  3. honestly saw this coming from a mile away, if u spend some days on flight radar you will see the drone fly circles in the middle of the black sea every 2 days ish and the US trying out new spyplanes near the west border of urk, in a lot of ways the black sea is also a part of the ukranian conflict and the drone was occupying that whole space for intell so russia "took care of it", the US overstepped their respectable boundary they had with russia, but then again war never has true respect and only objectives for own benefit

  7. ​ @TSPLY  personally I think it would cause a larger problem, let's say it goes through, and we wage a war on the cartel, now if we won, you can just look at US cities after a gang round up, crime does go down briefly, but it goes up drastically when a new group moves in or raises up to fill the power vacuum, so long term it will only makes things worse

  10. I'm in the AR and when half my unit deployed there was a huge shitstorm of paperwork and regrouping people into platoons. I was an alternate on the mob roster but never had to go. Which meant that I was excused from all the responsibilities of the home team during the months leading up to the deployment. The last 2 months before new platoons were set up to accommodate for the finalization of the deployment I was still on the mob list but not going. I was never put into a new platoon during this time. I was in sweet purgatory for 2 drill weekends and wasn't under anyone's leadership which meant that I could do whatever I wanted to and get paid for it. Then a list turned up with people in my mos and I got busted when they found out that I was still at the unit.

  22. I would have probably hated life if I’d stayed in the same mos. Eventually I finished my masters and finished out as a counselor. There was basically no chance at promotion but I finished in a pretty Cush office setting helping people who made stupid mistakes mainly with drugs and alcohol.

  26. I wanted to enlist years ago. College degree under my belt. I was turned away by the army for being 8 pounds over weight. I protested, by saying "Isn't bootcamp for this issue and conditioning?" They scoffed, and I left. I don't know, maybe I was wrong? Hanford recruiting office in California in 2016.

I think they should just have completely separate simulators even with the cons of that because then they will have to take all of the simulation equipment out and then someone at one point will lose and break stuff and the next thing you know you done did lost 2 thirds of your equipment and you have to buy more opposed to simply just having a designated few vehicles or areas that are not a part of your vehicle so you dont have to keep track of everything

  32. If america was invaded i would have the motivation to try and learn as much as i can and im sure i would be given the same or less training but i would make the most of it the one thing no one puts into the equation is the human factor of defending your home

  33. 3rd grade during shock and awe?! Fuck sake, I feel old. I think I was a junior in high school. I remember all my older friends and their friends lining up outside the counselor and recruiter offices in the days after 9/11, there were lines stretching around the school. Made me pretty proud. Miss a lot of those guys.

  35. i just so hope it will not escalate intoa full-blown conflict. i recently finished basic in the dutch army, got assigned to a unit. ofcourse i trust them with my life, but i want to be better prepared instead of being cannon fodder.

  37. When I was on a joint operation I asked an airforce NCO for two of his airmen to be road guards for like 20 min to fill a gap left by some civilian that was running late. He tells me I need to ask his LT. Cool, no big deal, so I ask the LT. LT says I have to ask her Captain. I ask the captain. The captain tells me he doesn't know if he can authorize that and proceeds to call somebody. At this point the civilian showed up and it was a non-issue. I tell the captain this and go about my day, forgeting about it. Four hours later a full colonel tracks me down and explains to me that she can't authorize her airmen to be near the roads cuase they hadn't done a risk assessment. She then apologized to me, a random E4 at the time, before leaving. Army side that NCO would have probably just told me to F off.

  39. The mass amounts of tech that went on to a Humvee during the height of the Iraq war especially during The surge which was my time, is absolutely impressive. There are so many other anti IED systems I don't know if they're classified or unclassified yet but let's just say they're super awesome.

  44. T-Sply, there are several cartels, with each having thousands of members. To those who are saying that the border should be permanently closed, you-all need to attempt to critically think about that if you can develop the ability. You are you suggesting the intentional tanking of the economy. Mexico is the number one trading partner of the U.S.. If the border is closed, there will immediately be shortages of everything and the costs of consumer goods will go up, causing the economy to tank. If you think inflation is high now, it will become unbearable. Plus, there will be extreme and high job losses. That, in turn, will cause the GDP to fall and banks to fail. Then what? This is not rocket science. This is basic 10th grade level economics. BTW, most of the drugs come into country through routes that do not cross over the southern border. Many come via air and ship. The fentanyl comes from China and the heroine from Turkey, Afghanistan, and other parts of Asia. Also, the basically, wide open northern border with Canada, has always been a well-known route. That dates back to the days of prohibition. As long as Americans have addictions, there will always be someone who figures out how to import drugs. Those are both guns and drugs. Junkies and the proudly uneducated and gun gropers. Both of which have severe mental issues.. like paranoia and addiction. Also, the violence in Mexico is kept going by the unchecked gun manufacturers and loose gun laws here in the States. What ignorant Americans refuse to understand is the fact that Mexicans are as upset with Americans and their guns freely flowing south and into Mexico. The problems are, in fact, Americans.
