  3. They should still be effective when moving forward. Itā€™s just that they will need more modern tanks and most definitely air support. More of the large-scale drones will need to be implemented at once as well as tanks from other European nations. It looks like the UK might be doing this as well now. Just heard news that the UK is considering sending over modern tanks rather than Soviet ones. Hope so. Biggest thing though is still MiG-29s and others.

Yeah, not to mention the fact that apparently many people, sadly in the RAF have actually quit after training for several years to become pilots, yet, somehow, even after many years of training, some have still yet to ever actually fly an actual fighter jet. There are just so few available and maintenance is such a constant issue right now with the Tornadoes due to cuts when they shouldnā€™t be, that they just arenā€™t able to get out of basic simulators and being put on rotation ā€˜again and againā€™. As a result, many RAF pilots have actually quit when it was possible and gone straight into the private aviation sector. It sucks, but itā€™s for many the only option to ever get any satisfaction and finally get in the air. Not to mention the fact that being an airline pilot actually pays a lot more. IT SHOULD BE THE REVERSE. THISā€™S SOOOO SCREWED UP. So the Royal Air Force is unfortunately screwing itself over here in more ways than one. Both thanks to bad management, bad policies and terrible government cuts driving all of it.

  7. Scott Gallant Exactly.We made that mistake before in postwar Britain. Why canā€™t we see it again now. I mean, certain these houses are better than the ugly bungalows and council flats that were made back then, but these buildings here are still uniform and soulless.

But this will only work if they really do get absolutely everybody in to do this. Absolutely no room for error and get absolutely all of them by pinning them into a corner so there can be no counter attack.

  12. I feel the same. I feel like a reck but I'm also at the same time surprised how hardened I have become from seeing it all. I've kept thinking, throughout this now, whether I should also sign up to fight with them, but I am rocked by indecision at every stage. I want to help, and if that means fighting then so be it...but I also don't want to die, and that side keeps winning. How selfish is that.

  13. Hereā€™s one solution to your corrupt politicians. Make sure they only have the same salary as your average Australian citizen. That will certainly spur them to try and make a difference in the country when they are effectively in the same boat as everyone else. Any pay rises have to be authorised by the public themselves. Not just voted on within the Parliament.

  17. We are all being such shame to ourselves and destroying the trust Ukraine had in the rest of us. Itā€™s still confusing me why we still canā€™t go in as individual nations and simply, wink wink, work together in Ukraine like NATO in order to fight against the Russians. We do it all the time it seems outside of NATO so I donā€™t see why we canā€™t do it this time when itā€™s actually bloody well needed. My heart really goes out to everyone in Ukraine for the civilians to everyone taking up arms to fight. I so wish we were allowed so we could actually go over there and join the fight.   21. Apart from taking less walks, for me I havenā€™t really noticed much of a difference in my daily routine in how I live my life right now as a uni student. All Iā€™ve seen so far are benefits to the local area. Fresher air, clearer skies and far far more birdsong.

It is utterly humiliating.We keep talking about these big deliveries of ammunition and it is well appreciated obviously, but we keep forgetting that all of the stuff gets used up very quick on the scale of a country bigger than ā€˜Texasā€™. We need to be sending regular shipments every two days or so. Not one of big deliveries every couple of weeks otherwise it just takes longer to re-establish the supply chains again for those particular pieces of equipment. If they actually at least had the modern tanks that we take for granted they probably would actually be able to hold the Russians back even more. Then at least they could travel out a bit and steal some of the Russian ammunition.

  26. Ā @alexcraig8543Ā  yeah I have no doubt that the Ukrainians will try and use as many drones as possible to try and make sure that any stalemate that happens will be not able to last long. Getting bogged down will only make it worse so the Ukrainians have to use every dynamic resource they can get. Thankfully they are not dealing with a very determined adversary right now so hopefully it wonā€™t last too long.

At least there is one good thing from these new places, and that is that they are not putting up hundreds of bloody streetlamps to shine through peoples windows while they are trying to sleep at night. Plus confusing a lot of the more nocturnal animals that are more common in the rural areas. They used to do that a lot in the old council estates and now it seems they are at least learning from that.

  29. Ā @corkozaĀ  Well I think itā€™s safe to say that once the war is up, plenty of games will be desperately wanting to emulate the efforts of the Ukrainian forces. The only problem is it would be hard to do this without getting in massive political trouble or being viewed as insensitive to the lives recently lost. Plenty of people including me would probably want to check it out, but unfortunately it will take a while for everyone to grieve first.

  32. Plus getting the US jeeps and UK armoured vehicles to their positions would be good. I know the US has apparently already started sending the jeeps over but I havenā€™t seen any confirmation yet about the UK vehicles having made it to crane yet. They are very critical as they are heavily armoured, efficient and protective against mines.

It would be one against a dozen. Most likely the war would be over very quickly and probably wouldnā€™t even count as a world war. By your statement it would then be logical to call the Napoleonic war a world war, in which case we are in world War something something something.

I have already received my vaccine even though Iā€™m 25 for specific reasons but really look forward to my other Uni friends being able to eventually get their vaccines as well so we can all be safe from this virus eventually. It feels akin to the Berlin Wall coming down or the end of WWII itself. I can only imagine how it will truly be when the war is over with Ukraine having reclaimed all of its territory. One was a necessary change, the other one is just nitpicking at every day life and causing misery for the majority, hurting history and damaging relations causing splits even more within communities than bringing them together. Thereā€™s a difference between talking to people and trying to force your opinions down the throats. This is why BLM protesters/rioters are not going to win everything they want long-term by comparison to what was first fort for decades ago.
