I’m sure if people are chasing something, they mean it because they’re doing it for a reason Sometimes you may get there and realize it’s not for you, but sometimes it takes getting there to actually realize it once you get into it Yes, you can have plans and motivations, but sometimes when you actually reach that thing you were chasing, sometimes it fits, sometimes not, and that’s OK The one thing we really need more than anything is Jesus in our lives

  2. About 2 years ago I decided to knock off some pounds and my wife and I did something simiilar. with a more Keto diet type of approach. I ended up losing about 60 pounds. Congrats on your success.

  3. I’m 60 in 2 months; I look 15 years younger and feel better than I did in my 30s and 40s. I was always into fitness and at 44 decided to become a personal trainer, did that for 4 years but I still continue training and running at least 4-5 days a week. I use to tell my clients, get an accountability partner, someone you can train with.

  6. So sad. Too many people gone too soon. I lost a fiance to breast cancer who was only 33 years old at the time and recently came across my own battle with cancer. Thanks for sharing. Stop the procratinating and live life to the fullest.

Love, Grow & Serve are a pretty great summary.  That reminds me of the simple instructions found in the book of Micah (from the Hebrew Bible) The instructions go something like this:   "But he’s already made it plain how to live, and what God is looking for in people. It’s quite simple:  Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously."

  25. Thanks sir for this good video. But can I criticise you here. Your approach is wrong. Changing things to make other things change will bring a combination of changes that may be the one big change. It is not a mathmatical formula or a strategy otherwise I could have made the big change and got this done with. After I have done and failed everything possible to change my financial circumstances I now realised that calibration with others will give the power to myself and others to make the change. Its not about me or you, it's about WE put our hands together... it is about we not about the I.

Totally agree helping others is a great way to make you help yourself/love yourself more …I always find when I help someone out (and I’m not looking for anything in return )then it makes me feel good and life seems clear …appreciate your video and I will definetely try and appreciate my time more after watching this 🙏👍

  31. Male, 58. I loved myself up until puberty, then my face changed and I believed I was unattractive. Well, it didn't help when others, even my own mother, made negative comments about my appearance. Even though my body was rock hard and muscular, I still didn't feel attractive, always shy, and introverted. I did end up having plastic surgery which improved my confidence significantly. Sadly, many don't love themselves due to being ridiculed, this leaves scars often leading to self hatred and the inability to love oneself.

  32. I will tell you what is another lie.. that retaining muscle mass is depending on the quality of food you eat. this might shock you, but it is the truth. I have been training for 15 years now and i took a loooong time to figure this out. In reality, retaining muscle mass is almost entirely depending on strengh training and overall caloric intake (considering your total protein is sufficient, which almost always is the case with western diat). "Eating clean" and high protein is waaaay less important. You lost your love handles due to strength training and caloric deficit, not due to "eating clean". Oh, and dot get me wrong, the quality and kind of food is sure relevant to your health. Just dont mix those two things up, health and body composition are two different things.

Also, as men, we grow up slowly but surely, you just realizing that you want to change things is enough to feel proud of it man, many people wake up in their 60s!! believe me you are super young, little by little and without punishment, get better and inspire others with your example

  38. Hey Jim, Thanks for the inspiration. I am 66 and am doing the same thing. I just ate a T-bone steak for lunch. I go to the grocery store and see our peers with stomachs and cannot move. Lifting weights has been a great friend. I just discovered you today. I got a lot from another video of yours on already having everything we need and the preciousness of time. I will subscribe today. Good stuff.

  42. I have you beat.. I had at least 10-12 different jobs, and two were 10 years stints each, so 10 other jobs in 17 years. Retired last year at 59 and I’m loving it

  43. Had similar situation. Fixed diet, stopped drinking alcohol and added testosterone to body. I am built like a 40 year old now and can out lift and outrun most 30 year olds at 57. I Diet and nutrition is everything. Helps your mental outlook too.
