This is one of the best history channels ever!!! I didn't even know I needed a documentary on the history of Halloween, but you sure delivered! I look forward to your future documentaries.
60
Very interesting documentary! I commend your unbiased views on a religious holiday. Doesnt matter who you are, what you believe in, I myself am agnostic but I always look forward to this time of year. Have a good whatever you choose to celebrate everyone, and remember to be kind.
60
Would you consider doing a video detailing first hand accounts of the personality/looks of famous historical leaders/figures?
60
Edward of Woodstock, only if he lived in 1969.

The first 15 years of my life I thought my name was Dammit! 🤨

Woah thanks, dude! I am currently learning the history of South America for a project, this will bring up my points quite a bit! Also while I'm at it, Great content my guy! you're like the way clearer Tierzoo, He's fun and informative but you're even more information I'd say. Can't wait for the 500.000 mark!

For a while I was looking for history of food videos on YouTube but never could find them until I found your channel a few months ago. These series of food history videos are exactly what I've been searching for and I hope to see more of them!
58
Easily the best history youtuber on the platform, your videos are brilliant! Keep up the good work!
58
This was an excellent video, with such detailed explanations. I cannot imagine the effort that must have put in making this video. Thanks a lot for this! Eagerly waiting for the second part...
58
Your talk at the end really summarises why I like your coverage of cryprids/aliens/paranormal, you strike a great balance of explaining peoples accounts and evidence for and against it while also not being insulting to the parties involved. So many channels that do tend to do this content lean heavily on one side or the other and more often than not it leads them to overlook things because they either want to dismiss everything or believe everything. I look forward to seeing more of this series as well as your regular history videos, they're great watches.
58
Thank you for this video. It's the only unbiased, honest doc I have seen on this subject. Really appreciate being able to get the history without a political agenda
58
Thank you, Mom and I were baking pies and I asked what was the difference between Yams and Sweet Potatoes? She said she did not know but that we were making sweet potato pie.
58
Hi I am from Spain, some time ago I asked in a comment if you could do a video about the history of Spain, and even thought I know you haven’t done it for that for some reason I feel heard. BTW I love to see it it’s incredible really cool Thank you a lot

1:05 Just For Knowing This watermelon also grows in arid regions of Iran, it is called wolf cucumber in here, it is very bitter, but it is boiled with water and given to people with diabetes and is healthy for sugar blood (Sorry for my bad grammar)

Gotta say, I appreciate how many history youtubers lately are debunking the popular misconception that Christian holidays are secretly pagan holidays with a very thin Christian veneer. Too often such statements are taken at face value, even though most traditions associated with these holidays arose from Christian and Secular practices, and comparatively few traditions actually have a pre-Christian origin. I mean, Victorian England is probably responsible for the bulk of our modern Christmas tradtions.
56
This must have taken ages to research and write! Thank you for this incredibly thorough and vast effort! It is by far the most comprehensive documentary of our history on YouTube, at least as far as I have seen!
56
For most of the period of this 1000 year rivalry Wales was a part of the kingdom of England
55
I love this. Please do one for cryptids in Germany and/or continental Europe.
55
I stumbled across your channel today and cannot thank you enough for these amazing videos! Seriously , fantastic work. I will be watching EVERY ONE of them!

Pineapples are actually the only known food we eat that actively digests us. That is why after eating pineapple many people get sore gums and swollen lips. It is the pineapple 'eating' the flesh layer off of the inside of your mouth.
53
Absolutely love the campfire series, I'm sure they take forever to make, but they're awesome
53
You always pick good questions that other YouTubers don't choose and explain them properly. Brilliant work as always.
53
Awesome video! I watched your documentary on Germany a few months ago, and it was great. Germany and it's history are so intriguing.

5:50 - It should be noted that "Mexico" itself comes from the Aztecs. The Aztec Empire was essentially three neighboring city-states allied together to form a country of sorts. "Mexica" refers to the people of Tenochtitlan, the most powerful of the three city-states and the alliance's de facto rulers.

Thank you for an excellent history of one of my favorite spices. I began to investigate different cinnamons in the 90’s when I got into baking. There is absolutely a marked difference between Chinese, Vietnamese , and Ceylon cinnamon. The product on grocery store shelves is more robust in flavor and is usually Cassia. If you want a more gentle form, then Vietnamese is good but the most delicate and nuanced flavor is from Ceylon. It’s more expensive but worth the money if you care about the difference. I’ve been purchasing my cinnamon and vanilla, lemon, and orange extracts from Penzey’s Spices here in the US. for decades. All the products are thoroughly marked and you know exactly what the ingredients are. The catalogs explain the purpose and sometimes offer recipes. I’m not connected to this company- just a long time purchaser.

Fire of learning is such an amazing channel! I’ve been following you since the start of the pandemic!

As long as the aliens don't touch Peanut the capybara!

Ive seen this covered so many times probably more than 10 times... thats not gonna stop me from watching another great fire of learning video! Thanks

Awesome video! My fave things about this story that he didn’t touch on are that Marie Louise’s children from her second marriage (which was morganatic) would be super mean to Franz Ferdinand’s wife (also morganatic). Interesting hypocrisy. I also like how Napoleon III’s birth name was Louis Napoleon but his older brother’s name was Napoleon Louis. Far too many Prince Napoleons out there at that time. One of them went by the nickname Plon Plon haha.

For long I wanted to know about Roman History, your video made it so easy. Post more great stuff!! Cheers!!

This could have been Jack O Lantern's big break.
48
You are the only channel I have notifications on for, every video is so interesting and well done
48
Great video as always! My name is Corbin and I was born in 94. My parents chose the name from Corban, a word used in the bible meaning a sacrifice to god or gift. I do believe that the definition of my name has manifested itself in my life in strange ways. So when my son was born (on my birthday of all days). My wife and I named him Baron as we hope he will be strong, brave, and noble in his actions.
47
Good video, looking forward to more like these. Good, balanced take.
46
Love the cryptid videos. As for the ghost ship- it's both a fun afterlife and a malevolent ghost trap. The captain was a real introvert, so he designed his evil ghost ship to just be a neverending party. But it's got really chill vibes, so everybody else is having a good time. "Hey, great party! But it looks like we're out of chips." "YOU WANT CHIPS, DO YOU? WELL THEN, CHIPS YOU SHALL HAVE! MUHAHAHAHA!!" "Hey, thanks!" "...sigh."

I wish I was not so poor I would give some $$$ on Patreon. Even $1 is to rich for my blood these days. Thank you for the great history lessons.
45
I love your videos. Please keep them coming. :3

A history of Spain two part series would be much appreciated. From Reconquista to Conquistadores...

As a hillbilly in West Virginia who lives around 80 miles northeast of Flatwoods, I find it hard to believe that my fellow hill folk would misidentify an owl 🦉of any sort. The entire state of WV is pretty much "the woods" and we tend to know the critters that live here. I'm not exactly sure what happened that night, but I feel that it's more than just a big bird that people in the area are familiar with. Montani Semper Liberi ⛰

This is the first of your History of Nations documentaries that I've watched, and it will not be the last. You do an uncommonly good job of laying everything out simply and clearly, providing a decent amount of detail and context without getting bogged down anywhere. Your narration is easy to follow, too, never droning or boring me. So the result is that I learned a LOT in the last hour. Remembering dates and even general time frames have never been my strong point, and you just helped me put a long list of people, states, and events into a coherent timeline that might actually stick with me. Thank you, and please continue this series!
44
Nice to listen to you. You are an artist.
