  6. I'm 45 and life is a balance of everything. You GOTTA spend time with family and you GOTTA pay attention to your career/money too. You don't want to be broke in old age and have to work whatever menial job you can get because social security isn't enough. I do meaningful work and make very good money. I also make time for family. Life isn't choosing between the two. You CAN have both. You're choosing not to have both. Establish boundaries and separate the two and tend to the two.

  7. Wow, this video has hit hard. I was overweight all my adult life (am now 61 years old) but 7 years ago I decided to do something about it and over a year I lost 110lbs through diet and exercise. Exercise wise I concentrated on cardio only. However, what you just described in this video is me. I am now so much happier with how I look and feel. But I have lost so much muscle. I am what I call puny. I know I need to increase muscle but not sure how to go about it. But watching this makes me realise I need to address this.

  15. I’m only 44 but life is passing me by way too fast since I hit 40. The midwife crises has truly hit I’m presuming as I’m constantly in search for pastures new. I’ve started working out for the last 9 months and feel so much better. I don’t go mad I just do 25 to 30 minutes of weights and stomach crunches after work at local gym. I’m now looking to sell up and move to another country as the people around me don’t value my time much since have children and working a full time job. All I need is my wife and kids and some new places in nature to visit that put my mind a peace.

This capitalistic and over pressuring/performance world is not allowing us focusing on what really matter, which is love and peace!

  44. I'm 46, Got rid of 95% of friends years ago. I prefer my own company, have no social media besides YouTube. I no longer care what people think of me, I don't care for status either. I have 5 kids and they are all i need. Besides my wife parents and brother also. I lost my job because of my back and recently had a spinal fusion. I don't care about gossip, whos doing what or going where. I just don't care at all. I don't watch the news either. I stay home with the family, visit my parents and brother, i go fishing, camping, do gardening, cars, electronics. One thing I'd really love is to be able to by my family a home. Thats all other than that i have all i need. Death doesn't bother me, I'm glad life is short because i really don't want to be here for to long. Life is always hard no matter what you have or how healthy you are.

  46. I take it that you've probably achieved and raised a family in that 40 years of which you speak, Jim? This is not done overnight, and is incredibly hard work if done right; certainly not wasted, I'm sure. Also provides that sense of purpose that you mention. I believe that what changes is the 50+ years outlook, and the realisation of one's own mortality. We can't help but start to reflect on the time you have left!   49. I absolutely agree that time is the most precious commodity. I used to go about life with pride, this is where I gained so much in my career. But I was burnt out, miserable, no time or energy for anything.... I became a terrible person, which led to the loss the love of my life where we agreed to separate... I realized that I need to let go of what made me get there: my pride and ego. Now I'm slowly transitioning to go about life with love. Love for myself, love for my time, love for each opportunity that comes everyday. I became happier than I've been in years. I wish I could go back in time with what I know and understand now. But I can't and it breaks me to pieces when I dwell on it. In an alternate universe or the past reliving itself with a better me and her maybe. But I'll be okay with where I am and where I'm going, as long as I live life with love. Unburdened and free.
