Joy Wooldridge - I'm just a smidge younger than you, but grew up in an agricultural town. Not everyone was about peace, love and pot in the 60s. Many people couldn't stand hippies. The high school I went to didn't offer calculus, but did offer ag science, car repair and secretarial skills training. The local college had a lot of ag majors, and they used to drive their pickups into town and lasso any guy with long hair, then drag him behind their truck for a bit. These people, and their children, and many other like them, are the one who support Trump. You know what your learn. (And frankly, most of the hippies could have used a bit more soap. It really pissed a lot of people off to be lectured by someone who dressed like a bum and didn't bother to shave or bathe.) I got a STEM degree from a university in LA, but most of the people I grew up with were left behind. They had a good way of life, but can't adapt to the changes that took it away. The education they got sure didn't prepare them.
