As a child, i remember hearing my father and his friends talking about a DKW. They seemed to be superior at the time. A lot of good stuff was coming from Germany at that time.

@repairman22 man you've got to be a saint. I wouldn't have as much patience to deal with this comment section

The ford t was a mecanical masterpiece. It is just what you need nothing more !

Im still waiting for the methanol video!

More moving parts means more points of failure, just a common rule of thumb

Love the avalanche of technical information. Keep it coming!❤ A young channel like this will skyrocket in subscribers. 🎉

I think the bearing load is the same, because there isn't a point where more than one cylinder is firing at the time. In normal engine uper bearing takes most of the force, but in this application both would get fairly equal load. That beeing said, I don't think that this engine makes sense in real world motorcycle application.

I am wondering if - since it has many similarities with 4 stroke engines - it would be possible to use such a design and have it switch between 2-stroke and 4-stroke mode. The SkyActive-X engine has a limited rpm band where it can use compression ignition. Perhaps if you can switch between 4-stroke and 2-stroke mode, you can use the 4-stroke mode at low rpm and switch to 2-stroke mode to achieve higher output. This would allow you to use a smaller engine for similar output and hopefully high efficiency at the same time.

Starter went on my Beetle. I wrapped a belt around the generator pulley and started it by "pull start." Bad heater unless you had a gas heater.

I was literally imagining this concept recently, but I couldn’t understand how you could have valves without an exhaust stroke, fascinating

A solution looking for a problem to be solved.

It should be called an A12 engine.

This was interesting.

All i see is a toilet with a HOT/Cold water supply/

Love those little cars.

I’ve never seen one of these before. Very interesting design.

Excellent displays and explanations😊

You sir are a very talented graphic animator and a great story teller. I watch your videos with joy. I have a request: Could you explain the Brașov D127 Romanian Tractor engine? It has a very interesting background and I have it in my ARO 244 and it's certainly my favourite, but I can only dream of seeing it animated on film and explained all in a video. Or the F8C Daewoo Tico engine. I love your videos, thanks from Romania and I wish you well sir.

Great video Francis ! I'm and old auto mechanic. Have rebuilt 11 motorcycles that I owned. Starting with a Puch 250 that was 2 stroke 2 cylinder engine with a shared combustion chamber ! My Cushman scooter was a 1 cyl. 4 stroke . Hondas BSAs Kawasaki and BMWs followed. This engine exposed here has no crankshaft, or pistons. It cannot be classified as a "stroke" type engine. I believe it is a two cycle rotary engine. It has an intake and exhaust cycle that produce power in a cycle blending combustion part of the engine rotation. That could be referred to as a third cycle; making it a 3 cycle engine !! I think it would make for a great multi fuel electric hybrid engine, that drove a generator to alternatively power a BEV. Its light weight and high rpm. would provide great flexibility to powering a vehicle.

Very good engin, and I never had a radiator leak! 😁

Kübel doesnt mean cube. Its a german word for bucket

That was a great little engine but you are not mentioning a major weakness that has been kept secret...the oil cooler vented just ahead of the #3 cylinder which caused the #3 exhaust valve to overheat and drop its head into the cylinder doing a lot of damage. The 1966 Squareback sedan had the same defect which was corrected in 1968. I know because I rebuilt a 1965 Bug and a 1966 Squareback engine that had this failure.

This is my new favorite channel. Thanks man! 😊😊

This channel is very good..

The time for change the gases is verry short. Thats only possible for engines who run slow.

42% thermal efficiency is pointless in , honestly, there is no breaking barriers here. This can be called a 4 Stroke Planetary Engine.

Missed the engine from the Mercedes T 80 - a 44.5 liter land speed world record engine.

अति सुन्दर प्रस्तुति , तर्क पूर्वक व्यख्यान , आपको मेरे रूप में एक और सदस्य मिलगया ।

Damn that a nice video, well done bro I'll stay tuned for your next uploads

IT'S COOL, BUT IT'S NOT A 2JZ

I love my "Ente". A 2CV from 1985. Hardly no rust, working excellent, the whole year round. 😊

Very interesting but not at all practical.

Nice video...thanks

good animation

When trying to explain how a 2 stroke works, just send them over to this presentation. Very difficult to explain to people who have no idea how they work. Too much going on at the same time. 4 strokes are simpler to explain.

Kuebelwagen does not mean 'cube car.' It means 'bucket car' referring to the bucket seats.

I think i got unsubscribed, or i thought i already subscribed on the 1st video i saw.

I love this channel. Please keep uploading.

i loved this video thank you for explaining in such depth not any teachers in my school can explain so well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had all together seven 2CVs. Here in Germany we named it - Ente- Duck. It was fun to drive and the little motor was really running good.

Come on! Is this a prank? Obviously piston wouldn't return during intake stroke hahahaha So how they tested this on fiesta and some diesel truck hahaha This "invention" is clickbait nonsense, it has not real advantage. Even if it were functional, ball bearings and belts wear fast, engine would have horrible sound because of knocking sleeve to cylinder and vibrations would cause more stress to the engine. So it would make less horsepower for less durability, heavier engine and using more space that could be used for e. g. turbo or supercharger.
