For Germany, it was Hitler. For Norway, it was Quisling. For America, when it comes to traitors, Benedict Arnold is about to move down to second place.

AKA "That's a nice country you got. Be a shame if anything were to happen to it."

I only came here to read the comments of the nutters who say this is a hoax, that it's being overhyped, that it's a conspiracy, whatever. Those are the kind that went down with the Titanic, secure in the belief that it was unsinkable. Total dummies who don't belong breeding or voting.
68
@DefyVelociity Good thing you weren't in charge in WW2, otherwise we'd all be speaking German now.
37
Who'll ever forget when Moscow Mitch McConnell said that 8 months before an election was way too soon to confirm a SCOTUS judge ..
28
The irony of Trumpanzees saying that it's not the courts that decide, it's the voters. Move along then.

There's only 3 ways to get individual people back to work. 1) Everyone wears hazmat suits all the time. 2) Develop a vaccine that works, give it to everyone. 3) Roll out a widespread antibody test, test everyone, and those who have antibodies can go back to work.
15
Some bad analogies. It's like this: Newbie skydiver: "Hey, I've slowed down a bit. Can I take off this stupid parachute now? It's chafing." Newbie navy recruit: "Hey, the sub is 500 feet down and my clothes are still dry. Is it OK to open the hatch?"
13
John Galt He's too well guarded to suffer what he should for letting so many Americans die of covid. But if you're whining about your governor doing her job to protect the people of your state .. go cry on your MyPillow.
12
How ironic, the same people who say Americans don't need testing before returning to work won't let anyone work around them unless they get tested daily.
10
Trump: The virus makes prison too dangerous for my criminal friend Roger Stone, it's an indoor group setting. also Trump: Your kids need to go back to school, and I don't care if it's dangerous for them or you. My campaign depends on it!
10
This is even more of an emergency than all the wingnuts who'll chime in and claim that because they don't personally see their own hospital overwhelmed, there's not covid outbreak at all. Sigh. Like the old "There's no such thing as global warming because it's snowing where I am right now."
9
@cheesegyoza So, you want people like that to be better-equipped to commit acts of terror? shudder
9
Someday people will come to realize the folly of electing someone who uses the "14 characteristics of fascism" meme as a to-do list.
8
Republicans were barking at the moon when Obama wore a tan suit, yet they'll be silent about this.
8
If it's so safe to go back to work, then why hasn't Trump scheduled his rallies to start again? He canceled them in March (due to the virus) but has not scheduled any new ones. It's as if he's afraid of some potentially deadly virus. Hair Fuhrer needs to put his money where his mouth is.
8
Glad you recovered. I had a friend who endured 14 weeks of symptoms. She has permanent lung damage now.
7
My big complaint now is that back in January when disease authorities in the US realized what was happening, none of that was communicated to the governors, who at least would have done something. Unlike Trump, they don't spend 100% of their time lying, deflecting, shifting blame, bragging about their ratings, firing their critics, lashing out at everyone, etc.
7
You're right, the media doesn't pick the president, the people do. The popular vote is 78,753,377 Biden to 73,119,421 Trump and the EC is 306 Biden to 232 Trump. Do you remember in 2016 when the Republicans called 306 EC votes "a landslide" and "a mandate"? Those kinds of votes still are landslides and mandates, and the mandate of the people is to get rid of Trump. Sorry these facts hurt your feelings.

Coming soon: Nice Christian bookshops shouldn't have to allow Jews in, right? Shortly after: Nice Alabama restaurants don't have to let Blacks in, do they?
5

No country was designed for an idiot leader like Trump.
5
@jackburton6133 Err, no, I live in the world of data and facts - even when they are unwelcome facts. It's you and folks like you who desperately want to believe that things aren't bad. Maybe someday you will see why China and other countries had to react as harshly and thoroughly as they did.
4
It would seem that he didn't appreciate the gravity of the situation.
4
Georgia already counted the votes three times and certified the results. Trump lost Georgia by 11,779 votes .. and here he is, almost 2 months later, asking for enough fake votes to put him 1 over the Biden count.
4
If Trump wants to reopen the country, he should take the lead and show us by resuming his rallies and shaking hands with his fans and meeting regular Americans. He canceled all those things. It's as if he knows there's a potentially deadly disease circulating.
4
@kwbradysanch Helps if you think of it as wilder extremes of all kinds. Phoenix AZ had a record number of days over 100F this summer. Large parts of Oregon have been in a drought for years now. All part of the same thing. Call it "climate weirding" if that helps.
3
@airbud3 No, we know how Ukraine is fighting off an invading army. Fixed your nonsense for you. Oh, and obviously you haven't considered what the US might want from Ukraine sometime in the future after the dust of the current conflict settles. By then they'll be in NATO, and wouldn't it be helpful if Ukraine could host a US air base and lease it to us for 50 years?
3
That means rural second homes will be a lot cheaper by next summer.
3
Just consider the donations scam to be like a sort of voluntary tax. Households that don't pay it will fare better than those that do. Economic Darwinism.
3
Poor Putin. How he must miss having his little Quisling keeping a chair warm in the white house.
3
Pretty sure their oath of service didn't include a disclaimer to engage in domestic terrorism as long as it lined up with FOXed Noise propaganda.
3
Sounds like Texas is well on its way to being a failed state. They tried that no-regulations hardly-any-government thing in Somalia already anyway.
2
@scottebear Go ahead and prove this thing is a hoax by going back to your normal life. When you start developing a dry cough and persistent headache, just remember that you made the country a little smarter by removing yourself from the gene pool.
2
It's only 15 cases, he said. It'll go away like a miracle, he said. It's just like the flu, they said. The high price of denial :(
2
@dbsti3006 You're finding something positive to say about the 219K+ American deaths from covid? Even for a Trumper, that's pretty sick and twisted thinking. Go seek mental help please.
2

2
@rich2583 Put your money where your mouth is - go lick a bunch of convenience store door handles. Then get back to us in 2 weeks about how serious the virus is. Or just watch the news about how in NYC they're finding hundreds of dead people every day in their homes. SMH.
2
@rich2583 Thanks, I needed the laugh. I'm a data analyst. Taking the safety labels off everything and letting nature sort itself out is just another way of adding chlorine to the gene pool.
2
One thing's for sure about the people running the federal government - they couldn't find snow in the wintertime. Heckuva job Brownie types.
2
What a cute protest. I should watch more of them, albeit from a safe distance. They'll probably keep it up for weeks.
2
At this point, no one would trust Trump to handle a glow stick without supervision. Somebody give Trumpty Dumpty a shove.
2
Best comment! :)
2
@anthonycall5566 Strange, but these people don't seem to be complaining about things that cost a lot more, like Trump's tax cuts for the wealthiest. Selective amnesia :(
2
@steelzmb4262 Are you Trumpanzees still hating on Ukraine because they didn't go along with Donnie's scheme to get them to make up dirt on the Bidens?
2
@epic103 No, it just means I don't suck down the stew of lies that is FOXed Noise and OANN, which is all you like. That's appropriate. Mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed nothing but manure, also develop a taste for manure. Enjoy your ignorance. Or, better yet, keep running with it so the rest of us get to laugh at your ignorance. Unless you have some compelling argument for how your ignorance somehow gets you and your kids ahead in life. Personally I don't care for it. My kids won't hire your kids.
2
@epic103 Haw haw haw. I mention facts and all it can do it get your panties in a knot. So thank you for the feedback. I will keep doing it. My work schedule is easy these days so I have all the time in the world to fact-bat you morons clear into next week.
2
Trump was pretty useful for Putin when it came to providing cover for Russia invading the Crimean peninsula. At the 44th G7 summit, Trump said out loud that Crimea is Russian because everyone there speaks Russian - not all do, but that distinction, like so many others, was as far above his head as the m-o-o-n above a barnyard animal.
2
@richardalderman1324 I only came here to read the comments of the nutters who say this is a hoax, that it's being overhyped, that it's a conspiracy, whatever. Those are the kind that went down with the Titanic, secure in the belief that it was unsinkable. Total dummies who don't belong breeding or voting. Subtracting themselves from the population lines up nicely with their disbelief of what's happening.
2
To be fair, people wouldn't be at his rallies unless they were the sort who prefer hearing his weird sing-song lies over the actual truth.
2
Solicitation to commit election fraud, and it's all on tape. Republicans took to Trump like ducks to the sticky tar sands of La Brea. The air accordion player reached deep into their shallow souls and found something easy to manipulate. He makes Sauron seem reasonable by comparison.
