  1. Great video! It is enlightening to get a perspective from an employee from the inside. It reinforces the conviction I have in the company and have had for quite some time. I know I invested in Tesla, years ago, with both eyes and ears engaged and that my read was correct. I’m astonished that this is only the second video I’ve seen of this type from a former employee. It makes me wish I were 40 years younger. I spent 43 years with a major aerospace company and had the unusual unofficial job of being a fixer. If something was broken or hopelessly behind schedule, many times I would find myself packing my bags and heading into the hotspot. It was tough (especially on my young family), but I loved all the ground I covered and the skills I acquired over the years. I think Tesla would have been a better fit for me. Legacy companies aren’t organized that way and I often met great resistance and was initially perceived as an outsider. Too many times, the fiefdom was protected at the expense of the company. It sounds like Tesla has gotten it right (warts and all).

  6. Tesla's margins are higher than Ford's. Tesla's manufacturing processes are leaps ahead in efficiency, particularly for high volume Model 3 and Model Y.

  7. Elon’s vision is indeed a grand vision. A digital town square for the betterment of humanity that is not incentivized by political divide via echo chambers of polarized groups. Pushing on the traditional laws of power and incentives. Failure is possible, yet success could be a brighter reality to work towards. Love Elon’s thoughts and approach. Day 1 - this is a great statement of intent.

  9. I am a Republican who bought a Tesla not because of Elon. When Tesla started, buying a Tesla didn't make economic sense to me. ICE cars even with the higher gas prices were more economical until this year. After taking a Tesla for a test drive I realized this is the future. The cars became affordable and made sense to me to make the change. No Elen, politics or climate change played any part in my purchase. Common sense played a role.

  18. Elon's well-deserved recognition on Time magazine - difficult for the current US administration to ignore Elon's contribution. I agree with the fellow sentiment that Elon's impact is greater than 1 year. Elon already has had decades of impact on humanity already and will likely have an impact for the coming centuries.

  23. I don’t think people realize it costs over $1M and 18 years to reproduce a human viable to bring value to the market place. Assuming they start out making $50k a year If Tesla could produce a bot in a couple hours that’s equivalent to that…. The possibilities are limitless

  30. I drive Lyft and I get couples that fight over who get to take the Tesla for the day. Once you have everyday access to ANY EV, it will be you first choice. You will ONLY choose you ICE vehicle for road trips, at least until you are confident in taking the Tesla on road trips. My two Model Ys have made round trips from California to Missouri and my 2019 Model 3 went coast to coast round trip in 2019.

  37. Once it's clear to the most oblivious amongst us that the ICE age is over, there will be millions of people still making payments on an asset that has lost all resale value. Many will purposely default and take the credit hit, rather than wasting $400/month. I'm not calling for anything like a foreclosure crisis, but with auto loans, though 🤔. Really, what I'm more certain about, is that it will be meaningful enough to reduce the profitability of their business model. Add in the loss of operating leverage and it's goodnight Irene.

  45. One of the main reasons I ever decided to invest in Tesla is because of it's mission and that remains the same today. I've read every Master Plan and it never fails to fill me with HOPE for the future. As this Investor Day comes around it appears that in true Elon fashion we are going to go PLAID and I can't wait. I hope many more will join us and I hope it will create more of everything good that I believe we as investors in Tesla are invested in Tesla for. It does go beyond the money, it goes global and it goes to the heart.
