  5. I believe we are experiencing a long squeeze, the opposite of short squeeze. Given the volume we see lately, it's not retail traders but institutions getting long squeezed. Elon broke the chart with Twitter drama and as a result triggered many algo trades, and finally the long squeeze. I don't know where the bottom is but i know once it hit bottom, we will likely see a 10-20% jump in a day.

  11. There was a brief golden nugget in the presentation that I don't believe anyone has totally interpreted. It was a rather compressed package of information in the video of the bot. Yes, it showed improved articulation, dexterity and more than one newer version of the bot. But I believe the real message in the video was the machine that builds the machine. Two bots involved in attaching an arm to a third bot. The manufacturing plant is the machine, but the bots are going to be an integral part of that machine. I don't think Tesla will have to "fire" a ton of people, but I do think the humanoid bots will comprise about 20% or more of the human(oid) work force in the next 3 years. That could then mean 20% or so of the workforce will be bipedal bots and 80% will be humans. Consider the differential in the cost of the bot and operation of a bot vs. the human "loaded" salary. This means the bot will pay for itself, it's iterations for a couple years, and learning capabilities while it's employed in house. This means when the bot is released for sale or lease to business or public, it will already be a much more mature product with a high level of learning capabilities and usefulness at a vary low cost. The real meaning behind the bot video was more so that of the bots attaching the arm onto a third bot and what that implies. I think the whole presentation was not actually interpreted well as a whole, only some parts of it. Maybe it is just me, but I was in total awe of the implications. I think it was lost on most analysts and institutional investors and even a good part of it on retail investors. I think another key point is that most people are simply looking at Tesla like it is just an isolated company. What they are not looking at is the synergies that are yet to be born from Tesla, Space X, The Boring Co., Neural Link, Twitter, potentially a new "Open AI" led by Elon. There are already some connected synergies, but many more to come. Think about it. The actual scale of companies is far greater than just Tesla and one or the other.

  12. Great episode, and great channel, Farzad. Episode idea for you: As a mental exercise, could you break down the different tasks/responsibilities of the day-to-day at your old parts center in PA? Then, apply Optimus to each of those. What tasks would be low-hanging fruit? What tasks could it grow into with some AI training? What is left for human employees? Walking through this kind of work breakdown could really help crystalize the Optimus potential. Thanks for all you do!

I'm a professional driver, and have a hard time when im a passenger, and the driver isn' thinking as far ahead as I would. But on the other hand, it is very obvious, that most of my passengers pay almost zero attention when i'm driving them.

  20. When I was part of an engineering management team I used to tell the rest of the managers that WE worked for the shop floor, not the other way round. I was invariably met with blank expressions or the shake of a head. Lazy management is what holds industry back, not lazy employees.

  25. Another big saving for home owners is the air conditioning side of the heat pump. My heat pump saves an enormous amount of money to cool as well as heat. My electric is half the amount I was paying with my old system.

  26. Kimball musk and company have some pretty neat shipping container farming ideas that grow the ideal vegetables from the ideal conditions created by the shipping container. It has HVAC controls to get just the right amount of moisture and temperature and so on and so forth. I'm sure it would have to be adapted for the Martian environment but I think they have a pretty good start with that kind of thing.

  29. Now if only someone could get Gary to understand this or at least allow for this possibility! Meanwhile TSLA ended today in the GREEN and orders are coming in at a crazy rate in China. I also made the decision, that when I buy a Tesla I WILL NOT look at the price after I sign the paperwork or listen to stories about the cost because this is not the first time Tesla has lowered their prices, nor will it be the last. You buy the car at the price you could afford at the time that seemed reasonable for you if you want NEW. The depreciation hit today feels really bad, but most people are holding on to their cars a lot longer and the savings after their loan as well as any other perks that could happen while owning the car balance out. What other car can you buy today GETS BETTER WHILE YOU PAY IT OFF?

  30. FARZAD, I'm a Clinical Therapist and my undergrad was in business. My view is that TESLA specifically is able to have this culture because the people are COMPETENT enough to self-manage and figure things out. Most people don't have those traits whether it's nature or nurture. We see this in people struggling with being freelancers and their "side hustles" during these few years, some can take initiative and self-manage, but some have not been able to do it.

  31. I agree with your overall number, but the car business will be more likely 20 million, as with robotaxis you need far less cars as on average cars are only used roughly 1 hour per day. You completely left out the AI part for industrial use cases, if Tesla manages to get a general artificial intelligence first and becomes a leader in this field, the potential is insane, just imagine all professions which involve a vital need of intelligence. Dojo is clearly a project of importance for Tesla, they put quite some resources in it and made some significant progress.

Watching him come close to tears several times in his interviews show real depth to his character. In my opinion, there has never been an equal to Elon. I have known people who were members of the Mensa Society and none of them seemed to be nearly as intelligent as Elon.   48. As a Tesla investor and someone who lives in Asia, it is great to finally see in-depth insight into the Teslaā€™s main adversaries which are the China automakers. Make no mistake China is driven, very smart and huge. No fault of their own as you mentioned Farzad, most channels on YT keep comparing Tesla to US and European carmakers and stating how well Elon Musk is doing against these western legacy automakers. No! My worry has been China and Michael Dunne has hit the nail on the head. My biggest concern is technology transfer and once China understands everything Tesla has especially in software and FSD it nudges Tesla out. Itā€™s great that Elon has an excellent relationship with China but itā€™s one that works while there is a mutual benefit. Musk has a big brain and I know heā€™s thought this out and has a plan. I am an optimistic by nature ā˜ŗļø But this is my main concern for Teslaā€™s future in next 5-10 years.
