  38. I have read several of Richard Dawkins books and listened to him for many years. He has always been a staunch exponent of free speech and evidenced fact over ideologies dogma, religious or otherwise. While it is very disappointing and surprising to find him silent in this way, I can only guess that at 82 years old he may not want the current heinous and increasingly violent attentions of activists to become focused on his loved ones and extended family. It is not just the brave proponents who get targeted, it is also those who they know and work with, a matter of 'guilt by association'. I can't especially blame him for wanting to avoid the horrendous tirades and tiresome litanies of amoral activist movements and self-entitled 'communities'. I appreciate everything that he has done and said over many decades and I hope that this episode in no way detracts from his invaluable contributions and seminal works in evolution and biology. Massive thanks to NCF for continuing to champion free speech and informed debate, it is greatly needed.

Frankly, the time in England is so dark and concerning taht I find I increasingly need to hear the voices of intelligent and decent folk like you all at the New Culture Forum. We must stand together. I am retired but send occasional cash contributions. You are more than worth it.
