nobody see the faults you see yourself
