  7. It's obsolete compared to things like the Archer. There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't automate artillery as much as possible. Less weight, fewer men, less fuel, less food. It's just better.

  15. If we want the best kit, we have to pay too dollar. During WW2, we tried using microwaves to detect airplanes. It didn't work great, but it did give us the microwave oven when it melted a chocolate bar.

  17. Bruh, you clearly don't know about the KORD. That is what a .50 should be. The M2 is hopelessly outdated, far too expensive for what it does, and not light by any means. The Russian HMGs and GMGs are just better in every possible way. The .50 doesn't work well; it's just that we haven't fought anyone that forced us to improved, so we just let is stay shitty. The M2A2 is an improvement on all the things that should've been solved in the beginning, but it still requires a tri-pod, still requires 3 men to move at any speed, can only be used on vehicles and in foxed positions. It's just not good a good weapon system. Yeah, the .50 bullet is absolutely wonderful, but if it's not where it's needed, it isn't useful. Again, look at the Russian KORD. It does the same job, but a single man can carry it [with difficulty], and that's no different from the M240. Again, the 240 is my favorite weapon. Definitely S-tier, but you look at things like the PKM which outrange it while still being similar weight and it's just no contest.

  24. Size isn't that big of a deal anymore; it's not much harder to hit this than a BMP-1 with modern guns. They also have a lot of men and a lot of manufacturing power. I think this will end up becoming the norm.

  27. This means one of two things for the US: we need to up our SPAAG game to Tunguska-levels of power OR everything needs a 5kw laser. Literally everything. Probably both because SPAAGS are heavy and lasers don't like rain. As it stands, we really don't have much that can deal with these. No, you're not going to shoot one of these with your rifle bc they're at least a few hundred meters above you; and no, MANPADS won't cut it because the Fim-92 has trouble hitting anything smaller than an SUV—remember, these were designed to destroy Mi-24; you know, the very big, very hot helicopter. However, once there are swarms of $300 drones with a block of C4, all games are off.
