Good morning, Sir 👋 I’m 16, and your words really made me reflect on my life and how things are. Sometimes, I take life for granted. I look into the mirror and subconsciously believe my hair will never turn gray, and that I have all the time in the world. That makes me procrastinate and feel miserable because I tell myself I have time to feel happier. Thank you for this amazing video, and I hope you have a great day. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷

Yes, life must not have been easy living a counterculture lifestyle without huge debt and overspending. But now, you won! Congratulations!
14
I am happy, $42,000 every month! Now I can give back to the people in my community and also support the works of God and the church.
14
Clock only goes in one direction. Better to be alone than to wish you were.
14
I’m 46. Man, you have a way with words! Everything you said is exactly how I would articulate it in eight minutes… if I were as articulate as you. Wishing you all the best. Bless you!

Iam 54 with 35 years at a power company..I truly could wake up and go to my high school locker in the morning as if no years have passed...so YES the years go by so fast that you some times are in disbelief..no internet back then to see these kind of videos but nevertheless iam thankful I watched yours

I'm 46. Purpose is something I think about a lot. Currently not working so I have time, it's using it wisely. I also realized how important the good people in your life are, they are hard to replace.
13
Yup some of my classmates never made it too 25. One died on a highway equivalent to a interstate trying to help someone and another drowned I think he didn't make it out of highschool. Our life is a Candle. Some candles never even get lit. (Stillborn) Some get blown out in accidents and others burn all the way till there's nothing left. All of us have a limited amount of time. Use it wisely.

Great video. I’m 35 and going through the process of divorce. My wife was unwilling to work on things and was with another man within days of leaving the house before papers were even filed. Spurs questions of self value, purpose, fulfillment, etc. I know her decisions are not a reflection of me, and I’ll continue to work on myself through therapy, the gym, volunteering, and staying close with friends and family, but it does get me feeling like life is passing by too fast. I hope I have not lost my chance to have a family.

Maybe because we are all human going thrue similar experience. The guy doesnt even have 1000 follower. He just does that out of sharing is experience...

Playing video games is the ultimate waste of time

Jim, I once remembered an old man saying that happiness is: I woke up, the sun is shining, nothing hurts (he means: physical pain). To be happy is to be able to be content with simple things.

Just turned 59. During my 20's, 30's and 40's, I was looking to have fun with friend's doing whatever was popular at the time. All the decades were different. Lost more and more friends along the way and now I don 't have any friends left except for my wife. Life is so different now and I feel there is nothing left to do and just waiting for the end to come.

100%. 27 years of age, at my lowest lows, girl of 8 yrs. left me, laid off no employment, and out of shape. I have stopped showing up for myself awhile ago. It’s time for that again and with consistency. Need to get my life back together. Thank you.

At 52 years old, I have realized the only thing important is in life is your health and your family and if you are extraordinary lucky, one or two friends
11
I have no regrets! I always choose to do stuff that scared me. So many are locked in a comfortable life and afraid to leap. Go, leap, take that step. Leave your family and friends, don’t be afraid. You don’t want to be this dude who is still lost and regretting he never took the leap. I have accomplished everything I wanted. Now I have freedom which is the ultimate life control.
11
Totally agree with what you are saying. I have not been eating healthy because I didnt love myself enough. Come 11 of April im going to Japan for 17 days and I will eat all healthy foods there. Love from Denmark 🇩🇰

@Jim_Burrows_Thrives be cautious about comments that recommend books. There are a lot of these comments on videos now and they are actually scammers.

Well... well deserved Mr. Jim, the message in the video should go viral, hopefully reaching more of these youngsters! Have a great day!😎

When we look for something we rarely, if ever, find it. Think of all the times you searched for a misplaced item, and in the process, found something else you'd looked for previously, couldn't find, and gave up. Whatever appears in life does so at the time it is meant to. But when we don't expect something fabulous and then get it----well, I think those are the most wonderful surprises of all and make life so sweet.

I've learned one thing above all else, starting with my cancer diagnosis at 4 years of age, onward through all my health complications. And that is, just walk away!

When people see me running every morning , usually in snow ❄️ below 0 temperatures this time of year in montana 🥶 I've been told multiple times I inspire them ❤ it makes me proud ..!💯

As someone in my later 20's and starting a family while trying to accomplish career goals, I appreciate your perspective. I hope you share more of your wisdom in future videos--I subscribed.

Hey Jim, thank you for your message. I’m 23 years old about to turn 24, and you’re right about time being the most precious commodity. I used to be wasteful with my time, doing unproductive things that never really mean much in the end other than satisfying my own personal wants, however I’ve learned over the past few years that things happen for a reason, and time and time again life has taught me that we need patience with the time we have, or else we won’t appreciate it for what it’s worth.

We do not "have time " ... Time " has us " ... / Time do not exist. It is human construct. Time is not passing ... WE ARE PASSING.

Same age, same situation...

Same here, used to looking for love. I longer looking for it and surprisingly all the stress is uplifted. Loving life again ❤
8
Thanks for sharing this wisdom. Just turned 40 and I’m wondering where the last 20 went. I will use your words here in my ethos moving forward. God bless

The systems in America are meant to divide us and take our time away from us. Love takes energy and most people don't have energy left after a long day of barely get by. I left the country and found love again because I have time and energy again.
8
Well done Jim.. when you are authentic and speak from your heart and give without expecting anything back so that’s why! 😊🥰
8
In my life, this is the first time someone has been motivated to get uncomfortable, and I am surprised to say I understand. nothing grows in your comfort zone.
8
Yup, memento mori. There's one non renewable resource we all share...time.
8
The world would be a better place if there were more honest and helpful people like you ❤
8
You’re a good man! Takes one to know one! Please do not stop helping people as that is your inner Angel! I am 61 yo myself, gave 20 years as a volunteer cop & sergeant out of New York City in lower Manhattan. My precinct was attacked on 9/11/01 and went from my working day job right to Ground Zero for 3 days and nights. Manage your time wisely and be very selective with whom you help, but remain that Angel on Earth.
8
Time is worth way more than money. But they are both illusions.
7
I love the idea of creating community in the YouTube comments :) Cheers Jim!
7
I love the noise surrounding you. It is so calming, soothing. I wish I had such noise around my house.
7
when I listen to you, it feels as if I am listening to a loving father figure. Please keep on uploading videos Jim.
7
Amen. 41 now and I got way calmer and accepted way more things without to resignate, but do more things that were not leading to a better career for example, but were better for my mind and as a side effect, my free time and thoughts in my head have more to do with self developing things that give me inner peace and joy and likeminded people.

Thanks i’m 24 and i agree with everything you said in this video really brings confirmation to a lot of my thoughts 💯🙏 Thanks for the advice
7
I'm with you 100%. No time to waste at all. From another senior dude.
7
Finding this video in a random feed of carpentry subscriptions only confirms to me the big man has plans for me. Jim, i thank you for your time. The message has come home loud and clear. Thank you.
7
People are responding to real experience and authenticity!! 🔥

Today I decided for myself that the purpose of life is creating. Whether it's gardening, painting, a chalet, or something you need creativity for to look back and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.

You know, given how precious our limited time is, one thing I started doing 6 months ago is logging all the activities I did everyday in a small notebook, even some of the more mundane stuff. Its incredible how much we forget what we did even a day ago.. doing this makes time feel slower, you have all kinds of memories you can recall now and it makes you appreciate just how much happens in your life..that feeling of time suddenly disappearing doesnt feel as prominent. Its not a perfect solution but it certainly helps. At the end of the month I go back and read everything I did in that month and read some random pages from a few months back to trigger memories I would have totally forgotten about. Its also a great utility to have for recalling certain events when needed. I highly recommend people give it a try.

I've just re-watched your viral video... Well done, over 1 million views in two weeks... That'll be hard to replicate 🙂
6
wise words of wisdom to the younger generation. We share a lot of similar lessons in life. I just survived cancer in my early 50s, and nothing makes you evaluate how you spend / spent your time more than coming face to face to the fact that you are not guaranteed tomorrow.
6
Life is never really appreciated until it is close to being taken away. Keep death close to you and see the beauty in the most ordinary of things or events.
