Bernie needs to drive home how in the US our tax money is minimized so it can go to private oligarchies associated with different industries ... none of whom have served the people well for the last 50 years since they started taking over and abusing the system. They are basically using the population as slaves, just as the fascists did in Germany, only slightly nicer and more in the background ... until Trump at least. The public sector is disinvested in, just a form of class genocide, which is unfamiliar to the people of the planet because we really have not every had that seen before. Most genocides were against distinct minorities. Now in the US unless we break the current system into nothing we will be creating millions of sick, depressed, ignorant and unhappy people and a future of incredible costs ... that the establishment basically urges us to PUT BEHIND US, like we have all of our genocides. We need to take back the public space and make the country about the people, PERIOD. No capitulation or compromise on that. The people who have stolen our country blind will need to come back down to the ground and forfeit a lot of money they have stolen from the people, and from the commons. That means back to 90% taxation rates on the richest people so that they are unable to form these political and financial dynasties. That needs to end.

The worker condition and treatment criticisms against Amazon are valid, and I am glad that at least the EU does something about this.

Bezos net worth is computed by taking what they think is the number of shares of Amazon that he owns and multiplying it by the current price of Amazon stock. That is a false number that he could never get in reality because as soon as he started to sell some of the stock its price would fall because he would overload the market. I am a great fan and supporter of Bernie Sanders, but making these kinds of videos does not teach people anything or really even tell the truth. It is a kind of demagogue statement that panders to the stupid, and Bernie should not be pandering to the stupid. There are plenty of smart people that understand and agree with what Bernie wants to do. That said, it is desirable that every company pay its employees a living wage, and if they cannot afford to do that, then corporate profits should be taxes to give workers any tax break they need to support a living wage. People are more important than money, money is not speech, corporations are not people.

  19. Jpkrao I can't defend the "shit" remark, but Bernie has a lot of experience. There is a reason we went from a mayor, to a Congressman to a Senator. That is more experience than virtually anyone in the race with the possible exception of Jindal who's a governor. The answer is that Bernie will be as good of a President as he can bring out in the people. He is right, the people have to support him and his ideas, and a lot of us do. The US is far enough ahead in military and financial dealings, it is time for the US to catch up to the developed world in social justice, economic justice, education, health care. I think that is where Bernie's strong points are. The thing that is good is that Bernie can appeal to the TEA-Party folks too. There is a kind of trade ... trade out the extreme left wing nuts for the more moderate TEA-Party people and the alienated Republicans and I think Bernie walks away with it ... if he can get past Hillary, and also there is not a big mess-up that scared people from voting for him.

  24. It is a huge problem with a huge portion of our economy is based on selling people food that is toxic to their health and rots their teeth out. Why the big companies do not want universal health care is that it would establish an incentive for the voters to be able to and want to cut the costs on them through taxes by regulating the junk food manufacturers. Same with a lot of things... our economy is built by companies that trick people or delude them. Bad business is the business of America, and the people who made tons of money off it do not think we can change, and do not want to.

  32. I agree, but I never got a two-bedroom my whole like until I bought a house. I think it is fair to say people should be able to afford housing for me that means studio or 1br. It would be interesting to see a map that goes from 0, to counties where people can afford a 1BR, to counties where people can afford studios. Different types of housing solutions. Also, maybe listing the security of neighborhoods as well. Sometimes you can afford to live only in a place where the bullets are flying ... which should be unacceptable.

There has been huge decimating disinvestment in America and Americans that someone has to now pay back and pay for, and things have to change going forward. The BS argument you have is because the rich people want to hang on to the all the power and keep their ill gotten gains, and get more ... certainly not give anything back - so they invent the BS excuse of socialism like the build Russia up into a threat to get money to the military and the new cold war. Russia spends 60 billion to our 800 billion military ... they are not a threat and that money is wasted. Universal health care and free 2 year college is a good start as well as minimum or living wages. There is publicly about 3 trillion overseas corporate money that is not being paid taxes on, and the same in the US ... huge stashes of cash stuck out in Panama. The cost of these social programs ... otherwise knows as democracy is fucking nothing to these people. They are stupid and they do not want to have to go head to head with educated hard working Americans because most rich people are like Jared Kushner.. given money for nothing and never did a thing to earn it in their lives. Most Americans can do a better job if they can just compete, big money is all about monopoly and kicking away the ladder so no one else can follow them up. that is why democracy is so important.

  47. There are a lot of people who are really afraid, honestly, about the term socialism, and Bernie took that right on, but still that is a problem with a lot of Americans. A lot of Americans though do not know anything outside of their own lives and towns and never see how the rest of the developed world lives. Americans are so afraid that some person is going to get something they do not deserve from not working or something that they never bother to think about the millions of Americans who have it so easy. I am a big believer in FDRs New New Deal, and that is what Bernie is really talking about.
