Thank you for this lecture.

The author of "The Lord of the Rings" in his notes indicated that Ravenna served as the prototype of the fortress city of Minas Tirith. However, I think that the fortress of Masada also influenced this image. The Aragorn character and the Stewards of Gondor is clearly a reference to the Merovingians (there is an assumption that the Merovingians of Jewish origin) and thе Mayors who replaced them. Elves also have clear Jewish attributes and names. It would be interesting to analyze "The Lord of the Rings" from the point of view of Jewish mysticism and esotericism.

I’ve been listening to your channel for months. I came across it when the algorithm suggested it, probably because I got into more new age things? It’s been so interesting to learn the actual history, and your voice is so nice, it’s gotten me through a lot. Thank you!!

I can't believe I put Collisson's translation out there 14 years ago. Anyway, I added English translations of the Latin passages in footnotes now.

After spending so much time consuming occult/esoteric knowledge on youtube via lectures etc..THIS was the channel I've long been searching for. This video along with your incredible guest speaker made 45 minutes fly by like nothing. Thank you Justin for your contribution.

Thank you. I am a direct descendant of John Alden, who was lucky to be a survivor of the Salem Trials, but never knew about the frenzy in Connecticut. All witch trial victims should be posthumously pardoned and their killers condemned.

I’ve never heard of this guy before. Thanks for the episode. Is there a published method for his astrological method? ❤

I think you provide a very serious service to mankind, and are absolutely the only channel worth financially backing. Im in no way being a sycophant, I honestly believe this. There is a profound gaping hole in the world where finding meaning, or even a reason to continue to even exist is falling away. That is a horrible state of affairs in every nation. Here are a slew of answers ( to that condition) in a massive spectrum.

The Talmud , "Dreams are 1/60 prophecy." Agrippa, "Those are rookie numbers, you gotta bump those numbers up."

Just popping in here to say as a pagan who's patron is Set, I was pleasantly surprised by the care, understanding, and general non-hatred towards him that is not seen in most modern media. Even "educational" texts and documentaries focus on the latter demonificiation of Set, and refuse to dig deeper into the more ancient practices of his worship. You have made my Sethian heart so happy, Dr Sledge. Please accept the heartfelt hug. 🫂💜💙

Dr. Sledge is an awesome superhero name. Also? I love your sense of humor, and you'd be welcome at my D&D table any game night. Thanks for breaking down these esoteric topics suitably for lay persons; I find them fascinating, even though I don't have the time or the right kind of mind to sus it all out for myself.

I never heard of the Heptameron, but now I need it in my collection right next to the keys of Solomon. Angel and "fallen angel" magic has been fascinating to me. Something intrigues me about the kind of will and mind one must have to feel that one can control such powers. Time to grab a copy! Also, new Evil Dead sequel WHEN?! Would definitely watch that

The realm of "white magic" is one of my absolute favorites (ignoring the modern version that has many dark rabbit holes). It's a fascinating mix of esoteric practice and dedicated faith. Thanks, Dr. Sledge!

Probably become a mobile game though, "Beguines vs Witches," and be totally pay-to-win. Habit +5 vs Sorcery be like $200 with all the microtransactions.
69
Eeehh, I've got a long way to go :D Beautiful collection, sir! Thank you for sharing! And congratulations on 100k! Very well deserved, and many more!
69
Thumbs up if you also think that a blackletter press edition of this book would be a nice idea.
69
Outstanding! More scholarly Chaos Magic-related videos are incredibly appreciated.

I am not sure how I found your page but I have wanted to do this work all of my life. Knowledge that everyone discards, I want to know all about it and spend decades immersed in it. I am looking forward to more of your work. Thank You!
68
Always cool when you go into some of the Postmodernist Continentals. Do more things like this, and Deleuze

"choke slam of the Absolute".
68
I dig your alchemy day idea. We'll see what we can do about that.
68
Perfect timing Purim, new Raz, Easter’s….. so interested in this ! Again your work is fantastic !!!!! Your brilliant and intriguing presentation is wonderful,Sir. Thank you !

Man. This is soul crushing to have learned from you however thank you for this. I am not an academic in any stretch of the word in any degree other than by thy self. Yet on my hunt for higher power I find Egypt and Thoth followings to seem to be the original sums of most religious followings in most ways. I appreciate your outlook on this issue. I felt like some videos and lack of much able to find online about it hit me wrong and now I see why. Love the channel. This was the most metal gift ever!
67
Awesome, that Sophia VPN sounds awesome. I just can't time travel just yet.
67
As someone who at least once a month thinks about the myth of the library of Alexandria I'm so here for this video 🙌

Once again many thanks for your wonderful research and lively presentations. King James was one of the most highly educated men of his time... and still came up with consistently high levels of brutality. For more misogyny (and ''Biblical authority'' contra proto-science) take a peep at the case of Euphemia MacLean (aka Eufame MacCalzean). Supposedly one of the key ''facts'' which clinched the conviction and multi-execution was the use of anaesthetics during a difficult chilbirth.... which must surely be Satanic, for it contravenes the Christian mis-reading ot Genesis 3:16, supposedly setting out painful childbirth as Eve's rightful punishment. Euphemia was as you say foredoomed anyway for mixing in the wrong circles: she was sentenced to be ''burned to ashes, quick'' ( quick in this case meaing ''alive'', without the ''mercy'' of prior strangulation). I've got links to some old History-Of-Anaethesiology journal articles if anyone wants more gruesome details. Again, sincere thanks for all your hard work. M X

Thanks you so much for literally all of your hard work, and I'm so excited for the new mirror of Lilith merch! I love your work so much, and your channel a ton! Seeing this video made my day, and I enjoyed learning while on my lunch break at work.
67
I hope you'll do this again in the future! I'm definitely a few years away from having 'world adventure' money lmfao
66
Hey Justin! Just realised I never mentioned this. I’m writing a comic book within which I wanna include lots of world mythology and esoteric/occult inspiration. Your videos are not only a treasure trove for such inspiration, but really opened my eyes to the ways people have studied and perceived occult practised throughout the ages. Thank you so much for your hard work! Hopefully I’ll get to show you mine someday!!
66
Happy Birthday Dr. Sledge. Your content has been most enlightening and frankly helped me recover from a bad spiritual stint by sobering my mind and bringing myself out of the trenches of dogma. Thank you!
66
Wow, that's really fascinating! I'm very glad that we've recovered those Ugaritic tablets. Thank you for your wonderful scholarship.
66
I forgot to thank you for your work!! Tapadh Leat!
66
as someone descended from Anusim and who is getting better at deciphering Medieval Spanish Inquisition records: THANK YOU. This is extremely relevant to my interests! While some of the Mexican records are banal, others are indeed horrifying. It's chilling how pervasive this campaign was, and how many thousands of lives it touched, even to now.
66
I love your channel so much. Your niche videos on religion and demons especially trigger my interest, the way you deliver the information is so satisfyingly informative but also relaxing. As a coincidence you happen to look facially a lot like my older brother, who is 10 years my senior and would tell me stories from video games and sometimes real world phenomena kind of like how you do. It's a bit of a stretch but watching you makes me feel nostalgic.
66
As an amateur book binder, this is my JAM!! So fun to see the pictures of the process. Thank you so much for this video!

So nice of Dr. Sledge to throw Carl Jung a bone. 😂
65
Thanks for sharing, Professor. Vulnerability’s never easy, but it really cements the harm done here. I hope you’ve found some healing as the years pass. I do actually remember some Satanic Panic in the ‘00s as a kid. Mostly in talk shows and stuff in the form of emo teenagers, I think. Most prominently, I recall a trashy “Is Oprah The Antichrist?” headline from a lady’s magazine at the neighborhood public pool. White christians are super weird.
65
I was literally just sitting, randomly thinking about Christian mysticism this morning and then stumble upon this interesting piece of work.
65
A thorough examination of Kramer's period and (possible) motivation for his creation of the Malleus. Very excited to learn much in the coming series, as I already have with the Excellent Kabbalah lectures. They are singly the most comprehensive, most interesting take I've ever had access to, and that's saying something for someone who's an arcane knowledge YouTube junkie with (way) too many half-read books. This channel has done the best job of presenting solid and thoughtful information on a wide array of esoteric subjects. Can't find enough adjectives to accurately demonstrate how stoked I am!!
65
7 minutes in, so far and really looking forward to this. I am not religious or spiritual at all. I shed my religious upbringing like an uncomfortable and poorly-fitting coat decades ago. I have no idea what "spirituality" means to me personally, and I'm skeptical that the word even has an objective non-personal meaning. My interest in religion and spirituality is firmly rooted in the exact sort of "historical materialist" methodology you champion - I'm interested in them purely as cultural constructs that form, evolve, diverge, merge and cross-pollinate in cultural contexts through history. I have zero interest in "becoming a Kabbalist" and I honestly doubt I could listen to a Kabbalist teaching Kabbalah for more than about 5 minutes without rolling my eyes and noping right out of there. But a 10 part lecture series from Dr Sledge on the subject? I am SO up for this!
65
Two Esoterica videos in one day?! Jackpot!!
65
Your channel is an actual gem, thank you for making this content
65
I just realized the set-animal is the was-scepter. From now I'll think of it as the chaos stick. Great video.
65
Thank you again for your work. When I first saw one of your videos, it mad me feel like an ignorant schmuck... which was a pretty novel experience at the time. Since then I have developed a deep admiration for your intelligence, your scholarship, and most of all for your dedication to making your work available for free to all who seek such knowledge and perspective, for whatever reason they seek it. Very well done Dr. Sledge. Your work serves as a shining example of what a great mind can do to be of service to the hungry minds (and souls) of the rest of the populace. Thank you.
64
Unexpected but very welcome continuation of the exploration of Abramelin!
64
This channel is fascinating. Delving into the esoteric while remaining grounded and not falling into credulity is a hard line to walk and I commend you for it. Subscribed!
64
the contrast between the intro, the content, the very host's appearance AND the subtle memery with the pictures is the best cherry on top of the cake I've seen God bless
64
This video is a tour de force! Got me down a rabbit hole with Spittler. He also thought the “Testament of Job” was re-worked by the Montanists!
