  39. Hi I thought about going into assisted-living. I had a stroke back in 2021 and still feel like I haven’t recovered from it. I’m only 56 and have my stroke at 53. When I was in the hospital recovering from my stroke I hated it. It seems what I went through in the hospital. It’s much like you describe your nursing home to be. I lost my dignity, there’s nothing like wearing a diaper when you’re only 56 or at the time I guess I was 53 and meals were almost brought to me. I didn’t have a choice. I was on a low sodium, a.k.a. no taste meal plan. I was always woken up early in the morning so they could do blood work. My medication was brought to me and a tiny plastic container and the nurses always watch me. Take it to make sure I was taking them all. This was during Covid times so I wouldn’t be able to leave the room. Plus because I had a stroke, I couldn’t go to the washroom independently, a nurse owes had to be there to make sure it didn’t fall. I think maybe you should’ve gone to a seniors home instead of a nursing home. Here in Canada anyway a senior living home is meant for people that want some independence, but you can also have someone come in and clean your house or I mean your apartment or you can have meals delivered or cook your own food and there’s activities that you can do, you can go on shopping chips or even to casino or maybe even concerts or shows and then you don’t have to worry about the driving because they will drive you. Thank you for this video.
