Wow i resonate with it 100% , i am nearly 64 physical fitness coach and workout everyday but my body is slowing up , my 5k time went down by 3 minutes within the space of 12 months . I am 20 years sobriety and still yearn for maybe 1 drink for old times sake , but i never do because i know that i wont be putting my running shoes on anymore. I counted how many friends i have lost in the last few years .....all of sudden my 5k time is irrelevant and i will continue to remain sober . Thank you for your wonderful videos Jim x

  6. I have 40 more lbs or so to lose. This is good motivation. I got in great shape three years ago, but then I started eating carelessly again and gained the weight back. I’m down about 15 pounds so far and I am absolutely determined to get back into shape again. I won’t settle for less.

  8. No matter what your dreams and aspirations are, people, events and demons whether real or personal will let you down. I spend my time on living, experiencing and watching life, there are always lessons to be learnt. For those younger than 40, once you pass 50, you're supposed to take your foot off the gas, become an observor a spectator on life, leave the youngsters to be participants. I think that's why politicians and the rich try to leave legacies through statues, buildings or other memorials so they aren't forgotten.

  10. I’ve had a very similar career path as you. I’ve been a researcher, analytical chemist, environmental engineer/ scientist, health care professional and now a high school teacher. I’m curious, what are you teaching now? You have so much life experiences to share with your students. Take the time to share your insights with your students, friends and family. Yes, life flies by. We really need to make the best of it.

You will realize how giving will come back to you TEN FOLD. We are here on Earth by our choice through our never ending spirit. We chose to have our energy force FEEL and experience the human condition. Our life force (soul) NEVER dies, as long as our soul is GOOD. You are given FREE will and being judged by your soul’s character during this free will as a human. When you pass on the water meat suit, you will get the opportunity to go wherever you want in the galaxy with another form of life or come back again as a human. Be a GOOD soul and rewards ABOUND!

  15. If you’re not growing, you’re dying. SO true! Growth is huge for me. I put a lot of effort into learning from other people and their experiences. It’s amazing what we can learn when we just listen to other people. (It’s sad though, when we start outgrowing the friends and family around us. Would love your thoughts on how to handle this if you need a video idea. 😅) Gratitude is also super important for me to practice. I’m a recovering alcoholic (celebrating 10 years this year!). When you almost lose everything but choose to put in the hard work to get better and come out the other end healthy, loved and supported - nothing has made me feel more gratitude than that. Today, I have an amazing family and a life I could have never dreamed of and I believe that genuinely practicing gratitude has played a big part in that. Loved this video so much Jim! 🫶

A simple way anyone can help the world as if you go to a big store like Walmart just pick up a piece or two of trash in the parking lot and throw it away especially plastic. I'm 43 I have severe OCD my life is pretty much a disaster right now but I definitely agree with you there is tremendous brevity to life.. time is a precious commodity for us all that I took for granted a lot more when I was younger but I still need to watch myself and be more appreciative of the time that I have. I loved every second of it, you’re such a brilliant character and I’m grateful that you do what you do, and that I’m able to come along for the ride. The nerves will calm but see it this way, we’re not tuning in looking for you to perform, we’re there for you to drop in on us like if you were having a conversation round the table with your friends, of course we excitedly await the vids but don’t stack any unnecessary weight upon your shoulders, we’re happy going on your time! Also I think it’s excellent that you dedicate so much effort to staying in shape at your age, as evidently, a lot of the population don’t, but through you I can see to such an extent, the benefits of it!!

  40. Yeah I completely agree. I'm currently trying to be more present, especially with my wife and girls. I find social media and phones in general very addictive so I'm trying to be in it less and being in the moment, enjoying, appreciating the world we live in, it's a lovely feeling
