Scary/spooky stories are a traditional part of Europe’s solstice celebration. “The Green Knight”, “Childermas”, even a “A Christmas Carol” is a ghost story. Thanks again for another wonderful upload. Happy Hanukkah to you & yours.

If all his contemporaries were wrong, then he is not foolish. He is a hero for getting things wrong, so we could learn to get it right.

This is one of the best channels that has ever been on YouTube. Quality is incredible I’m so grateful

Absolutely worth the entire 75 minutes. Details that I would never have known (and really, how could I?) give such a more savory taste to what we know about the inquisition.

I wonder... have you seen Crecganford's videos on healing magic? There's a lot of 'the microcosm imitates the macrocosm' in old Indo-European folk magic. I would love a collaboration between you two. Edit: I have on my wall a (simplified) chart of the various biochemical pathways in a cell, including how we transform food into human flesh. I wonder what Paracelsus would have thought of it, if he was brought up to speed with modern biochemistry.

@TheEsotericaChannel thank you for the kind words. In its own way, Zoroastrians and Jews being friendly feels like keeping a 2,500 year tradition alive. I agree about the Magi too, there are a lot of things debatably added by them that seem very contrary to the teachings of Zarathushtra, yet are still accepted by many even today. It’s all so fascinating 🙏

Doc is such a kind soul, hes sharing his expertise with world and creating a coalition to explore all avenues even modern . His sense of kindness illumines all that he does... i have appreciated his work since early days..❤ to Doc religon tube and the supporters. Thank you for all you do and the community..

Hi Doc Sledge. I stayed up until 1 in the morning to tell you "Happy Teachers' Day"! Hope you have a good one and thank you for doing what you do.
79
Kind of surreal to think of Yahweh "leveling up" especially during humanity's short existence, when we are told to think of him as eternal. Hebrew and Christian scriptures seem to be equally critical of humans creating their own gods and then worshiping them, but the big guy himself is a man made amalgamation?
79
Your sense of humor really adds a little something extra 😅, love your content as a new subscriber thank you 🙏🏼
79
I'm furious with how brilliant that interpretation was. Absolutely unmatched in scholarship.
78
This is absolutely fascinating. There is so much here that I feel I’d need to watch several times, and take notes, and/or look into the reading, in order to go deeper. The different forms and modes of experiencing love are quite intriguing (making me want to map/contemplate them). But I’m also struck by your (her) description of the abyss, and the betrayal of love, IN ORDER to experience it most deeply. I feel the pain and tension of duality and unity, most acutely, here. The dance of polarity, of opposites, in order to experience unity. So thought provoking. Thank you for this. 🙏🏻💛

Witches Did It is an awesome band name, or at least an album title.
78
Best part of the week is the new Esoterica lecture, thanks Dr. Sledge!
78
Happy birthday, Dr. Sledge! I hope that your day is full of blessings and joy! It’s well known you love books on treasure magic, but when you bring us your incredible work here on esoterica, your magical scholarly videos makes you the true treasure found therein! Again, happy birthday, and Shabbat shalom!
78
Oddly enough, the enochian stuff has been a huge influence on the band Tool, especially the drummer Danny Carey. Their new album is called Fear Inoculum which can be said Fear Enoch-ulum. There’s tons of references beyond that. Big hello from Memphis
77
This brilliant blend of academia and entertainment proves that it’s totally possible to deliver the latter without sacrificing the former. 🔥
77
I knew of Wahdat Al Wajud, but never realized there were other Unity of Being philosophies appearing from different traditions. It’s a killer for sure
77
“I like big books and I cannot lie” my intellectual mind in a millisecond flipped to utter hilarity mode and I almost choked on my drink🤣🤣🤣 Your channel is amazing. I’ll be rendering a monetary token of appreciation very soon…It won’t be big bucks because I’m old, ill, and poor but it’ll buy you a coffee or a beer and will be proffered to you with love and respect. Sledgemeister Magnificento🙏❤️🔥🙏
77
Side note: spiritualists in Mexico were heavily involved in kick-starting the Mexican revolution
77
I LOVE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR!!! You're so seriously minded and academic in your content and then there's a joke, and often a witty and intellectual joke too!! They catch me of guard every time! And I love it!
77
Thoth is my patron. So excited for this video. He's such an important part of the pantheon, yet, there's relatively few myths centered around him.
77
I live in South Africa. Whilst listening to the section where you describe the types of people (mainly post menopausal and sometimes mentally ill women) as well as where you described the punishment just beforehand, I couldn't help but draw the chilling parallels to current ongoing mob murders due to people being accused of being witches in South Africa, and through other countries in Africa - also live burnings being a main tool. It completely blows my mind that it is still a practice and much more common than one would expect.
77
Thank you for this page. I'd give more if I could. I have a MA in Religious Studies from Union Theological Seminary and did work at Jewish Theological and Columbia as well. I focused on Syriac Christianity, early Jewish-Christian relations, and ancient magic so this page is a godsend. Thanks again.

Whenever one member of the divine council says to another, "hold my beer," you know there will be hell to pay on earth.
76
@TheEsotericaChannel Perhaps women were thought to be more susceptible to the demonic because they could both relate to the men in their life treating them like their mother 😁
76
God has led me on this journey of exploration and this is the first real video where I feel like the origin of something I love has been put before me in an easily digestible way. From a 25 year old student thanks :)
76
Thank you for your time, effort, and dry enthusiasm! I honestly can’t believe this content is available freely to us mortals. I’m looking forward to what is coming next!
76
Best takeaway: Never invite a prophet to your party 😂 But seriously, this is very interesting and informative, and your humor keeps the content from getting too dry, no matter how dry it (humor) is,👍
76
Dr. Sledge, your gentle humor makes these complex subjects much more accessible.
76
Ive had the pleasure of working with Dr Dzwiza through her kickstarter. She is genuinely passionate about this work, super willing to answer questions and share insights. I named one of the magic signs she had offered (an anti demon sign) and she took the time to compile some information for me on my sign, how it was used etc. Very thoughtful and just generally a pleasure to deal with.
76
One of the best parts of my week is watching these videos. Thank you for all your hard work!!
76
That paradox is also in the Picatrix: what is the goal of the sage? Perfect Nature. What is Perfect Nature? The culmination of all science and philosophy. How do you achieve perfect nature? By performing magic. How do you perform magic? By mastering all of science and philosophy.
75
@TheEsotericaChannel FAIR, my first language is French, sorry But, I do agree with every criticism you gave to academic philosophy.
75
Fascinating discussion! Even as a non-practitioner of anything (aka agnostic), it was interesting to hear the discussion of Thorn's and Marco's communities and how the pandemic affected. Thanks to all of you!
75
This guy is such a pleasure to learn from. The very best kind of philosophical/religious/what have you teacher. The kind that, while having his own beliefs, is happy to help you learn all aspects of these topics that there are, so that you can make your own conclusions and find your own way. If only all leaders of the spiritual side of life taught like this. 🙏
75
What a delight. We're lucky to have you here sharing this amazing work.
75
I found this video very cathartic... I'll show myself out.
74
Oh how I'd love to converse with experts, in a group, preferably alive, about these things
74
Your voice cadence, your entire online demeanor is so engaging. Such excellent work. Your videos answer questions that have haunted me for so long. I am so glad you found your calling, he said selfishly. And yes I have sent $$$, worth every penny. You have rounded out my Golden Dawn lessons and made them meaningful to my Jewish heritage which I struggled with and no longer do. At peace now, thank you brother.
74
His dry comedic delivery and overall sense of humor/wit continue to slay me (in the very best of ways, mind you). 👌👏
73
This is extremely well written, as is most episodes. Your research is profound and awesome, can’t wait for more about early Judaic literature and Messianic literature.
73
Dr.Sledge your commitment to researching theology in an interesting and accurate manner is appreciated
73
Excellent video! You mentioning Pistis Sophia several times really makes me want to hear your take on that massive text. That should be quite the interesting video whenever you get around to it (hopefully sooner than later).
73
Dr Sledge, you have no idea how much I wanted to stand up and applaud just now. Bravo! Sing it, preach it, let the not rich people have access to affordable translations of these wonderful old books. Nearest university to me that ‘might’ have copies of any of the high dollar translations of hermetics, etc…. Probably 250 miles from me. (This being ‘the south’ don’t even know if they allow such in their libraries. 🙄) I’m old now, never had college education. (Religion I was raised in forbade it.) But by crackety they couldn’t stop me from reading. You sir, are a breath of fresh air. And I thank you. (And yes, I ordered the book. 😆)
73
Very well done! Thank you so much, Dr. Sledge. Compelling and fascinating as always.
72
I am amazed how this channel can continuously put out amazing content. So many complex topics explained in a way that isn't too difficult to follow.
72
I've been meaning to do this for a while now. I really enjoy your material. Cheers! I can't bear to imagine what these Ancient Peoples must've gone through - you find your baby dead in the crib and then you hear a screech owl somewhere outside not knowing what it is. No wonder the Lilith figure has survived for so long. Jesus.
72
It would be amazing to hear more about alchemy in early America. Also love the idea of an alchemy lab “tour.” 🕯️⚗️🧪Another great video. Thank you!
72
Riveting! It rings so true that these esoteric teachings existed. I love the emphasis on experience in addition to book learning - being a musician, I feel music gives us to a chance to wheel through the cosmos in straight up arithmetic and geometry. Very interesting point about many present day spiritual paths not tapping into numbers much beyond a bit of numerology here and there. Also loved the notion of raising group energy and experiencing a new reality as a result. You’re making this space for us right here!
