One thing I also wanted to add which you had touched upon in the video is (although I’m sure you already know this): Not everyone can be successful in entrepreneurship, there’s a big risk in the amount of time and money you invest in to an idea - what If the problem you are trying to solve, that you think is big, isn’t a big enough problem for people to buy into/see - so you end up investing/sacrificing much more money and time than you see in financial reward. It may also even take you a while for you to see any profitable returns. Organisations also value solutions to problems. You can be compensated generously for offering solutions to organisations. Although the potential of this compensation may not be as high as the rewards in entrepreneurship, there is a higher level of security in the reward in terms of consistency and time - you are paid much quicker. This doesn’t mean to avoid entrepreneurship. The rewards from entrepreneurship can be much more fruitful and sweeter in the sense that it is some thing you have been able to see grow and you are more in control of your work. It all comes downs to a persons characteristics and whether they are willing to take the risks of sacrificing money and time, in the hopes that it will be successful. What remains though is finding solutions to problems is key.

Over the last decade I've bought so many sales books on what's the best close, how to close people, get more sales, etc. In the end these were are all just gimmicks to hype people up/guilt them into buying, the thing these gurus never talk about is how months down the line your customers start cancelling and falling off cause they realize they never really wanted it to begin with. I was always felt like maybe I was missing something/didnt know the right close (and that's how they upsell you with more books), but eventually I realized the secret was there was no secret. It all just came down to personal experience that was accumulated over the years, how fast it took me to learn from it, and ultimately standing behind something that solved a real problem and people actually wanted.

  20. This video was really helpful for me I just left sixth form and I had this on going battle in my mind of what I wanted to do next. Like you I’ve always wanted to be an actress but I also have a love for animals. I didn’t apply to uni in the end and decided to go on a gap year which I’m planning now. I started posting on my channel and I’m hoping to pursue YouTube. Your channel has grown so quickly! Well done it’s amazing to see xxx

  27. The self help industry is so god damn close to the fitness industry. There are only so many ways you can work out but the videos and books keep churning out with 'new' exercises and supplements to consume. And all of it sold by people who have ostensibly perfect bodies (and lives if you consider instagram or 'insert whatever social media platform').

I’ve become interested in this topic after a close friend of mine recommended reading Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich’ (1937) which many people credit as the birth of the financial self-help publishing industry. I’m still in the middle of reading it, but I’m struck by the religious rhetoric and very odd references to mysticism (reaching out with your subconscious mind to the ether to create changes in physical reality).  People like Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Norman Vincent Peale, prosperity gospel preachers, books like The Secret, The Celestine Prophecy, The Power of Positive Thinking, they build upon movements like New Thought, the Law of Attraction, New Age spirituality. There is an almost cult-like mentality that forms around this industry. It’s very bizarre and disconcerting. And that style of thinking propagates itself through more mainstream industries like the diet industry, online education, MLMs. And people continue to fall for this stuff. Thank you for bringing attention to this subject in this video. If you’ve helped someone avoid personal financial ruin or destroying a valuable relationship, it’s all worth it.

I love it, march 23, 2020 my whole portfolio was down 70% I didnt sell even one of my stocks I made some rearrangements, now I am only down 30% mostly of my stocks pays me dividends, I am holding I'm not afraid because i also believe on what you said market always bounce back. As populations growing consumers is growing. So for young people like us it's our opportunity dont panic dont hold your emotion and stick to your plan... thanks for this video. Great !
