  15. My kids' school shut down because someone was SUSPECTED of having covid. No evidence and the district freaked out. It is not about science anymore with a 99.6% survival rate and even better for young kids. It is about fearmongering and politics.

  16. The solution is simple. Defund taxpayer homeless services. This advice came from an interview by Colin Noir when he talked to a former director of a homeless non profit. It has to do with lack of accountability that some services act to enable bad behavior without consequences.

  17. I have a theory that we need to do a Big Mac Index ( real instead of nominal income) instead of simply looking at prices. By that standard, I suspect people in SF and NY might be poorer than smaller cities even with 6 figure salaries.

  22. One big issue is RV parks are disappearing on the west coast because the land got sold for condo and commercial development. RV parks charge rent and this keeps the homeless people out. Giving the space away for free attracts vagrants.

  36. Bad decision by Fannie and Freddie Mac. These prices are driven by West Coast cities. These prices do not reflect actual purchasing power. There was a survey that people are somehow buying homes with 5% down. At some point, it will be 2008 all over again.

  37. If anyone wants to know where stolen goods are fenced in the SF Bay Area, it is the flea markets, 6th and Mission after 5pm, and the central part of Mission St (many stolen phone parts). The people know about this, but the cops and DA do squat.

  38. The only way this woke nonsense will stop is for a reckoning to occur at the government level for Portland. Bondholders need to stop financing their deficits as a vote of no confidence to the city's leadership and their ability to pay their bills. Same goes for Seattle, San Francisco, Minneapolis and other cities that choose to defund police, support rioters and refuse to run their cities properly.
