Cute but I'd rather find a wooden or steel one on Marketplace or Craigslist

I sat here and said to myself, “they have got to be vegan. I would be blessed if I had 10% of their mental capacity. I’ve fallen in love with this couple! God watch out for them and keep blessing them. ❤❤❤. Great interview.

She's adorable, sweet and humble but I hope she will at least consider a high top for her posture as she ages. A shorty Ford or General Motors high top van does well in the city because they can park anywhere. She can go up to 20' in length and still roam most cities freely. She's brave and smart and I love that at now 63 she's out there roaming in a minivan, that is so BOSS!

Life has no guarantees, even having savings and wealth and properties.

Carol - Thank you so much for being an advocate and sharing the stories of unhoused people. This is totally unacceptable in the supposedly “greatest country on earth”. I hope Jamie gets housing soon.

Bob is a pioneer on this topic. He has done a lot for the nomad community. I think you have to have an exit plan as you get older. Owning the ground under you is the only way to have some security. I live in New England. No way would this lifestyle be supported here. Arizona seems to be the state of choice for most. Spend winters in the southern part of the state and summers in the northern part. Thank you for this video. I love your channel, also!

If people qualify for: a.) food stamps; b.) a weekly reduced cost or free seniors lunch at a seniors centre; and c.) food pantry or food bank, please use these. These will lighten your financial load and let you pay off debt. Good luck to us all 😊.

God willing more churches remember what their mission is supposed to be.

Her use of the vertical space is brilliant❣️

"Some things are a little wonky." I say that a lot throughout my build series. Lol. Eva's rig is beautiful. She did a great job!

This may aggravate some folks, but our government should be helping people like the senior citizens, the veterans and the homeless instead of spending tax payer money to help the illegals. I would be extremely pissed off if my mom had to live out of her vehicle. I have nothing wrong with people living in their vehicles. I have been thinking very seriously about it myself as an adventure to see more United States sites. I am lucky and blessed to have my home and everything I own paid off. God bless the folks that are having to do this as a way of surviving.
61
You pick the most interesting people to feature in your vehicle tours. What a life learning experience for her daughter while working also on her own business! She has arranged the car to work very well for her needs and very impressed. God bless them both.
61
I love that she is reusing the plastic zipper container for her cleaning supplies that was once a sheet or pillow case type bag. Those bags are so useful! Too many people throw them away.
61
What a delight to meet this lovely lady! Kate is an amazing inspiration! Thank you for sharing your home.
61
If Christina's van has half the vibe, beauty and smarts as its builder, it'll be a stellar build. Looking forward to seeing the future developments :)

I've been decluttering my small home for 5 years so when I die there won't be much to get rid of. I've kept some books, 2 hymnals and 4 or 5 Bibles I've used over the years. Going to get rid of some winter clothes I never really wore much and already did it with summer clothes.

I believe that as nomads/car campers have gotten more popular with social media, news outlets, etc., these incidents will inevitably increase. Social media, especially, is bringing lots of attention to people living in their vehicles and now criminals have more places to vandalize, etc.
60
Van life is miserable, consider all what this lovely lady has said. If you are on social security I think a good option is to move to a cheaper country. I live in Thailand for under 500 dollars a month, I have a wonderful toilet and nice air-conditioning.
60
I have friends who hardly ever camped and think they can be a nomad! Hahaha...I think they have been so romanticized by some of the videos and really need to look at the ones where people have gotten stuck a hundred miles out in sand, snow, flat tires, break downs and they have to spend days in a hotel or renting another vehicle while theirs is being fixed, towing costs can break the bank. It's a harsh reality when you are out by yourself and no one is around to help you. I'm glad that woman realized it wasn't for her before she got rid of everything.

I appreciate you, Carol. Thank you for being so caring and honest.

I’m 68 yo single woman in the rural South East. I live in a stationary 11 year old RV on family land. I bought groceries and gas today. I loaned my butane stove to my daughter during the Helene power outage. My rv stove is propane which worked great during the power outage. Thank you for your coverage.

Doug seems to really care about those he rents a spot to, $255 a month is incredibly affordable, for a dedicated space and water. I know one down side of boondocking is leaving your spot to run an errand and coming back and it’s been taken. Here you can leave for an adventure, and return to the same location.

Unreal how poorly we seniors are treated. BUT Vets should be HONORED!

Google these words ”why does marriott charge a hold fee?" You will find out that you are not alone in the practice of these charges occurring. The amount is not clearly defined apparently. I read an article that one guest was mysteriously "ghost charged $518." They have called these incidental holds and openly stated they are also a deposit in case the room is trashed. The differing amounts is clearly the point of your curiosity, and the pivot of any unfairness to anyone. I think you and any guest of Marriott ™ deserve an answer to this question.

More people need to speak up, stop being afraid and not allow the bullies to keep them silent. They call names as a means to shut us up and keep us quiet. Much respect to you for speaking truth!
60
Glad Kat decided to take a positive step of not being offended by that person's comment(despite whatever the intent) and examining what was being seen then making the choice to have doctors check the swelling. I will be praying that the doctors have wisdom and that you will be completely healed. Blessings.

Well I have never ever ever seen a van that self efficiently built that is just neat she is really really living the van life great I love everything about it there's not nothing that I don't love about it she is such a neat woman I hope that she has as much fun as she could ever have and live a very long time God bless her

Some seniors are very much afraid of their children ! 😢 I know of a caregiver who was taking caring of a very sick elderly lady who has a lot of kids . They would eat up her food , but not replace anything! The caregiver would go out and buy food for the lady and the children would eat that up.!!! She quit , but then she went back , then quit again . The children were messing up the house , bringing in their friends , drinking , etc . The lady was a very nice lady , but afraid of her kids . This goes on a lot , all over the world! So sad . 😢

I do believe Marina made the perfect choice for her life. She positively glows with contentment.

Sorry to hear this, Carol. Thanks for spreading the word.

Thanks for these very important tips. I had someone try to steal my car right out of a Planet Fitness parking lot on a main street. I was inside my Sienna preparing to bed down for the night. They couldn't see me due to window covers. I saw headlights and peeked out. The car came strangely close to mine and then parked. As I watched they were talking loudly to each other (since they didn't know I was there) and I realized from what I heard they were getting ready to break into my car. They had posted a lookout and were discussing how to proceed. I ripped off my window covers and made noise, and that scared them off. I learned from that even though I was in a busy gym parking lot, I was somewhat out of sight of the main group. I was just around the corner of a vacant restaurant across the lot from the gym. That was enough to embolden the thieves. Now I try and be within eyesight and shouting distance of others at night if possible.

Finally the truth about living on the road. There are many channels that try to glamorize it. There is nothing glamorous about it. It’s really about poverty and desperation.
59
This is why it's important to find the right partner to live with, especially if I have a roommate have the right roommate. Because as humans. We need companionship, but you also need time alone as well.
59
Wal-Mart gift cards will help - hopefully she can get enough to have someone take one tire a at time to Wal-Mart and replace them... Sending a gift card today!
59
For the sake of peace and safety of the group and all the craziness going on in the world, the facilitator did the right thing. I’m proud of her actions.

I was impacted by this windfall situation. It’s so unfair! I worked 22 years and paid into social security and then worked 18 more years at a city. I lost $800 a month due to the windfall. 😡 I sure hope I can get back pay and the correct SS pay.
59
This saddens me deeply. I would have done anything to accommodate my parents, even if it meant putting a bed in the middle of my living room for them to sleep on. It is a honor to take care of those who took care of you for so many years. If l lived near them, l would have taken them into my home and into my heart. What a shame knowing that your eldery parents are in a bad situation, but you don't help them. How do you even live with yourself?!!!
59
She has an ageless spirit!!! She lives her life like it belongs to her!!!!
59
He seem like such a peaceful human. I could never tell him to move along. NEVER EVER!
59
I'm so glad to see someone addressing this. There is going to be unrest no matter who wins the upcoming elections. I've just decided that I'm going to hunker down in my house for however long I need to. I'm over 60 and I can't defend myself like I could when younger. We are seeing a rise in crime in my suburbs that didn't happen 3 to 4 years ago. And, boy, have the food prices jumped up! They didn't creep up; they jumped up!!
59
Wow, this gal did an awesome van build. She is definitely a creative engineer. I love that she did cork flooring as I have been thinking about doing that when I get to do a build(someday). I'm also saving that "pull out clothes rack" in my notes, great idea. I see this young gal going far, she has really got it together and I'd love to see what she does in the future. Thanks Carol for another wonderful van tour, have a good weekend!

“If you don’t live your life now, when will you?” Note to self - Tomorrow is promised to no one.
59
"The GLOW simulator" I love it, Carol you are such a wealth of knowledge, thank you for all the work you do to keep others safe.
59
You, Ms Debbie and Tim are awesome for helping Hank out in this all too common situation. Warms my heart 👍❤️⚔️🔥🐴
58
Tim’s build is SO thought out! ( I love how “neat” he keeps everything) great video Carol❤️😊👍🙏

Roscoe, is a small dog, they should not be so expensive to have a comfort animal, I can understand a small monthly fee and it is not fair for them to be separated like this, I am glad they are both safe and happy
58
I met Kate at a scenic turn off in California on my way from Washington to Arizona. What a lovely person, and so talented! I was really glad to catch up with her again in Arizona...and I'm so glad you captured her and her van on video!
58
The truth is that many seniors in this country still need to work partime to make ends meet. Many seniors do not have the luxury of living off a pension or IRA account....If they live long enough to benefit from it. More needs to be done to help seniors, the disabled, and children.
58
I've kicked all toxic people out of my life. Thank God I like being alone. I'm my very own best friend.
