  6. I'm old enough to remember life in the UK outside the EEC/EU and I voted Leave because I have seen the British working class become progressively worse off. Before the UK joined the EU a single unskilled wage could keep a family and buy a home. Today both parents have to work, need Tax Credits and cant buy a home.

  12. If each UK national living in Spain spends 250 euros per week - that's 13 million euros each year for every thousand UK nationals. This money is UK pounds injected into the Spanish economy. It creates many jobs for Spanish people. UK pensioners do not take jobs from locals and the UK government pays for healthcare provided by Spain. Countries like Poland have not been paying the healthcare costs of their nationals in the UK.

Jeremy Corbyn is a decent guy - I might not want everything on his wish-list, but I take his word over Sky, BBC, C4, Tories, Blairites etc. This is the elite trying to destroy a person for almost distributing wealth more fairly. These days most Labour Party MPs are really protecting the interests of the superrich - how else would Tony Blair be worth £50 million...

  21. When more people want housing than there is available housing then the cost of housing (rent / property value) goes up. When more people want employment than there are available jobs the cost of employing someone (wages / working conditions) goes down..........So basically mass immigration is only good for employers paying low wages and property owners charging high rents.

  25. Have you read the Good Friday Agreement? The reason I ask is I have read it and it doesn't mention 'customs' 'trade' 'immigration' 'visas' or anything about 'border control'. In fact, the Good Friday Agreement acknowledges Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and is a separate country to Republic Of Ireland.

The Parliamentary Labour Party is being set up as an obstacle to Corbyn's Leadership, but Corbyn has 60% members' support so even a head to head challenge is almost bound to fail (if even get off the ground). Corbyn will form a consensus from membership on revised fundamental policies and each Labour MP will have to ask themselves if they're in the right political party....There's no shortage of prospective candidates from the 60% of membership.

So in the 83 election 13 million voted Tory for privatisation of publicly owned services and 16 million voted for Labour and SDP whose manifestos were against the privatisations.

  35. Anthony Meursault It's more simple than that - it's about the plebs holding a stake in society. The Labour movement changed the way society worked. Ownership is control - if the people have no ownership they have no say. The ruling class has hoodwinked the people into giving up hard gained say. The last 30 years has all been about taking assets and control from the people and handing it to a mega rich minority. This mega rich minority doesn't want the majority to find out and become organised. They fear the people knowing the truth about control - it's that simple.

  47. Yes, there was 'skinny and starving' people in the past, as a direct consequence of the 'free market economy' you seem to think will solve these problems. Before Labour was in a position to do anything (1945) five evils were identified: want, disease, ignorance, squalor and idleness. Labour policies were for full employment, welfare state, national health service, education and decent housing. That's why the working class are no longer 'skinny and starving' and have better health, housing, and education. Rich people do not tend to give money to others (which is how they get rich), but they always need to exploit others to get that money. Today's problems in NHS funding, high unemployment, underemployment levels, wage compression, unaffordable rents/mortgages, tuition fees, cuts in welfare, zero hours contracts.... These things should be making you think we're going back to 'skinny and starving' people.

  48. The best reason for leaving the EU is that the country can unite around being an independent, self governing nation. The vote showed that half the country were not content and the other half will not amount to the same discontent and division... There was never any real desire on the part of the nation to be part of the EU it was always an imposition by 'we know best' politicians.

  50. Looking at the way Channel Four and Crick handled the Plebgate story and bent over backwards to portray the obvious culprit as a wronged man, in a blatant attempt to assist the Tories. I shouldn't be surprised if this was a put-up-job - so the story becomes 'members of the Conservative Party supported and voted for the Labour leader most convenient to them ha ha'. Even so, the truth is palpable. The Tories are obviously rattled by this surge in support for a politician at a time when the public opinion of politicians is at an all time low. The Tories won't understand what's going on though, because they're incapable of perceiving the concept of fairness - so Cameron and Osborne will probably grow beards.
