Why do you think she hasn't found an attorney? There's a lot she isn't telling here. Come on.
4
It's so odd that the family hadn't yet done a DNA test until recently, considering they had been looking for her for so long. Good thing the father finally did. They lost out on so many years, and will hopefully have years together. Melissa seems very sweet and her father and brother seem so happy to have her back. Wishing them all the best.
4
I mean no disrespect, but everything the former agent said was completely common sense.
4
Why is everyone assuming this girl is being honest? There is A LOT more to the story than we're hearing.
4
@mtaylor7307 So true.
4
To be fair, there is no real god.
4
The bottom line - you don't know what happened. You're painting a picture that is probably totally inaccurate. We don't know how it unfolded and shouldn't speculate.
4
I'm sorry, but what blessings could they possibly get after their children were murdered in cold blood?
4
Alec put on a very thick mask for many, many years. This gentleman just didn't catch onto the real Alec until today. It's really unfortunate that he wasn't able to read what he wrote in court because it's healthy to release those thoughts and emotions. Too bad someone else didn't read it for him. His sentiments were loud and clear, though. He spoke from his heart, and shared the betrayal that he and others experienced. I'm so sickened by Alec's predatory actions. He took advantage of so many good people. My heart goes out to all who were his prey.
4
@MsFunnybags Well, there were plenty of other vacationers who utilized the on-site childcare facilities, so that really doesn't matter. No matter if it's safe or not, it is straight up negligent to leave children alone. They also left the door unlocked.
4
Always?? I find it so odd when people say such things because obviously, these cases just stick out. The vast majority of the cases where officers did their job well are forgetful. Look at all of the thousands and thousands of solved cases that end in conviction.
4
@KS-hi8vi But then the sad said she did mention having a stalker, so that part isn't clear.
4
@Mayrows I'm not sure why you felt the need to be disrespectful. I'm simply stating facts. I have nothing good to say about JP, but that doesn't mean he was directly involved in her suicide.
4
I don't mean this to be disrespectful in any way, but all of what she said was common sense.
4
@valleygirl2530 Actually, police were as clear as they could be with the little they could share. People just made a mountain out of a molehill. No doubt people have the right to form opinions, but jumping to conclusions is a very different story. The investigative team was harshly criticized for no factual reasons, innocent people were publicly convicted for the crime, and all kinds of assumptions/rumors were being spread...none of which is helpful. Yes, there is freedom of speech, but there are also morals that we can live by.
4
@thriftytxmom Oh gosh, I misspoke! I meant, they left the door unlocked. I'm half asleep. Lol. I'll edit my comment above.
4
Because you weren't there and don't know exactly what happened. You are painting a picture that may be totally inaccurate. Just wait and see, and then come back to review your comment. There is a logical explanation, but we don't NEED to now that right now.
4
I'm sorry to say this, but let's see how that works out. I hope they are all safe, too.

@kimmcpadden5371 I'm 54 and have never seen that in my entire life. I can't imagine leaving kids alone, especially when there area child care services available right there.
3
itslalaGomez I'm not sure this is accurate, but evidently, sniffer dogs alerted to a dead body having been in their rental car.
3
@rossblack9559 There's actually video footage of them going to pick up the twins from day care after having gone to play tennis. It was on the news.
3
No one listened. There were at least 6 people publicly convicted of this horrific crime - the ex, the neighbor, hoodie guy, the roommates... Disgusting.
3
@karl7361 I'm always curious to know why things like that happened. I would think there was a reason only that small clip was shared. Maybe we'll find out during the trial?
3
@alayadeluce So true. It sounds like she fell for him, but then he trapped her and kept her from leaving. Scary! Guiding kids to be cautious and follow their gut is a wise thing to do.
3
@Drew2Fast Right? That was a shocker and is why I was thinking she went willingly.
3
That's very likely.
3
@kathleenvance8792 Their income has nothing to do with anything. Their lack of human decency and empathy is the problem here.
3
Sadly, it's way too late for that. 💔😥💔
3
@lorimc67 He was identified yesterday from what I've seen on several channels. Evidently, he is cooperating with police. If the info I've seen is accurate, he is a neighbor and friend who wanted to make sure the girls got home safely. I'm sure we'll learn more in time.
3
@charliepiland3285 That was a general "you" being used. The person is pointing out that it's not easy peasy like it appears on TV shows. Investigations are complex, especially ones of this magnitude. They have to get all of their ducks in a row in order to gain a guilty verdict in court. Now double that work when 2 suspects are involved. Quadruple the work when there are 4 victims.
3
Most likely in cement that was poured that night according to neighbors.
3
Nah. That's actually not true. Some people prefer power and control, or just have pent up anger...both almost always due to childhood trauma.
3
@bradeedwards2505 Yeah, I hear you. Some people still choose not to talk though. Hopefully all of those tactics will be attempted successfully. I can't imagine what would make Ruben talk considering he's 80 years old and would most likely cover for his son, but Paul has a lot to lose. I'm very well aware of the difficulty in getting a conviction in missing person cases as I follow a lot of true crime. I really hope there's enough evidence to convict them. As far as the Summer Wells case goes, we have no idea what happened. Candus and Don still proclaim their innocence. I just hope the truth comes out sooner than later. Those kids didn't have much of a chance growing up in that home. 💔
3
From what I've heard, the parents spoiled her and did not hold her accountable when she was in the wrong. Of course that is a rumor, but could very well be true. 99.999% of the time, these issues stem from upbringing.
3
@Makeuploveculture It was in one of the documentaries, but it's been so long, I don't remember which one it was. It was another vacationer who had picked up his daughter from the babysitting service.
3
@lokeyGee87 Yeah, but it's connected to the idea of initiation. I'm not sure what he was supposedly being initiated into. Here's the actual definition: Involves or includes humiliation, ridicule, willful destruction/ removal of public or private property of an individual or group for the purpose of initiation or admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in an organization.
3
Why is there an assumption that they lost their jobs due to being related to BK? That's totally against the law.
3
I'm wondering if that's the distance to where John kept his boat.
3
That's not exactly accurate. She admitted to hitting him and grabbing the steering wheel, which was the cause of the van swerving. The witness had seen HER hit him prior to that. That's what police had to go on. Injuries weren't visible on her face, and she was crying really hard, which could have appeared as the reason for any potential swelling. Police were very patient and calm with her. They did not say anything to indicate that they didn't believe her. She did not mention him abusing her and he did not want her arrested. When we see a murder like this, it's common to be outraged and want to place the blame somewhere. Hindsight is 20/20, and it's easy to say what should have happened. They only had so much information to go on. Making it something that it wasn't isn't helpful to others who might be in a similar situation.
3
Covering up? How?? What would they have to gain from that anyway? She literally called 911 and told them exactly what she was going to do.
3
What an odd thing to say. Justice does not always catch up. There are MANY cases where killers get away with murder.
3
They show a lack of basic compassion.
3
@hughjorgen108 I don't understand the first sentence. Where did I make excuses for abusive behavior? Feel free to quote anything I said.
3
@Whatnok Exactly. I'm not sure if they're worse as they get older. I think it would be the opposite. Either way, he manipulated her and treated her with absolute cruelty. My heart breaks for the children who are now left without their mother... and will soon be without their father.
3
@wendelee0968 That's not true at all. Depression affects anyone and everyone despite their religion. One of the most sincere Christians I've ever known ended up committing suicide. I don't believe in God anymore but would never tell someone struggling with depression that they aren't a true Christian. That shows a lack of understanding and empathy. Did you listen to the 911 call? It's very clear.
3
@karinaz8756 So, how do you explain the footage of her buying the gun, parking at the park, exiting her car, calling 911 from that exact location, describing exactly what she was going to do and where her body could be found? Also, do you dismiss the many times she mentioned suicide prior to that incident?
3
@amber-lily5527 Strange, right? It's not like I was sticking up for him. I really appreciate your reply!!! 💜
3
@elizabethlacky6068 That's accurate. Prayer has actually been proven to not make a difference. We all hope they're safe.
3
Huh? There has been absolutely no justice in this case. The innocent victim paid the ultimate price for the killer's disgusting behavior.
3
@Alastor-dp2dk I've got to catch my breath.
