@pollyparrot8759 fair enough. I'm sure your posts are lucid. In which case I would certainly answer you. Thanks for sharing.
2
Yes. That was also suggested by Gordon Brown.
2
@bush_wookie_9606 he obviously heard about the significance of gold in a fiat economy before you and many inept journalists did. What do you think it cost us?
2
@starwood213 Not "de-banked," offered an alternative account
2
@lectorintellegat "De-banked?" Offered an alternative account!
2
So what? Was Hunt? Even ministers don't have to be professionally qualified.
2
By offering him an alternative bank account. How would that work?
2
Funny how the political content has appeared on this channel after a new government took power. Did I miss it under the Tories? Was this an issue then?
2
The old rules of giving way to pedestrians already in the road were sensible, and I clearly understood and respected them as a motorist. On such a change of rules, the government should surely educate, with TV adverts or short programmes on such changes. Otherwise we may get serious injuries or even fatalities.
2
The law is, indeed, ridiculous. Yet unfortunately there is a precedent with poor misunderstood Tommy. Wherever he goes, rent-a-thug follows.
2
@blankroomsoup666 I'm not defending the law. You asked the difference. Operating a phone rather than a built in radio with steering wheel controls creates more distraction - unless using voice controls or hands free operation. Personally I stop to make or take a call unless using hands free. Your choice.
2
@blankroomsoup666 I agree that the last part is stupid. Not convinced that fiddling with a phone is as easy as adjusting a built in sound system though. The acid test is whether you can drive with due care and attention I guess
2
Not subsidised; we own shares, which we could sell.
2
@Jack-fs2im depends what you mean by "right" and how you define society. Perhaps considering the effects of Neoliberalism, which she imposed, will add insight.
2
As ever, customers will pay; shareholders won't. What's the point of privatisation when the market is clearly broken?
2
@imconfused1237 and the millions of pages are where? How many checks on public health? Who funded the research? I'm not saying 5g is good or bad. Just questioning the amount of verification and transparency. Moreover, who put this eyesore on a pavement? Aesthetics are important, as are obstructions.
2
@CGKBettz3 Or greed to reduce the number of staff for more profit.
2
@fredsmith5473 I understand the history. Your point being?
2
Not all. Checked your facts.
2
Wow! That car wash was impressive. Beats our hose pipe and even our power wash.
2
It funny that you never claimed two-tier policing when stop and search was used disproportionately for any non-whites. Where is the evidence of this right wing excuse? Vandals are not victims. They are damaging property and threatening life.
1
@tayclift5322 Farage is treated with kid gloves and gets media attention when he farts through his mouth. How is he a victim ?
1
It's an inevitable fact that Labour policitians are held to a higher standard. (Where is the furore about Jenrick's latest £75k bung?) Starmer worked within the rules but the rules should be changed FOR ALL politicians.
1
Means testing the winter fuel allowance will not fill any black hole. It will chuck in a spade full of rubble: 1.5 billion in a hole of 22 billion. Taxing wealth would easily fill it. Listen to the patriotic millionaires and the Mile End Road economists. Starmer and Reeves have messed up...crass stupidity.
1
Totally impractical in our local area - an old Lancashire mill town with many narrow streets and virtually no common parking areas. Even newer estates lack both adequate road with and visitor parking facilities, allowing developers to cram more housing for profit. Put more onus and local authorities to plan for adequate parking, instead of penalising the motorist. To me the law should stop cars totally blocking the pavement: allowing enough room for a pram or a wheelchair. Totally banning pavement parking will simply cause traffic chaos in many areas. Once again, Planet Westminster is divorced from reality. Yet another government consultation that was poorly published and dependent on a Web search, when not all users have internet access or find out in time. Such a consultation is simply a sham.
1
@FFVoyager are you volunteering as a parking attendant?
1
Christopher Moore then the simple solution is to allow enough room for prams or wheelchairs. Simple enough to legislate. Parking on a 2ft wide pavement should be banned
1
Christopher Moore then don't change the law. Just enforce it.
1
Of course they don't want to encourage solar. We become self-sufficient and the suppliers can't change us for what we use from solar. Who funds the Tories? Follow the money.
1
@jordanomasuin8023 OMG! You've done the barrister's job for him. If only life were so simplistic.
1
Rules are made for the obedience of fools and the guidance of the wise. (Unfortunately this doesn't work as a defence if caught speeding.)
1
We have a TV licence only because of abject Tory government austerity. After they cut the BBC subsidy for over 75s we had to buy one. Now we have the double whammy of them freezing the triple lock on some of the lowest state pensions in Europe. Seeing Buffoon on TV hardly adds to our enjoyment and generally pisses me off. Happy days.
1
Apparently the police were formed to protect property... mainly of the rich. Back to reality.
1
Where are these devices safe? What protection must the rider use (helmet, high Vis etc?) What regulations under the highway code? What qualifications to ride? Yet again technology is ahead of our infrastructure and we fail to manage it. People are using them on pavements and roads and currently they are dangerous.
1
Writing for a Tory sh1t-rag causing reputational damage. Pure irony. After all, it was a Tory PM who failed to adequately implement Leveson.
1
@lmaoroflcopter sources and references?
1
It's obvious. The Mercedes always has right of way. Lol. Just one more d1ck on the road. No shortage of them. Perhaps an introduction to the concept of defensive driving would help.
1
The Met has finally awoken after the threat of legal action from the Good Law Project.
1
Respect for what you do, BBB. interesting and informative.
1
@catherinegrimes2308 How did he get it wrong on the Farage Riots? Accepting gifts (albeit significantly less than Jenrick) is stupid. The winter fuel allowance and a lack of transformative economics is pathetic.
1
@djsylambert No. Whatever gave you that idea?
1
@lectorintellegat I didn't say that the bank acted correctly. Whether he should have been offered an alternative account is between them and him. Foghorn's vanity was hurt but to claim he was de-banked or forced to leave the country is the Orwellian part. Banks operate secretly and there is a banking ombudsman. Many homeless people can't even get a basic bank account. Now that's "Orwellian' and concerns me more than an attention seeking wazzock being inconvenienced.
1
@lectorintellegat No, they did not. But the attention seeking wazzock wasn't "de-banked" or forced to move abroad, as some claim. He was offered an alternative account. We have righteous indignation for Foghorn from the media, while people are going hungry and homeless people can't even get a basic bank account. Anger created by deflection.
1
Can't pay for petrol; can't fasten a seatbelt. Who is this wazzock running the country?
1
@gallyman100 That's probably because the richest don't pay their fair share, while the economy is generally mismanaged.
1
@gallyman100 so, mismanagement rather than corruption
1
I agree that the method is wrong, perhaps should be based on income as in the US. But corrupt?
1
@meatabolichealingUK The wrong method? possibly. Mismanaged? Often. But corrupt???
1
@johnchristopher3544 Evidence, please!!!
