She was found mostly responsible, but McDonald's had deep pockets, so had to pay for their 10% culpability. The fact she won any monetary reward is more a strong argument for tort reform.

  10. Chris Wallace is amazing. He may be a conservative, but that doesn't mean he cuts, those with an 'R' after their name, any name. Pompeo is a pompous ass. Trump wanted to meet with the Taliban at Camp David, he kept the Afghan government away from the negotiating table. Biden may have mess up the withdrawal of troops, but Trump was the one who set the stage.

The only person who was hurt by his dalliance was his wife, who forgave him. A lot of leaders, that are still idolized today, had a piece on the side, like JFK and FDR. Clinton was a damn good president, not perfect, as no person is, but still very good. I'd rather a president who governs well, but can't keep his pants zipped, than one whose presidency is a disaster, and is faithful to his wife.

  20. How do we get rid of the Electoral College? That will require a Constitutional Amendment, which must be ratified by a super majority of states. Do you think the states that have outsized power because of this nondemocratic anachronism will ratify? When I was much too young to vote, the ERA was passed. I've been pissed off ever since it was not ratified by enough states.

  27. OK, so early in the pandemic there were groups, that wanted to see if a special mouthwash, or nasal lavage, with artificial ACE-2 receptor molecules, could help prevent getting infected. They didn't work in animal models, which is why most people never heard of them. There are some people working on an ACE-2 chewing gum still. That's hardly curing a Covid infection with mouthwash.

When a fuzzy studies major, like poly sci or sociology, takes a science class, they get a special dumbed down class. When a science major takes a fuzzy studies class, not only were we in the same class, as those who were majoring in the field, those fuzzy studies majors whined that we brought the curve up too high.

I asked if he'd help put up, and decorate, the sukkah with us, which he did. He called it an inside out xmas tree, because the inside was festooned with sparkly decorations and lights, and was at our place for every holiday after that.
