We are a colony still occupied by unfriendly forces

Mate , I can tell you what I did to solve the problem , I moved to Cambodia

Good on you for having the guts to say something. The country is broken. Matt Barrie has some great talks about it. I’m sick of working my ass off in the years I should be building wealth, and watching my entire pay cheque evaporate on rent, bills, and groceries. I would LOVE to see a peaceful, national protest where everyone just goes and sits on their driveway instead of going to work.

Working in Finance and reading the comments below, it is alarming that people cannot make the link between record immigration and the resulting inflation/demand being the crux of the issue, gives me little faith that people are informed or want to actually understand why they are feeling this way. Young people need to sort their priorities and vote accordingly, but they wont..

I was lucky enough to find a nice house in nice area in Adelaide on a 30 hour work week. Those days are long gone.

The issue is the immigration we are allowing is not high quality. We need more doctors, nurses, teachers and engineers- not uber drivers

Shop at Aldi, it makes an enormous difference and more importantly when it is available, support your local grocer, butcher, baker and pharmacist. You make a huge difference in their lives and also will see a remarkable difference in your weekly shop.

I lost trust an interest about 24 yrs ago

Hi Chris. Sydney is a top tier international city. Half of the population was not born in Australia. Just like London or Vancouver, it's becoming it's own economic entity separate from the rest of the country. If a million Australians leave Sydney, a million foreigners will move in to take their place.
44
People are too busy watching MAFS to care.
44
This is a cyop. Just wait now insurance companies will use this as a excuse not to insure homes.
44
An old adage; "There is nothing more permanent than a temporary government solution." Watch this space.

Property would not be as expensive if it was only for Australian citizens.....foreign individuals, companies, trusts, funds would not have access to the Australia property market. We are in competition with all of these structures. Prior to the 2000 olympics it was just locals competting for the property thus much cheaper! Try buying property in Thailand, Phillipines, Vietnam, China....they will tell to go get
43
There’s no immigrants struggling to live in this country only Australians, why is that?
43
There’s another problem with the housing crisis. Homeowners with grown-up sons or daughters can’t truly start enjoying their retirement. Their kids don’t leave home because they can’t afford a place of their own, and the parents can’t sell their house to fund their well-deserved retirement. It’s a mess—asset-rich but cash-poor. In my case, I’m delivering food just to “hold the fort,” and nobody cares!
43
i make 100k and i can't buy a house, the average price house near me is 900k now, went up around 40% in a couple of years. Get a trade and you'll make good money, but then you won't be able to find a cheap house to buy, then if you move away to the outer parts you won't have enough work.
43
Wanna see people struggle, watch people diving through the red meat at Cole’s or woolies, looking for the cheapest cuts they can find. It’s really sad.
42
I spend a lot of time in Thailand and Cambodia , Try buying land there, Not allowed for foreigners
42
It's being framed as the scapegoat for difficult financial realities were about learn about
42
at this point in time.. it looks like all the old diggers fought and died for nothing.. 😔 it looked that way before the lockdowns.
41
Yes, sold.
41
Australia broke a long time ago. This isn’t Australia anymore
41
Look we aren’t trying to be racist when we say we want to reduce immigration - it’s just we have to look after ourselves first.
41
My sister and I used to talk about how we had more left over money as university students back in the 90's, then what we do now! I dont remember ever going through this feeling of financial stress for so long before!
40
I’ve had a gut full.

Honestly as a 46 year old worker currently living in a tent, I don't even need construction for more housing from the government. I just want a large patch of land we can camp on without being asked to move on. If the government could put pods which are lockable on that land even better. It's so disheartening to finish your work day to find your tent and clothes trashed and almost empty... And or the almighty you can't sleep in this park move your house and things now. I don't camp anywhere that people can see me and i love my planet and don't leave rubbish anywhere. Where can I go that I won't get uprooted and robbed every 48 hours? Anyways, I loved what you had to say, Cheers 🍻

I tune in for each video. The anger inside of you is worth watching every time. Our country unfortunately like many others is feeling the effects of years of mismanagement. What a shame for a country that without doubt should be the richest nation on earth. We fucked it
40
And what is our pathetic government and pathetic ACCC doing? SFA
39
And we still keep giving away our Gas, coal and iron ore....
39
It's an absolute disgrace the state of this country at the moment. Feels like the only option now is to go overseas.
39
Government is too busy passing laws for saying 'naughty words'
39
1% = 1200 homes. That is 1200 homes not available to Australians. That number should be ZERO. Also, 1 million Immigrants in 18 months...HELLOOOO...doesn't take a genius to work this out.
39
Yep the country is falling before our very eyes yet I can pretty much guarantee you that nothing will happen to improve it. The average Australian doesn’t care. The “value” of their property has gone up and that’s all they care about.
39
Australia suffers from wage stagnation. All these 100 000 to 130 000 incomes sound great but when you take in all the costs of living you're underpaid. It's all relative.
39
Once again Chris, I agree with all your sentiments.. It's very frustrating and I can hear it in your voice.. There's just so much greed in Australia, promoted and supported by our Politicians...its a very sad state of affairs..
39
Category 1 Cyclone. Category 5 Media Sensationlism
38
Agree with everything you said Chris. I’m a lot older than you mate and man I’ve noticed how far this country has gone backwards. Keep up the good videos you talk a lot of sense. Cheers 🍻
38
Australia is over. Everyone’s broke, including me.
38
Recently, an Uber driver from the sub-continent told me all about his friends who are in the sham ghost colleges.
38
I'm on an age pension and you have no idea how many luxuries I've had to give up because they are now out of reach. I'm not talking about cars, homes or anything big, I'm talking (for example) about a packet of crumpets that now cost double the price.
38
Australia is just a halfway house for everyone else
38
It’s insane in Australia at the moment. If I didn’t have a very small mortgage I would most likely need another job too. I can’t save any money….. that’s almost impossible. I haven’t changed my spending habits at all and only spend on necessities but I am about $600-$700 a month worse off than I was a couple of years ago. Insurances have gone up, interest rates, electricity and gas, groceries…… it’s INSANE.
38
This is all by design. You will own nothing and be happy
37
Its not just the Chinese. My wife is Vietnamese....she has a couple of old university friends from Vietnam who have bought up Sydney properties WITH CASH for their children to live in while they study in Australia. These are not Australian citizens! theyre loaded in Vietnam and are entering the Aussie property market. Im sure many rich Vietnamese are doing the same.
37
When the government itself says the quiet part out loud that they have no intention of stopping property being unaffordable and wanting house prices to continue to go up we have no chance in hell. In Alaska the government gives the populace payments when they sell their mineral resources which equate to over $1000 per annum. Imagine our quality of life if they did that here instead of lining the pockets of shareholders selling overseas and buying it back. Ffs I have no words. Love the channel
37
Foreign investment and ownership in Aussie housing should never be permitted.
37
Left on a economy class ticket to SE Asia with nothing but a backpack in 2022, turned my life around. My mistake was waiting and getting stuck in Melbourne and fired over 'the thing' losing everything in the process. It is NOT going to get better in Australia, you will only get poorer, grind more hours just to survive, be unable to afford a quality life and essential services like universal Healthcare or public education be dissolved in front of your eyes. Things will be 10x worse raising a family. Leave the sinking ship and find a new country that actually values you before it is to late.
36
To illustrate how bad the devaluation of the Aussie dollar has been... i bought a gold coin for my daughter when she was born in 2013 for A$1300. Today that same coin is worth A$4600. In a decade the currency has been devalued by 65%.
36
As a 42 year old I have almost no hope of living in a home. I live in a warehouse with my business, I used to think I was homeless but having only 4 walls with no insulation or luxury's seems to be better than many others. Yes its total BS, I want to leave this country but theres no where really to go, every other english speaking countries are having the same problems. Not only that our dollar is so piss weak even if we could move good luck saving for enough. We really are trapped on this island with no where to go.
